الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ ۚ وَهُوَ الْحَكِيمُ الْخَبِيرُ ١

[34:1] All the praises and thanks be to Allah, to Whom belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. His is all the praises and thanks in the Hereafter, and He is the AllWise, the AllAware.

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ

All the praises and thanks be to Allah

الَّذِي لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ

to Whom belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth

وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ ۚ

His is all the praises and thanks in the Hereafter

وَهُوَ الْحَكِيمُ الْخَبِيرُ

and He is the All-Wise, the All-Aware

يَعْلَمُ مَا يَلِجُ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا يَخْرُجُ مِنْهَا وَمَا يَنزِلُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَمَا يَعْرُجُ فِيهَا ۚ وَهُوَ الرَّحِيمُ الْغَفُورُ ٢

[34:2] He knows that which goes into the earth and that which comes forth from it, and that which descend from the heaven and that which ascends to it. And He is the Most Merciful, the OftForgiving.

يَعْلَمُ مَا يَلِجُ فِي الْأَرْضِ

He knows that which goes into the earth

وَمَا يَخْرُجُ مِنْهَا

and that which comes forth from it

وَمَا يَنزِلُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ

and that which descends from the heaven

وَمَا يَعْرُجُ فِيهَا ۚ

and that which ascends to it

وَهُوَ الرَّحِيمُ الْغَفُورُ

And He is the Most Merciful, the Oft-Forgiving

وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَا تَأْتِينَا السَّاعَةُ ۖ قُلْ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّي لَتَأْتِيَنَّكُمْ عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ ۖ لَا يَعْزُبُ عَنْهُ مِثْقَالُ ذَرَّةٍ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَلَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا أَصْغَرُ مِن ذَٰلِكَ وَلَا أَكْبَرُ إِلَّا فِي كِتَابٍ مُّبِينٍ ٣

[34:3] Those who disbelieve say: "The Hour will not come to us." Say: "Yes, by my Lord, it will come to you." (Allah, He is) the AllKnower of the unseen, not even the weight of an atom (or a small ant) or less than that or greater, escapes from His Knowledge in the heavens or in the earth, but it is in a Clear Book (AlLauh AlMahfuz).

وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا

Those who disbelieve say:

لَا تَأْتِينَا السَّاعَةُ ۖ

"The Hour will not come to us."

قُلْ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّي

Say: "Yes, by my Lord,

لَتَأْتِيَنَّكُمْ

it will come to you."

عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ ۖ

(Allah, He is) the All-Knower of the unseen,

لَا يَعْزُبُ عَنْهُ مِثْقَالُ ذَرَّةٍ

not even the weight of an atom (or a small ant)

فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَلَا فِي الْأَرْضِ

or less than that or greater, escapes from His Knowledge in the heavens or in the earth,

وَلَا أَصْغَرُ مِن ذَٰلِكَ وَلَا أَكْبَرُ

but it is in a Clear Book (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz).

وَقَالَ

لِّيَجْزِيَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ وَرِزْقٌ كَرِيمٌ ٤

[34:4] That He may recompense those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds. Those, theirs is forgiveness and Rizqun Karim (generous provision, i.e. Paradise).

لِّيَجْزِيَ

That He may recompense

الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا

those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism)

وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ ۚ

and do righteous good deeds.

أُولَٰئِكَ

Those,

لَهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ

theirs is forgiveness

وَرِزْقٌ كَرِيمٌ

and Rizqun Karim (generous provision, i.e. Paradise).

لِّيَجْزِيَ

[34:5] But those who strive against Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) to frustrate them, those, for them will be a severe painful torment.

وَالَّذِينَ سَعَوْا فِي آيَاتِنَا

But those who strive against Our Ayat

to frustrate them

أُولَٰئِكَ

those,

لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مِّن رِّجْزٍ أَلِيمٌ

for them will be a severe painful torment.

[34:6] And those who have been given knowledge see that what is revealed to you (O Muhammad SAW) from your Lord is the truth, and guides to the Path of the Exalted in Might, Owner of all praise.

وَيَرَى الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ

And those who have been given knowledge

الَّذِي أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ

see that what is revealed to you (O Muhammad SAW) from your Lord

هُوَ الْحَقَّ

is the truth

وَيَهْدِي إِلَىٰ صِرَاطِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ

and guides to the Path of the Exalted in Might, Owner of all praise

وَيَرَى

وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا هَلْ نَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍ يُنَبِّئُكُمْ إِذَا مُزِّقْتُمْ كُلَّ مُمَزَّقٍ إِنَّكُمْ لَفِي خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ ٧

[34:7] Those who disbelieve say: "Shall we direct you to a man (Muhammad SAW) who will tell you (that) when you have become fully disintegrated into dust with full dispersion, then, you will be created (again) anew?"

وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا

Those who disbelieve say:

هَلْ نَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍ

Shall we direct you to a man (Muhammad SAW) who will tell you

يُنَبِّئُكُمْ إِذَا مُزِّقْتُمْ كُلَّ مُمَزَّقٍ

that when you have become fully disintegrated into dust with full dispersion,

إِنَّكُمْ لَفِي خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ

then, you will be created (again) anew?

وَقَالَ

[34:8] Has he (Muhammad SAW) invented a lie against Allah, or is there a madness in him? Nay, but those who disbelieve in the Hereafter are (themselves) in a torment, and in far error.

أَفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا

Has he (Muhammad SAW) invented a lie against Allah,

أَم بِهِ جِنَّةٌ ۗ

or is there a madness in him?

بَلِ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ

Nay, but those who disbelieve in the Hereafter

فِي الْعَذَابِ وَالضَّلَالِ الْبَعِيدِ

are (themselves) in a torment, and in far error.

أَفَلَمْ يَرَوْا إِلَىٰ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُم مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ إِن نَّشَأْ نَخْسِفْ بِهِمُ الْأَرْضَ أَوْ نُسْقِطْ عَلَيْهِمْ كِسَفًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّكُلِّ عَبْدٍ مُّنِيبٍ ٩

[34:9] See they not what is before them and what is behind them, of the heaven and the earth? If We will, We shall sink the earth with them, or cause a piece of the heaven to fall upon them. Verily, in this is a sign for every faithful believer that [believes in the Oneness of Allah], and turns to Allah (in all affairs with humility and in repentance).

أَفَلَمْ يَرَوْا إِلَىٰ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُم

See they not what is before them and what is behind them,

مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ

of the heaven and the earth?

إِن نَّشَأْ نَخْسِفْ بِهِمُ الْأَرْضَ

If We will, We shall sink the earth with them,

أَوْ نُسْقِطْ عَلَيْهِمْ كِسَفًا مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ ۚ

Verily, in this is a sign for every faithful believer that [believes in the Oneness of Allah], and turns to Allah (in all affairs with humility and in repentance).

۞ وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا دَاوُودَ مِنَّا فَضْلًا ۖ يَا جِبَالُ أَوِّبِي مَعَهُ وَالطَّيْرَ ۖ وَأَلَنَّا لَهُ الْحَدِيدَ ١٠

[34:10] And indeed We bestowed grace on David from Us (saying): "O you mountains. Glorify (Allah) with him! And you birds (also)! And We made the iron soft for him."

۞ وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا دَاوُودَ مِنَّا فَضْلًا ۖ

And indeed We bestowed grace on David from Us

يَا جِبَالُ أَوِّبِي مَعَهُ وَالطَّيْرَ ۖ

O you mountains, glorify (Allah) with him!

وَأَلَنَّا

And you birds (also)!

لَهُ الْحَدِيدَ

And We made the iron soft for him.

۞ وَلَقَدْ

أَنِ اعْمَلْ سَابِغَاتٍ وَقَدِّرْ فِي السَّرْدِ ۖ وَاعْمَلُوا صَالِحًا ۖ إِنِّي بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ ١١

[34:11] Saying: "Make you perfect coats of mail, balancing well the rings of chain armour, and work you (men) righteousness. Truly, I am AllSeer of what you do."

أَنِ اعْمَلْ سَابِغَاتٍ

Make you perfect coats of mail,

وَقَدِّرْ فِي السَّرْدِ ۖ

balancing well the rings of chain armour,

وَاعْمَلُوا صَالِحًا ۖ

and work you (men) righteousness.

إِنِّي بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ

Truly, I am All-Seer of what you do.

أَنِ

وَلِسُلَيْمَانَ الرِّيحَ غُدُوُّهَا شَهْرٌ وَرَوَاحُهَا شَهْرٌ ۖ وَأَسَلْنَا لَهُ عَيْنَ الْقِطْرِ ۖ وَمِنَ الْجِنِّ مَن يَعْمَلُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِ ۖ وَمَن يَزِغْ مِنْهُمْ عَنْ أَمْرِنَا نُذِقْهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ السَّعِيرِ ١٢

[34:12] And to Solomon (We subjected) the wind, its morning (stride from sunrise till midnoon) was a month's (journey), and its afternoon (stride from the midday decline of the sun to sunset) was a month's (journey i.e. in one day he could travel two months' journey). And We caused a fount of (molten) brass to flow for him, and there were jinns that worked in front of him, by the Leave of his Lord, and whosoever of them turned aside from Our Command, We shall cause him to taste of the torment of the blazing Fire.

وَلِسُلَيْمَانَ الرِّيحَ

And to Solomon (We subjected) the wind,

غُدُوُّهَا شَهْرٌ وَرَوَاحُهَا شَهْرٌ ۖ

its morning (stride from sunrise till midnoon) was a month's (journey), and its afternoon (stride from the midday decline of the sun to sunset) was a month's (journey i.e. in one day he could travel two months' journey).

وَأَسَلْنَا لَهُ عَيْنَ الْقِطْرِ ۖ

And We caused a fount of (molten) brass to flow for him,

وَمِنَ الْجِنِّ مَن يَعْمَلُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِ ۖ

and there were jinns that worked in front of him, by the Leave of his Lord,

وَمَن يَزِغْ مِنْهُمْ عَنْ أَمْرِنَا

and whosoever of them turned aside from Our Command,

نُذِقْهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ السَّعِيرِ

We shall cause him to taste of the torment of the blazing Fire.

يَعْمَلُونَ لَهُ مَا يَشَاءُ مِن مَّحَارِيبَ وَتَمَاثِيلَ وَجِفَانٍ كَالْجَوَابِ وَقُدُورٍ رَّاسِيَاتٍ ۚ اعْمَلُوا آلَ دَاوُودَ شُكْرًا ۚ وَقَلِيلٌ مِّنْ عِبَادِيَ الشَّكُورُ ١٣

[34:13] They worked for him what he desired, (making) high rooms, images, basins as large as reservoirs, and (cooking) cauldrons fixed (in their places). "Work you, O family of Dawud (David), with thanks!" But few of My slaves are grateful.

يَعْمَلُونَ لَهُ مَا يَشَاءُ

They worked for him what he desired,

مِن مَّحَارِيبَ وَتَمَاثِيلَ وَجِفَانٍ كَالْجَوَابِ وَقُدُورٍ رَّاسِيَاتٍ ۚ

(making) high rooms, images, basins as large as reservoirs, and (cooking) cauldrons fixed (in their places).

اعْمَلُوا آلَ دَاوُودَ شُكْرًا ۚ

"Work you, O family of Dawud (David), with thanks!"

وَقَلِيلٌ مِّنْ عِبَادِيَ الشَّكُورُ

But few of My slaves are grateful.

فَلَمَّا قَضَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ الْمَوْتَ مَا دَلَّهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَوْتِهِ إِلَّا دَابَّةُ الْأَرْضِ تَأْكُلُ مِنسَأَتَهُ ۖ فَلَمَّا خَرَّ تَبَيَّنَتِ الْجِنُّ أَن لَّوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ الْغَيْبَ مَا لَبِثُوا فِي الْعَذَابِ الْمُهِينِ ١٤

[34:14] Then when We decreed death for him [Sulaiman (Solomon)], nothing informed them (jinns) of his death except a little worm of the earth, which kept (slowly) gnawing away at his stick, so when he fell down, the jinns saw clearly that if they had known the unseen, they would not have stayed in the humiliating torment.

فَلَمَّا قَضَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ الْمَوْتَ

Then when We decreed death for him

مَا دَلَّهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَوْتِهِ إِلَّا دَابَّةُ الْأَرْضِ

nothing informed them (jinns) of his death except a little worm of the earth

تَأْكُلُ مِنسَأَتَهُ ۖ

which kept (slowly) gnawing away at his stick

فَلَمَّا خَرَّ

so when he fell down

تَبَيَّنَتِ الْجِنُّ

the jinns saw clearly that

أَن لَّوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ الْغَيْبَ

if they had known the unseen

مَا لَبِثُوا فِي الْعَذَابِ الْمُهِينِ

they would not have stayed in the humiliating torment

فَلَمَّا

[34:15] Indeed there was for Saba' (Sheba) a sign in their dwelling place, - two gardens on the right hand and on the left (and it was said to them) "Eat of the provision of your Lord, and be grateful to Him, a fair land and an OftForgiving Lord.

لَقَدْ كَانَ لِسَبَإٍ فِي مَسْكَنِهِمْ آيَةٌ ۖ

Indeed there was for Saba' (Sheba) a sign in their dwelling place,

جَنَّتَانِ عَن يَمِينٍ وَشِمَالٍ ۖ

two gardens on the right hand and on the left

كُلُوا مِن رِّزْقِ رَبِّكُمْ وَاشْكُرُوا لَهُ ۚ

(and it was said to them) 'Eat of the provision of your Lord, and be grateful to Him,'

بَلْدَةٌ طَيِّبَةٌ وَرَبٌّ غَفُورٌ

a fair land and an Oft-Forgiving Lord.

[34:16] But they turned away (from the obedience of Allah), so We sent against them Sail Al'Arim (flood released from the dam), and We converted their two gardens into gardens producing bitter bad fruit, and tamarisks, and some few lotetrees.

فَأَعْرَضُوا

But they turned away (from the obedience of Allah)

فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَيْلَ الْعَرِمِ

so We sent against them Sail Al'Arim (flood released from the dam)

وَبَدَّلْنَاهُم بِجَنَّتَيْهِمْ جَنَّتَيْنِ

and We converted their two gardens into gardens

ذَوَاتَيْ أُكُلٍ خَمْطٍ وَأَثْلٍ وَشَيْءٍ مِّن سِدْرٍ قَلِيلٍ

producing bitter bad fruit, and tamarisks, and some few lotetrees.

فَأَعْرَضُوا

[34:17] Like this We requited them because they were ungrateful disbelievers. And never do We requit in such a way except those who are ungrateful, (disbelievers).

ذَٰلِكَ جَزَيْنَاهُم

Like this We requited them

بِمَا كَفَرُوا ۖ

because they were ungrateful disbelievers.

وَهَلْ نُجَازِي إِلَّا الْكَفُورَ

And never do We requit in such a way except those who are ungrateful, (disbelievers).

[34:18] And We placed between them and the towns which We had blessed, towns easy to be seen, and We made the stages (of journey) between them easy (saying): "Travel in them safely both by night and day."

وَجَعَلْنَا بَيْنَهُمْ

And We placed between them

وَبَيْنَ الْقُرَى الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا

and the towns which We had blessed

قُرًى ظَاهِرَةً

towns easy to be seen

وَقَدَّرْنَا فِيهَا السَّيْرَ ۖ

and We made the stages (of journey) between them easy

سِيرُوا فِيهَا لَيَالِيَ وَأَيَّامًا

Travel in them safely both by night and day

آمِنِينَ

in safety

[34:19] But they said: "Our Lord! Make the stages between our journey longer," and they wronged themselves, so We made them as tales (in the land), and We dispersed them all, totally. Verily, in this are indeed signs for every steadfast grateful (person).

فَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا

But they said: 'Our Lord!'

بَاعِدْ بَيْنَ أَسْفَارِنَا

Make the stages between our journey longer,'

وَظَلَمُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ

and they wronged themselves,

فَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ أَحَادِيثَ

so We made them as tales (in the land),

وَمَزَّقْنَاهُمْ كُلَّ مُمَزَّقٍ ۚ

and We dispersed them all, totally.

إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ

Verily, in this are indeed signs

لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ

for every steadfast grateful (person).

فَقَالُوا

[34:20] And indeed Iblis (Satan) did prove true his thought about them, and they followed him, all except a group of true believers (in the Oneness of Allah).

وَلَقَدْ صَدَّقَ عَلَيْهِمْ إِبْلِيسُ ظَنَّهُ

And indeed Iblis (Satan) did prove true his thought about them,

فَاتَّبَعُوهُ

and they followed him,

إِلَّا فَرِيقًا مِّنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

all except a group of true believers (in the Oneness of Allah).

وَلَقَدْ

[34:21] And he (Iblis Satan) had no authority over them, except that We might test him, who believes in the Hereafter from him who is in doubt about it. And your Lord is a Hafiz over everything. (AllKnower of everything i.e. He keeps record of each and every person as regards deeds, and then He will reward them accordingly).

وَمَا كَانَ لَهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّن سُلْطَانٍ

And he (Iblis Satan) had no authority over them,

إِلَّا لِنَعْلَمَ

except that We might test

مَن يُؤْمِنُ بِالْآخِرَةِ

who believes in the Hereafter

مِمَّنْ هُوَ مِنْهَا فِي شَكٍّ ۗ

from him who is in doubt about it.

وَرَبُّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ حَفِيظٌ

And your Lord is a Hafiz over everything.

وَمَا

قُلِ ادْعُوا الَّذِينَ زَعَمْتُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ ۖ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَلَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا لَهُمْ فِيهِمَا مِن شِرْكٍ وَمَا لَهُ مِنْهُم مِّن ظَهِيرٍ ٢٢

[34:22] Say: (O Muhammad SAW to those polytheists, pagans, etc.) "Call upon those whom you assert (to be associate gods) besides Allah, they possess not even the weight of an atom (or a small ant), either in the heavens or on the earth, nor have they any share in either, nor there is for Him any supporter from among them.

قُلِ ادْعُوا الَّذِينَ زَعَمْتُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ ۖ

Say: (O Muhammad SAW to those polytheists, pagans, etc.) 'Call upon those whom you assert (to be associate gods) besides Allah,'

لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَلَا فِي الْأَرْضِ

they possess not even the weight of an atom (or a small ant), either in the heavens or on the earth,

وَمَا لَهُمْ فِيهِمَا مِن شِرْكٍ

nor have they any share in either,

وَمَا لَهُ مِنْهُم مِّن ظَهِيرٍ

nor there is for Him any supporter from among them.

وَلَا تَنفَعُ الشَّفَاعَةُ عِندَهُ إِلَّا لِمَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ ۚ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا فُزِّعَ عَن قُلُوبِهِمْ قَالُوا مَاذَا قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ ۖ قَالُوا الْحَقَّ ۖ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْكَبِيرُ ٢٣

[34:23] Intercession with Him profits not, except for him whom He permits. Until when fear is banished from their (angels') hearts, they (angels) say: "What is it that your Lord has said?" They say: "The truth. And He is the Most High, the Most Great."

وَلَا تَنفَعُ الشَّفَاعَةُ عِندَهُ إِلَّا لِمَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ ۚ

Intercession with Him profits not, except for him whom He permits.

حَتَّىٰ إِذَا فُزِّعَ عَن قُلُوبِهِمْ

Until when fear is banished from their (angels') hearts,

قَالُوا مَاذَا قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ ۖ

they (angels) say: 'What is it that your Lord has said?'

قَالُوا الْحَقَّ ۖ

They say: 'The truth.'

وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْكَبِيرُ

And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

۞ قُلْ مَن يَرْزُقُكُم مِّنَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ قُلِ اللَّهُ ۖ وَإِنَّا أَوْ إِيَّاكُمْ لَعَلَىٰ هُدًى أَوْ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ ٢٤

[34:24] Say (O Muhammad SAW to these polytheists, pagans, etc.) "Who gives you provision from the heavens and the earth?" Say: "Allah, And verily, (either) we or you are rightly guided or in a plain error."

۞ قُلْ مَن يَرْزُقُكُم مِّنَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ

Say (O Muhammad SAW to these polytheists, pagans, etc.) 'Who gives you provision from the heavens and the earth?'

قُلِ اللَّهُ ۖ

Say: 'Allah,'

وَإِنَّا أَوْ إِيَّاكُمْ

And verily, (either) we or you

لَعَلَىٰ هُدًى أَوْ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ

are rightly guided or in a plain error.

۞ قُلْ

[34:26] Say: "Our Lord will assemble us all together (on the Day of Resurrection), then He will judge between us with truth. And He is the (Most Trustworthy) AllKnowing Judge."

قُلْ

Say:

يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَنَا رَبُّنَا

Our Lord will assemble us all together (on the Day of Resurrection),

ثُمَّ يَفْتَحُ بَيْنَنَا بِالْحَقِّ

then He will judge between us with truth.

وَهُوَ الْفَتَّاحُ الْعَلِيمُ

And He is the (Most Trustworthy) All-Knowing Judge.

[34:27] Say (O Muhammad SAW to these polytheists and pagans): "Show me those whom you have joined to Him as partners. Nay (there are not at all any partners with Him)! But He is Allah (Alone), the AllMighty, the AllWise."

قُلْ أَرُونِيَ الَّذِينَ أَلْحَقْتُم بِهِ شُرَكَاءَ ۖ

Say (O Muhammad SAW to these polytheists and pagans): 'Show me those whom you have joined to Him as partners.'

كَلَّا ۚ

Nay (there are not at all any partners with Him)!

بَلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ

But He is Allah (Alone), the AllMighty, the AllWise.

[34:28] And We have not sent you (O Muhammad SAW) except as a giver of glad tidings and a warner to all mankind, but most of men know not.

وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا

And We have not sent you (O Muhammad SAW) except

كَافَّةً لِّلنَّاسِ

as a giver of glad tidings and a warner to all mankind,

وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ

but most of men

لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

know not.

وَمَا

[34:29] And they say: "When is this promise (i.e. the Day of Resurrection will be fulfilled) if you are truthful?"

And they say:

مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا الْوَعْدُ

When is this promise

إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ

(i.e. the Day of Resurrection will be fulfilled) if you are truthful?

[34:30] Say (O Muhammad SAW): "The appointment to you is for a Day, which you cannot put back for an hour (or a moment) nor put forward."

قُل لَّكُم مِّيعَادُ

Say (O Muhammad SAW): 'The appointment to you is

يَوْمٍ لَّا تَسْتَأْخِرُونَ عَنْهُ

for a Day, which you cannot put back

سَاعَةً وَلَا تَسْتَقْدِمُونَ

for an hour (or a moment) nor put forward.

وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَن نُّؤْمِنَ بِهَٰذَا الْقُرْآنِ وَلَا بِالَّذِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ۗ وَلَوْ تَرَىٰ إِذِ الظَّالِمُونَ مَوْقُوفُونَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ يَرْجِعُ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍ الْقَوْلَ يَقُولُ الَّذِينَ اسْتُضْعِفُوا لِلَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا لَوْلَا أَنتُمْ لَكُنَّا مُؤْمِنِينَ ٣١

[34:31] And those who disbelieve say: "We believe not in this Quran nor in that which was before it," but if you could see when the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers, etc.) will be made to stand before their Lord, how they will cast the (blaming) word one to another! Those who were deemed weak will say to those who were arrogant: "Had it not been for you, we should certainly have been believers!"

وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا

And those who disbelieve say:

لَن نُّؤْمِنَ بِهَٰذَا الْقُرْآنِ وَلَا بِالَّذِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ ۗ

"We believe not in this Quran nor in that which was before it,"

وَلَوْ تَرَىٰ إِذِ الظَّالِمُونَ مَوْقُوفُونَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ

but if you could see when the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers, etc.) will be made to stand before their Lord,

يَرْجِعُ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍ الْقَوْلَ

how they will cast the (blaming) word one to another!

يَقُولُ الَّذِينَ اسْتُضْعِفُوا لِلَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا

Those who were deemed weak will say to those who were arrogant:

لَوْلَا أَنتُمْ لَكُنَّا مُؤْمِنِينَ

"Had it not been for you, we should certainly have been believers!"

قَالَ الَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ اسْتُضْعِفُوا أَنَحْنُ صَدَدْنَاكُمْ عَنِ الْهُدَىٰ بَعْدَ إِذْ جَاءَكُم ۖ بَلْ كُنتُم مُّجْرِمِينَ ٣٢

[34:32] And those who were arrogant will say to those who were deemed weak: "Did we keep you back from guidance after it had come to you? Nay, but you were Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disobedient to Allah, etc.).

قَالَ الَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا

And those who were arrogant will say

لِلَّذِينَ اسْتُضْعِفُوا

to those who were deemed weak:

أَنَحْنُ صَدَدْنَاكُمْ عَنِ الْهُدَىٰ

Did we keep you back from guidance

بَعْدَ إِذْ جَاءَكُم ۖ

after it had come to you?

بَلْ كُنتُم مُّجْرِمِينَ

Nay, but you were Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disobedient to Allah, etc.).

وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ اسْتُضْعِفُوا لِلَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا بَلْ مَكْرُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ إِذْ تَأْمُرُونَنَا أَن نَّكْفُرَ بِاللَّهِ وَنَجْعَلَ لَهُ أَندَادًا ۚ وَأَسَرُّوا النَّدَامَةَ لَمَّا رَأَوُا الْعَذَابَ وَجَعَلْنَا الْأَغْلَالَ فِي أَعْنَاقِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا ۚ هَلْ يُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ ٣٣

[34:33] Those who were deemed weak will say to those who were arrogant: "Nay, but it was your plotting by night and day, when you ordered us to disbelieve in Allah and set up rivals to Him!" And each of them (parties) will conceal their own regrets (for disobeying Allah during this worldly life), when they behold the torment. And We shall put iron collars round the necks of those who disbelieved. Are they requited aught except what they used to do?

وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ اسْتُضْعِفُوا

Those who were deemed weak will say

لِلَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا

to those who were arrogant:

بَلْ مَكْرُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ

Nay, but it was your plotting by night and day,

إِذْ تَأْمُرُونَنَا أَن نَّكْفُرَ بِاللَّهِ

when you ordered us to disbelieve in Allah

وَنَجْعَلَ لَهُ أَندَادًا ۚ

and set up rivals to Him!

وَأَسَرُّوا النَّدَامَةَ

And each of them (parties) will conceal their own regrets

لَمَّا رَأَوُا الْعَذَابَ

when they behold the torment.

وَجَعَلْنَا الْأَغْلَالَ فِي أَعْنَاقِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا ۚ

And We shall put iron collars round the necks of those who disbelieved.

هَلْ يُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ

Are they requited aught except what they used to do?

وَقَالَ

[34:34] And We did not send a warner to a township, but those who were given the worldly wealth and luxuries among them said: "We believe not in the (Message) with which you have been sent."

وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا فِي قَرْيَةٍ مِّن نَّذِيرٍ

And We did not send a warner to a township,

إِلَّا قَالَ مُتْرَفُوهَا

but those who were given the worldly wealth and luxuries among them said:

إِنَّا بِمَا أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِ كَافِرُونَ

"We believe not in the (Message) with which you have been sent."

وَقَالُوا نَحْنُ أَكْثَرُ أَمْوَالًا وَأَوْلَادًا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ ٣٥

[34:35] And they say: "We are more in wealth and in children, and we are not going to be punished."

وَقَالُوا

And they say:

نَحْنُ أَكْثَرُ أَمْوَالًا وَأَوْلَادًا

We are more in wealth and in children,

وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ

and we are not going to be punished.

[34:36] Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Verily, my Lord enlarges and restricts the provision to whom He pleases, but most men know not."

قُلْ إِنَّ رَبِّي

Say (O Muhammad SAW): Verily, my Lord

يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَاءُ

enlarges and restricts the provision to whom He pleases

وَيَقْدِرُ

but most men know not.

وَمَا أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَلَا أَوْلَادُكُم بِالَّتِي تُقَرِّبُكُمْ عِندَنَا زُلْفَىٰ إِلَّا مَنْ آمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَأُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمْ جَزَاءُ الضِّعْفِ بِمَا عَمِلُوا وَهُمْ فِي الْغُرُفَاتِ آمِنُونَ ٣٧

[34:37] And it is not your wealth, nor your children that bring you nearer to Us (i.e. pleases Allah), but only he (will please Us) who believes (in the Islamic Monotheism), and does righteous deeds; as for such, there will be twofold reward for what they did, and they will reside in the high dwellings (Paradise) in peace and security.

وَمَا أَمْوَالُكُمْ

And it is not your wealth,

وَلَا أَوْلَادُكُم

nor your children

بِالَّتِي تُقَرِّبُكُمْ عِندَنَا زُلْفَىٰ

that bring you nearer to Us (i.e. pleases Allah),

إِلَّا مَنْ آمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا

but only he (will please Us) who believes (in the Islamic Monotheism), and does righteous deeds;

فَأُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمْ جَزَاءُ الضِّعْفِ بِمَا عَمِلُوا

as for such, there will be twofold reward for what they did,

وَهُمْ فِي الْغُرُفَاتِ آمِنُونَ

and they will reside in the high dwellings (Paradise) in peace and security.

وَمَا

[34:38] And those who strive against Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), to frustrate them, will be brought to the torment.

وَالَّذِينَ يَسْعَوْنَ فِي آيَاتِنَا

And those who strive against Our Ayat

مُعَاجِزِينَ

to frustrate them

أُولَٰئِكَ فِي الْعَذَابِ

will be brought to the torment

وَالَّذِينَ

[34:39] Say: "Truly, my Lord enlarges the provision for whom He wills of His slaves, and (also) restricts (it) for him, and whatsoever you spend of anything (in Allah's Cause), He will replace it. And He is the Best of providers."

قُلْ إِنَّ رَبِّي يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ

Say: 'Truly, my Lord enlarges the provision for whom He wills of His slaves,'

وَيَقْدِرُ لَهُ ۚ

and (also) restricts (it) for him,

وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ يَقُولُ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ أَهَٰؤُلَاءِ إِيَّاكُمْ كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَ ٤٠

[34:40] And (remember) the Day when He will gather them all together, and then will say to the angels: "Was it you that these people used to worship?"

وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ جَمِيعًا

And (remember) the Day when He will gather them all together

ثُمَّ يَقُولُ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ

and then will say to the angels

أَهَٰؤُلَاءِ إِيَّاكُمْ كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَ

"Was it you that these people used to worship?"

وَيَوْمَ

قَالُوا سُبْحَانَكَ أَنتَ وَلِيُّنَا مِن دُونِهِم ۖ بَلْ كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَ الْجِنَّ ۖ أَكْثَرُهُم بِهِم مُّؤْمِنُونَ ٤١

[34:41] They (angels) will say: "Glorified be You! You are our Wali (Lord) instead of them. Nay, but they used to worship the jinns; most of them were believers in them."

قَالُوا سُبْحَانَكَ

They (angels) will say: 'Glorified be You!'

أَنتَ وَلِيُّنَا مِن دُونِهِم ۖ

You are our Wali (Lord) instead of them.

بَلْ كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَ الْجِنَّ ۖ

Nay, but they used to worship the jinns;

أَكْثَرُهُم بِهِم مُّؤْمِنُونَ

most of them were believers in them.

فَالْيَوْمَ لَا يَمْلِكُ بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ نَّفْعًا وَلَا ضَرًّا وَنَقُولُ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا ذُوقُوا عَذَابَ النَّارِ الَّتِي كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ ٤٢

[34:42] So Today (i.e. the Day of Resurrection), none of you can profit or harm one another. And We shall say to those who did wrong [i.e. worshipped others (like angels, jinns, prophets, saints, righteous persons, etc.) along with Allah]: "Taste the torment of the Fire which you used to belie.

فَالْيَوْمَ لَا يَمْلِكُ بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ نَّفْعًا وَلَا ضَرًّا

So Today (i.e. the Day of Resurrection), none of you can profit or harm one another.

وَنَقُولُ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا

And We shall say to those who did wrong

ذُوقُوا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Taste the torment of the Fire

الَّتِي كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ

which you used to belie.

فَالْيَوْمَ

وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا بَيِّنَاتٍ قَالُوا مَا هَٰذَا إِلَّا رَجُلٌ يُرِيدُ أَن يَصُدَّكُمْ عَمَّا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ آبَاؤُكُمْ وَقَالُوا مَا هَٰذَا إِلَّا إِفْكٌ مُّفْتَرًى ۚ وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ ٤٣

[34:43] And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them, they say: "This (Muhammad SAW) is naught but a man who wishes to hinder you from that which your fathers used to worship." And they say: "This is nothing but an invented lie." And those who disbelieve say of the truth when it has come to them (i.e. Prophet Muhammad SAW when Allah sent him as a Messenger with proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, etc.): "This is nothing but evident magic!"

وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا بَيِّنَاتٍ

And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them,

قَالُوا مَا هَٰذَا إِلَّا رَجُلٌ يُرِيدُ أَن يَصُدَّكُمْ عَمَّا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ آبَاؤُكُمْ

they say: 'This (Muhammad SAW) is naught but a man who wishes to hinder you from that which your fathers used to worship.'

وَقَالُوا مَا هَٰذَا إِلَّا إِفْكٌ مُّفْتَرًى ۚ

And they say: 'This is nothing but an invented lie.'

وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ

And those who disbelieve say of the truth when it has come to them (i.e. Prophet Muhammad SAW when Allah sent him as a Messenger with proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, etc.):

إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا سِحْرٌ مُّبِينٌ

'This is nothing but evident magic!'

[34:44] And We had not given them Scriptures which they could study, nor sent to them before you (O Muhammad SAW) any warner (Messenger).

وَمَا آتَيْنَاهُم مِّن كُتُبٍ يَدْرُسُونَهَا ۖ

And We had not given them Scriptures which they could study

وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهِمْ قَبْلَكَ

nor sent to them before you

مِن نَّذِيرٍ

(O Muhammad SAW)

وَمَا

[34:45] And those before them belied; these have not received one tenth (1/10th) of what We had granted to those (of old), yet they belied My Messengers, then how (terrible) was My denial (punishment)!

وَكَذَّبَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ

And those before them belied;

وَمَا بَلَغُوا مِعْشَارَ مَا آتَيْنَاهُمْ

these have not received one tenth (1/10th) of what We had granted to those (of old),

فَكَذَّبُوا رُسُلِي ۖ

yet they belied My Messengers,

فَكَيْفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ

then how (terrible) was My denial (punishment)!

وَكَذَّبَ

۞ قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَعِظُكُم بِوَاحِدَةٍ ۖ أَن تَقُومُوا لِلَّهِ مَثْنَىٰ وَفُرَادَىٰ ثُمَّ تَتَفَكَّرُوا ۚ مَا بِصَاحِبِكُم مِّن جِنَّةٍ ۚ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ لَّكُم بَيْنَ يَدَيْ عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ ٤٦

[34:46] Say (to them O Muhammad SAW): "I exhort you on one (thing) only: that you stand up for Allah's sake in pairs and singly, and reflect (within yourselves the life history of the Prophet SAW): there is no madness in your companion (Muhammad SAW), he is only a warner to you in face of a severe torment."

۞ قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَعِظُكُم بِوَاحِدَةٍ ۖ

Say (to them O Muhammad SAW): 'I exhort you on one (thing) only:

أَن تَقُومُوا لِلَّهِ مَثْنَىٰ وَفُرَادَىٰ

that you stand up for Allah's sake in pairs and singly,

ثُمَّ تَتَفَكَّرُوا ۚ

and reflect (within yourselves

مَا بِصَاحِبِكُم مِّن جِنَّةٍ ۚ

the life history of the Prophet SAW): there is no madness in your companion (Muhammad SAW),

إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ لَّكُم

he is only a warner to you

بَيْنَ يَدَيْ عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ

in face of a severe torment.

۞ قُلْ

قُلْ مَا سَأَلْتُكُم مِّنْ أَجْرٍ فَهُوَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَى اللَّهِ ۖ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ ٤٧

[34:47] Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Whatever wage I might have asked of you is yours. My wage is from Allah only. and He is Witness over all things."

قُلْ مَا سَأَلْتُكُم مِّنْ أَجْرٍ

Say (O Muhammad SAW): 'Whatever wage I might have asked of you

فَهُوَ لَكُمْ ۖ

is yours.

إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَى اللَّهِ ۖ

My wage is from Allah only.

وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ

and He is Witness over all things.

[34:48] Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Verily! My Lord sends down Inspiration and makes apparent the truth (i.e. this Revelation that had come to me), the AllKnower of the Ghaib (unseen).

قُلْ

Say (O Muhammad SAW):

إِنَّ رَبِّي

Verily! My Lord

يَقْذِفُ بِالْحَقِّ

sends down Inspiration and makes apparent the truth

عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ

(i.e. this Revelation that had come to me), the All-Knower of the Ghaib (unseen).

[34:49] Say (O Muhammad SAW): "The truth (the Quran and Allah's Inspiration) has come, and AlBatil [falsehood - Iblis (Satan)] can neither create anything nor resurrect (anything)."

قُلْ جَاءَ الْحَقُّ

Say (O Muhammad SAW): 'The truth (the Quran and Allah's Inspiration) has come,

وَمَا يُبْدِئُ الْبَاطِلُ

and AlBatil [falsehood - Iblis (Satan)] can neither create anything

وَمَا يُعِيدُ

nor resurrect (anything).

قُلْ إِن ضَلَلْتُ فَإِنَّمَا أَضِلُّ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِي ۖ وَإِنِ اهْتَدَيْتُ فَبِمَا يُوحِي إِلَيَّ رَبِّي ۚ إِنَّهُ سَمِيعٌ قَرِيبٌ ٥٠

[34:50] Say: "If (even) I go astray, I shall stray only to my own loss. But if I remain guided, it is because of the Inspiration of my Lord to me. Truly, He is AllHearer, Ever Near (to all things)."

قُلْ إِن ضَلَلْتُ

Say: 'If (even) I go astray,

فَإِنَّمَا أَضِلُّ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِي ۖ

I shall stray only to my own loss.

وَإِنِ اهْتَدَيْتُ

But if I remain guided,

فَبِمَا يُوحِي إِلَيَّ رَبِّي ۚ

it is because of the Inspiration of my Lord to me.

إِنَّهُ سَمِيعٌ قَرِيبٌ

Truly, He is All-Hearer, Ever Near (to all things).

وَلَوْ تَرَىٰ إِذْ فَزِعُوا فَلَا فَوْتَ وَأُخِذُوا مِن مَّكَانٍ قَرِيبٍ ٥١

[34:51] And if you could but see, when they will be terrified with no escape (for them), and they will be seized from a near place.

وَلَوْ تَرَىٰ إِذْ فَزِعُوا

And if you could but see, when they will be terrified

فَلَا فَوْتَ وَأُخِذُوا

with no escape (for them), and they will be seized

مِن مَّكَانٍ قَرِيبٍ

from a near place.

وَلَوْ

وَقَالُوا آمَنَّا بِهِ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ التَّنَاوُشُ مِن مَّكَانٍ بَعِيدٍ ٥٢

[34:52] And they will say (in the Hereafter): "We do believe (now);" but how could they receive (Faith and the acceptance of their repentance by Allah) from a place so far off (i.e. to return to the worldly life again).

وَقَالُوا آمَنَّا بِهِ

And they will say (in the Hereafter): 'We do believe (now);'

وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ التَّنَاوُشُ

but how could they receive (Faith

مِن مَّكَانٍ بَعِيدٍ

and the acceptance of their repentance by Allah) from a place so far off (i.e. to return to the worldly life again).

وَقَالُوا

وَقَدْ كَفَرُوا بِهِ مِن قَبْلُ ۖ وَيَقْذِفُونَ بِالْغَيْبِ مِن مَّكَانٍ بَعِيدٍ ٥٣

[34:53] Indeed they did disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah, Islam, the Quran and Muhammad SAW) before (in this world), and they (used to) conjecture about the unseen [i.e. the Hereafter, Hell, Paradise, Resurrection and the Promise of Allah, etc. (by saying) all that is untrue], from a far place.

وَقَدْ كَفَرُوا بِهِ مِن قَبْلُ ۖ

Indeed they did disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah, Islam, the Quran and Muhammad SAW) before (in this world)

وَيَقْذِفُونَ بِالْغَيْبِ

and they (used to) conjecture about the unseen

مِن مَّكَانٍ بَعِيدٍ

from a far place

وَقَدْ

وَحِيلَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ مَا يَشْتَهُونَ كَمَا فُعِلَ بِأَشْيَاعِهِم مِّن قَبْلُ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا فِي شَكٍّ مُّرِيبٍ ٥٤

[34:54] And a barrier will be set between them and that which they desire [i.e. At-Taubah (turning to Allah in repentance) and the accepting of Faith etc.], as was done in the past with the people of their kind. Verily, they have been in grave doubt.

وَحِيلَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ مَا يَشْتَهُونَ

And a barrier will be set between them and that which they desire

كَمَا فُعِلَ بِأَشْيَاعِهِم مِّن قَبْلُ ۚ

as was done in the past with the people of their kind.

إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا فِي شَكٍّ مُّرِيبٍ

Verily, they have been in grave doubt.

وَحِيلَ
