Disbelievers' Dismissal of Warnings and Neglect of Charity

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ اتَّقُوا مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَمَا خَلْفَكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ ٤٥
And when it is said to them: "Beware of that which is before you (worldly torments), and that which is behind you (torments in the Hereafter), in order that you may receive Mercy (i.e. if you believe in Allah's Religion Islamic Monotheism, and avoid polytheism, and obey Allah with righteous deeds).
- وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ
- And when it is said to them:
- اتَّقُوا مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيكُمْ
- Beware of that which is before you (worldly torments),
- وَمَا خَلْفَكُمْ
- and that which is behind you (torments in the Hereafter),
- لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
- in order that you may receive Mercy (i.e. if you believe in Allah's Religion Islamic Monotheism, and avoid polytheism, and obey Allah with righteous deeds).
وَمَا تَأْتِيهِم مِّنْ آيَةٍ مِّنْ آيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَّا كَانُوا عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ ٤٦
And never came an Ayah from among the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it.
- وَمَا تَأْتِيهِم
- And never came to them
- مِّنْ آيَةٍ مِّنْ آيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ
- an Ayah from among the Ayat of their Lord
- إِلَّا كَانُوا
- but they did
- عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ
- turn away from it.
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ أَنفِقُوا مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اللَّهُ قَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَنُطْعِمُ مَن لَّوْ يَشَاءُ اللَّهُ أَطْعَمَهُ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ ٤٧
And when it is said to them: "Spend of that with which Allah has provided you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe: "Shall we feed those whom, if Allah willed, He (Himself) would have fed? You are only in a plain error."
- وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ
- And when it is said to them
- أَنفِقُوا مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اللَّهُ
- Spend of that with which Allah has provided you
- قَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا
- those who disbelieve say
- لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا
- to those who believe
- أَنُطْعِمُ مَن لَّوْ يَشَاءُ اللَّهُ أَطْعَمَهُ
- Shall we feed those whom, if Allah willed, He (Himself) would have fed?
- إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ
- You are only in a plain error.
