قَالُوا اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ وَلَدًا ۗ سُبْحَانَهُ ۖ هُوَ الْغَنِيُّ ۖ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۚ إِنْ عِندَكُم مِّن سُلْطَانٍ بِهَٰذَا ۚ أَتَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ٦٨

They (Jews, Christians and pagans) say: "Allah has begotten a son (children)." Glory be to Him! He is Rich (Free of all wants). His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. No warrant you have for this. Do you say against Allah what you know not.

قَالُوا اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ وَلَدًا ۗ

They (Jews, Christians and pagans) say: 'Allah has begotten a son (children).'

سُبْحَانَهُ ۖ

Glory be to Him!

هُوَ الْغَنِيُّ ۖ

He is Rich (Free of all wants).

لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۚ

His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth.

إِنْ عِندَكُم مِّن سُلْطَانٍ بِهَٰذَا ۚ

No warrant you have for this.

أَتَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

Do you say against Allah what you know not.

قُلْ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ لَا يُفْلِحُونَ ٦٩

Say: "Verily, those who invent lie against Allah will never be successful"

قُلْ

Say:

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَفْتَرُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ

Verily, those who invent lie against Allah

لَا يُفْلِحُونَ

will never be successful

مَتَاعٌ فِي الدُّنْيَا ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا مَرْجِعُهُمْ ثُمَّ نُذِيقُهُمُ الْعَذَابَ الشَّدِيدَ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْفُرُونَ ٧٠

A brief enjoyment in this world! - and then unto Us will be their return, then We shall make them taste the severest torment because they used to disbelieve [in Allah, belie His Messengers, deny and challenge His Ayat (proofs, signs, verses, etc.)].

مَتَاعٌ فِي الدُّنْيَا

A brief enjoyment in this world!

ثُمَّ إِلَيْنَا مَرْجِعُهُمْ

and then unto Us will be their return,

ثُمَّ نُذِيقُهُمُ الْعَذَابَ الشَّدِيدَ

then We shall make them taste the severest torment

بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْفُرُونَ

because they used to disbelieve [in Allah, belie His Messengers, deny and challenge His Ayat (proofs, signs, verses, etc.)]
