[42:2] 'Ain-Sin-Qaf. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings].

كَذَٰلِكَ يُوحِي إِلَيْكَ وَإِلَى الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكَ اللَّهُ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ ٣

[42:3] Likewise Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise inspires you (O Muhammad SAW) as (He inspired) those before you.

كَذَٰلِكَ

Likewise

يُوحِي إِلَيْكَ

Allah inspires you (O Muhammad SAW)

وَإِلَى الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكَ

and (to) those before you

اللَّهُ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ

Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise

[42:4] To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, and He is the Most High, the Most Great.

لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ

To Him belongs all that is in the heavens

وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۖ

and all that is in the earth

وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ

and He is the Most High, the Most Great

تَكَادُ السَّمَاوَاتُ يَتَفَطَّرْنَ مِن فَوْقِهِنَّ ۚ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لِمَن فِي الْأَرْضِ ۗ أَلَا إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ ٥

[42:5] Nearly the heavens might rent asunder from above them (by His Majesty), and the angels glorify the praises of their Lord, and ask for forgiveness for those on the earth, verily, Allah is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

تَكَادُ السَّمَاوَاتُ يَتَفَطَّرْنَ مِن فَوْقِهِنَّ ۚ

Nearly the heavens might rent asunder from above them

وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ

وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لِمَن فِي الْأَرْضِ ۗ

وَالَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ اللَّهُ حَفِيظٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَمَا أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِوَكِيلٍ ٦

[42:6] And as for those who take as Auliya' (guardians, supporters, helpers, protectors, etc.) others besides Him [i.e. they take false deities other than Allah (as) protectors, and they worship them] Allah is Hafiz (Protector) over them (i.e. takes care of their deeds and will recompense them), and you (O Muhammad SAW) are not a Wakil (guardian or a disposer of their affairs) over them (to protect their deeds, etc.).

وَالَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ

And as for those who take as Auliya' (guardians, supporters, helpers, protectors, etc.) others besides Him

اللَّهُ حَفِيظٌ عَلَيْهِمْ

Allah is Hafiz (Protector) over them

وَمَا أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِوَكِيلٍ

and you (O Muhammad SAW) are not a Wakil (guardian or a disposer of their affairs) over them

وَالَّذِينَ

وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا لِّتُنذِرَ أُمَّ الْقُرَىٰ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهَا وَتُنذِرَ يَوْمَ الْجَمْعِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ ۚ فَرِيقٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَفَرِيقٌ فِي السَّعِيرِ ٧

[42:7] And thus We have inspired unto you (O Muhammad SAW) a Quran (in Arabic) that you may warn the Mother of the Towns (Makkah) and all around it. And warn of the Day of Assembling, of which there is no doubt, when a party will be in Paradise (those who believed in Allah and followed what Allah's Messenger SAW brought them) and a party in the blazing Fire (Hell) (those who disbelieved in Allah and followed not what Allah's Messenger SAW brought them).

وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ

And thus We have inspired unto you (O Muhammad SAW)

قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا

a Quran (in Arabic)

لِّتُنذِرَ أُمَّ الْقُرَىٰ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهَا

that you may warn the Mother of the Towns (Makkah) and all around it.

وَتُنذِرَ يَوْمَ الْجَمْعِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ ۚ

And warn of the Day of Assembling, of which there is no doubt,

فَرِيقٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

when a party will be in Paradise

وَفَرِيقٌ فِي السَّعِيرِ

and a party in the blazing Fire (Hell)

وَكَذَٰلِكَ

وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَجَعَلَهُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَلَٰكِن يُدْخِلُ مَن يَشَاءُ فِي رَحْمَتِهِ ۚ وَالظَّالِمُونَ مَا لَهُم مِّن وَلِيٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ ٨

[42:8] And if Allah had willed, He could have made them one nation, but He admits whom He wills to His Mercy. And the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.) will have neither a Wali (protector) nor a helper.

وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ

And if Allah had willed,

لَجَعَلَهُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً

He could have made them one nation,

وَلَٰكِن يُدْخِلُ مَن يَشَاءُ فِي رَحْمَتِهِ ۚ

but He admits whom He wills to His Mercy.

وَالظَّالِمُونَ

And the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.)

مَا لَهُم مِّن وَلِيٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ

will have neither a Wali (protector) nor a helper.

[42:9] Or have they taken (for worship) Auliya' (guardians, supporters, helpers, protectors, etc.) besides Him? But Allah, He Alone is the Wali (Protector, etc.). And it is He Who gives life to the dead, and He is Able to do all things.

أَمِ اتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ ۖ

فَاللَّهُ هُوَ الْوَلِيُّ

But Allah, He Alone is the Wali (Protector, etc.).

وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

and He is Able to do all things.

وَمَا اخْتَلَفْتُمْ فِيهِ مِن شَيْءٍ فَحُكْمُهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبِّي عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ ١٠

[42:10] And in whatsoever you differ, the decision thereof is with Allah (He is the ruling Judge). (And say O Muhammad SAW to these polytheists:) Such is Allah, my Lord in Whom I put my trust, and to Him I turn in all of my affairs and in repentance.

وَمَا اخْتَلَفْتُمْ فِيهِ مِن شَيْءٍ

And in whatsoever you differ,

فَحُكْمُهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ ۚ

the decision thereof is with Allah (He is the ruling Judge).

ذَٰلِكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبِّي

Such is Allah, my Lord

عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ

in Whom I put my trust,

وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ

and to Him I turn in all of my affairs and in repentance.

وَمَا

فَاطِرُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا وَمِنَ الْأَنْعَامِ أَزْوَاجًا ۖ يَذْرَؤُكُمْ فِيهِ ۚ لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ ۖ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ ١١

[42:11] The Creator of the heavens and the earth. He has made for you mates from yourselves, and for the cattle (also) mates. By this means He creates you (in the wombs). There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.

فَاطِرُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ

The Creator of the heavens and the earth.

جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا

He has made for you mates from yourselves,

وَمِنَ الْأَنْعَامِ أَزْوَاجًا ۖ

and for the cattle (also) mates.

يَذْرَؤُكُمْ فِيهِ ۚ

By this means He creates you (in the wombs).

لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ ۖ

There is nothing like unto Him,

وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ

and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.

فَاطِرُ

الْبَصِيرُ

لَهُ مَقَالِيدُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَاءُ وَيَقْدِرُ ۚ إِنَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ ١٢

[42:12] To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth, He enlarges provision for whom He wills, and straitens (it for whom He wills). Verily! He is the All-Knower of everything.

لَهُ مَقَالِيدُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ

To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth

يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَن يَشَاءُ

He enlarges provision for whom He wills

وَيَقْدِرُ ۚ

and straitens (it for whom He wills)

إِنَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ

Verily! He is the All-Knower of everything

۞ شَرَعَ لَكُم مِّنَ الدِّينِ مَا وَصَّىٰ بِهِ نُوحًا وَالَّذِي أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ وَمَا وَصَّيْنَا بِهِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ ۖ أَنْ أَقِيمُوا الدِّينَ وَلَا تَتَفَرَّقُوا فِيهِ ۚ كَبُرَ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ مَا تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَيْهِ ۚ اللَّهُ يَجْتَبِي إِلَيْهِ مَن يَشَاءُ وَيَهْدِي إِلَيْهِ مَن يُنِيبُ ١٣

[42:13] He (Allah) has ordained for you the same religion (Islam) which He ordained for Nuh (Noah), and that which We have inspired in you (O Muhammad SAW), and that which We ordained for Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses) and 'Iesa (Jesus) saying you should establish religion (i.e. to do what it orders you to do practically), and make no divisions in it (religion) (i.e. various sects in religion). Intolerable for the Mushrikun, is that to which you (O Muhammad SAW) call them. Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills, and guides unto Himself who turns to Him in repentance and in obedience.

۞ شَرَعَ لَكُم مِّنَ الدِّينِ

He (Allah) has ordained for you the same religion (Islam)

مَا وَصَّىٰ بِهِ نُوحًا

which He ordained for Nuh (Noah)

وَالَّذِي أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ

and that which We have inspired in you (O Muhammad SAW)

وَمَا وَصَّيْنَا بِهِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ

and that which We ordained for Ibrahim (Abraham)

وَمُوسَىٰ

Musa (Moses)

وَعِيسَىٰ ۖ

and 'Iesa (Jesus)

أَنْ أَقِيمُوا الدِّينَ

saying you should establish religion (i.e. to do what it orders you to do practically)

وَلَا تَتَفَرَّقُوا فِيهِ ۚ

and make no divisions in it (religion) (i.e. various sects in religion)

كَبُرَ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ

Intolerable for the Mushrikun

مَا تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَيْهِ ۚ

is that to which you (O Muhammad SAW) call them

اللَّهُ يَجْتَبِي إِلَيْهِ مَن يَشَاءُ

Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills

وَيَهْدِي إِلَيْهِ مَن يُنِيبُ

and guides unto Himself who turns to Him in repentance and in obedience

۞ شَرَعَ

وَمَا تَفَرَّقُوا إِلَّا مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَهُمُ الْعِلْمُ بَغْيًا بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِن رَّبِّكَ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى لَّقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ وَإِنَّ الَّذِينَ أُورِثُوا الْكِتَابَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ لَفِي شَكٍّ مِّنْهُ مُرِيبٍ ١٤

[42:14] And they divided not till after knowledge had come to them, through selfish transgression between themselves. And had it not been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord for an appointed term, the matter would have been settled between them. And verily, those who were made to inherit the Scripture [i.e. the Taurah (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] after them (i.e. Jews and Christians) are in grave doubt concerning it (i.e. Allah's true religion Islam or the Quran).

وَمَا تَفَرَّقُوا إِلَّا مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَهُمُ الْعِلْمُ

And they divided not till after knowledge had come to them,

بَغْيًا بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ

through selfish transgression between themselves.

وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِن رَّبِّكَ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى

And had it not been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord for an appointed term,

لَّقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ

the matter would have been settled between them.

وَإِنَّ الَّذِينَ أُورِثُوا الْكِتَابَ مِن بَعْدِهِمْ

And verily, those who were made to inherit the Scripture after them

لَفِي شَكٍّ مِّنْهُ مُرِيبٍ

are in grave doubt concerning it.

فَلِذَٰلِكَ فَادْعُ ۖ وَاسْتَقِمْ كَمَا أُمِرْتَ ۖ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ ۖ وَقُلْ آمَنتُ بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ مِن كِتَابٍ ۖ وَأُمِرْتُ لِأَعْدِلَ بَيْنَكُمُ ۖ اللَّهُ رَبُّنَا وَرَبُّكُمْ ۖ لَنَا أَعْمَالُنَا وَلَكُمْ أَعْمَالُكُمْ ۖ لَا حُجَّةَ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمُ ۖ اللَّهُ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَنَا ۖ وَإِلَيْهِ الْمَصِيرُ ١٥

[42:15] So unto this (religion of Islam, alone and this Quran) then invite (people) (O Muhammad SAW), and Istaqim [(i.e. stand firm and straight on Islamic Monotheism by performing all that is ordained by Allah (good deeds, etc.), and by abstaining from all that is forbidden by Allah (sins and evil deeds, etc.)], as you are commanded, and follow not their desires but say: "I believe in whatsoever Allah has sent down of the Book [all the holy Books, this Quran and the Books of the old from the Taurat (Torah), or the Injeel (Gospel) or the Pages of Ibrahim (Abraham)] and I am commanded to do justice among you, Allah is our Lord and your Lord. For us our deeds and for you your deeds. There is no dispute between us and you. Allah will assemble us (all), and to Him is the final return.

فَلِذَٰلِكَ فَادْعُ ۖ وَاسْتَقِمْ

So unto this (religion of Islam, alone and this Quran) then invite (people)

كَمَا أُمِرْتَ ۖ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ

and Istaqim [(i.e. stand firm and straight on Islamic Monotheism by performing all that is ordained by Allah (good deeds, etc.), and by abstaining from all that is forbidden by Allah (sins and evil deeds, etc.)], as you are commanded

أَهْوَاءَهُمْ ۖ وَقُلْ آمَنتُ بِمَا

and follow not their desires

أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ مِن كِتَابٍ ۖ وَأُمِرْتُ لِأَعْدِلَ بَيْنَكُمُ ۖ اللَّهُ

but say: 'I believe in whatsoever Allah has sent down of the Book

رَبُّنَا وَرَبُّكُمْ ۖ لَنَا أَعْمَالُنَا

and I am commanded to do justice among you

وَلَكُمْ أَعْمَالُكُمْ ۖ لَا حُجَّةَ

Allah is our Lord and your Lord

بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمُ ۖ اللَّهُ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَنَا ۖ

For us our deeds and for you your deeds

وَإِلَيْهِ الْمَصِيرُ

There is no dispute between us and you

فَلِذَٰلِكَ

وَالَّذِينَ يُحَاجُّونَ فِي اللَّهِ مِن بَعْدِ مَا اسْتُجِيبَ لَهُ حُجَّتُهُمْ دَاحِضَةٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَعَلَيْهِمْ غَضَبٌ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ ١٦

[42:16] And those who dispute concerning Allah (His Religion of Islamic Monotheism, with which Muhammad SAW has been sent), after it has been accepted (by the people), of no use is their dispute before their Lord, and on them is wrath, and for them will be a severe torment.

وَالَّذِينَ يُحَاجُّونَ فِي اللَّهِ

And those who dispute concerning Allah

مِن بَعْدِ مَا اسْتُجِيبَ لَهُ

after it has been accepted

حُجَّتُهُمْ دَاحِضَةٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ

of no use is their dispute before their Lord

وَعَلَيْهِمْ غَضَبٌ

and on them is wrath

وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ

and for them will be a severe torment

وَالَّذِينَ

[42:17] It is Allah Who has sent down the Book (the Quran) in truth, and the Balance (i.e. to act justly). And what can make you know that perhaps the Hour is close at hand?

اللَّهُ الَّذِي

It is Allah Who

أَنزَلَ الْكِتَابَ بِالْحَقِّ

has sent down the Book (the Quran) in truth,

وَالْمِيزَانَ ۗ

and the Balance (i.e. to act justly).

وَمَا يُدْرِيكَ

And what can make you know

لَعَلَّ السَّاعَةَ قَرِيبٌ

that perhaps the Hour is close at hand?

[42:18] Those who believe not therein seek to hasten it, while those who believe are fearful of it, and know that it is the very truth. Verily, those who dispute concerning the Hour are certainly in error far away.

يَسْتَعْجِلُ بِهَا الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهَا ۖ

Those who believe not therein seek to hasten it

وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مُشْفِقُونَ مِنْهَا

while those who believe are fearful of it

وَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهَا الْحَقُّ ۗ

and know that it is the very truth

أَلَا إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُمَارُونَ فِي السَّاعَةِ

Verily, those who dispute concerning the Hour

لَفِي ضَلَالٍ بَعِيدٍ

are certainly in error far away

[42:19] Allah is very Gracious and Kind to His slaves. He gives provisions to whom He wills. And He is the All-Strong, the All-Mighty.

اللَّهُ لَطِيفٌ بِعِبَادِهِ

Allah is very Gracious and Kind to His slaves.

يَرْزُقُ مَن يَشَاءُ ۖ

He gives provisions to whom He wills.

وَهُوَ الْقَوِيُّ الْعَزِيزُ

And He is the All-Strong, the All-Mighty.

مَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ حَرْثَ الْآخِرَةِ نَزِدْ لَهُ فِي حَرْثِهِ ۖ وَمَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ حَرْثَ الدُّنْيَا نُؤْتِهِ مِنْهَا وَمَا لَهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ مِن نَّصِيبٍ ٢٠

[42:20] Whosoever desires (with his deeds) the reward of the Hereafter, We give him increase in his reward, and whosoever desires the reward of this world (with his deeds), We give him thereof (what is written for him), and he has no portion in the Hereafter.

مَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ حَرْثَ الْآخِرَةِ

Whosoever desires (with his deeds) the reward of the Hereafter,

نَزِدْ لَهُ فِي حَرْثِهِ ۖ

We give him increase in his reward,

وَمَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ حَرْثَ الدُّنْيَا

and whosoever desires the reward of this world (with his deeds),

نُؤْتِهِ مِنْهَا

We give him thereof (what is written for him),

وَمَا لَهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ مِن نَّصِيبٍ

and he has no portion in the Hereafter.

[42:21] Or have they partners with Allah (false gods), who have instituted for them a religion which Allah has not allowed. And had it not been for a decisive Word (gone forth already), the matter would have been judged between them. And verily, for the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers), there is a painful torment.

أَمْ لَهُمْ شُرَكَاءُ

Or have they partners with Allah (false gods),

شَرَعُوا لَهُم مِّنَ الدِّينِ

who have instituted for them a religion

مَا لَمْ يَأْذَن بِهِ اللَّهُ ۚ

which Allah has not allowed.

وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةُ الْفَصْلِ

And had it not been for a decisive Word (gone forth already),

لَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ ۗ

the matter would have been judged between them.

وَإِنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ

And verily, for the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers),

there is a painful torment.

تَرَى الظَّالِمِينَ مُشْفِقِينَ مِمَّا كَسَبُوا وَهُوَ وَاقِعٌ بِهِمْ ۗ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ فِي رَوْضَاتِ الْجَنَّاتِ ۖ لَهُم مَّا يَشَاءُونَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الْفَضْلُ الْكَبِيرُ ٢٢

[42:22] You will see (on the Day of Resurrection), the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.) fearful of that which they have earned, and it (Allah's Torment) will surely befall them, while those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous deeds (will be) in the flowering meadows of the Gardens (Paradise), having what they wish from their Lord. That is the supreme Grace, (Paradise).

تَرَى الظَّالِمِينَ

You will see (on the Day of Resurrection), the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.)

مُشْفِقِينَ مِمَّا كَسَبُوا

fearful of that which they have earned

وَهُوَ وَاقِعٌ بِهِمْ ۗ

and it (Allah's Torment) will surely befall them

وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ

while those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous deeds

فِي رَوْضَاتِ الْجَنَّاتِ ۖ

(will be) in the flowering meadows of the Gardens (Paradise)

لَهُم مَّا يَشَاءُونَ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ ۚ

having what they wish from their Lord

ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الْفَضْلُ الْكَبِيرُ

That is the supreme Grace, (Paradise)

ذَٰلِكَ الَّذِي يُبَشِّرُ اللَّهُ عِبَادَهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ ۗ قُل لَّا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا إِلَّا الْمَوَدَّةَ فِي الْقُرْبَىٰ ۗ وَمَن يَقْتَرِفْ حَسَنَةً نَّزِدْ لَهُ فِيهَا حُسْنًا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ شَكُورٌ ٢٣

[42:23] That is (the Paradise) whereof Allah gives glad tidings to His slaves who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds. Say (O Muhammad SAW): "No reward do I ask of you for this except to be kind to me for my kinship with you." And whoever earns a good righteous deed, We shall give him an increase of good in respect thereof. Verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Ready to appreciate (the deeds of those who are obedient to Him).

ذَٰلِكَ الَّذِي يُبَشِّرُ اللَّهُ عِبَادَهُ

That is (the Paradise) whereof Allah gives glad tidings to His slaves

الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ ۗ

who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds.

قُل لَّا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ أَجْرًا

Say (O Muhammad SAW): 'No reward do I ask of you for this

إِلَّا الْمَوَدَّةَ فِي الْقُرْبَىٰ ۗ

except to be kind to me for my kinship with you.'

وَمَن يَقْتَرِفْ حَسَنَةً

And whoever earns a good righteous deed,

نَّزِدْ لَهُ فِيهَا حُسْنًا ۚ

We shall give him an increase of good in respect thereof.

إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ شَكُورٌ

Verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Ready to appreciate (the deeds of those who are obedient to Him).

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ افْتَرَىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا ۖ فَإِن يَشَإِ اللَّهُ يَخْتِمْ عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ ۗ وَيَمْحُ اللَّهُ الْبَاطِلَ وَيُحِقُّ الْحَقَّ بِكَلِمَاتِهِ ۚ إِنَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ ٢٤

[42:24] Or say they: "He has invented a lie against Allah?" If Allah willed, He could have sealed your heart (so that you forget all that you know of the Quran). And Allah wipes out falsehood, and establishes the truth (Islam) by His Word (this Qur'an). Verily, He knows well what (the secrets) are in the breasts (of mankind).

أَمْ يَقُولُونَ افْتَرَىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا ۖ

Or say they: 'He has invented a lie against Allah?'

فَإِن يَشَإِ اللَّهُ يَخْتِمْ عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ ۗ

If Allah willed, He could have sealed your heart (so that you forget all that you know of the Quran).

وَيَمْحُ اللَّهُ الْبَاطِلَ وَيُحِقُّ الْحَقَّ بِكَلِمَاتِهِ ۚ

[42:25] And He it is Who accepts repentance from His slaves, and forgives sins, and He knows what you do.

وَهُوَ الَّذِي

And He it is Who

يَقْبَلُ التَّوْبَةَ عَنْ عِبَادِهِ

accepts repentance from His slaves

وَيَعْفُو عَنِ السَّيِّئَاتِ

and forgives sins

وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ

and He knows what you do

[42:26] And He answers (the invocation of) those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, and gives them increase of His Bounty. And as for the disbelievers, theirs will be a severe torment.

وَيَسْتَجِيبُ

And He answers

الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا

those who believe

وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ

and do righteous good deeds

وَيَزِيدُهُم مِّن فَضْلِهِ ۚ

and gives them increase of His Bounty

وَالْكَافِرُونَ

And as for the disbelievers

لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ

theirs will be a severe torment

وَيَسْتَجِيبُ

۞ وَلَوْ بَسَطَ اللَّهُ الرِّزْقَ لِعِبَادِهِ لَبَغَوْا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَٰكِن يُنَزِّلُ بِقَدَرٍ مَّا يَشَاءُ ۚ إِنَّهُ بِعِبَادِهِ خَبِيرٌ بَصِيرٌ ٢٧

[42:27] And if Allah were to enlarge the provision for His slaves, they would surely rebel in the earth, but He sends down by measure as He wills. Verily! He is in respect of His slaves, the Well-Aware, the All-Seer (of things that benefit them).

۞ وَلَوْ بَسَطَ اللَّهُ الرِّزْقَ لِعِبَادِهِ

And if Allah were to enlarge the provision for His slaves,

لَبَغَوْا فِي الْأَرْضِ

وَلَٰكِن يُنَزِّلُ بِقَدَرٍ مَّا يَشَاءُ ۚ

Verily! He is in respect of His slaves, the Well-Aware, the All-Seer (of things that benefit them).

[42:28] And He it is Who sends down the rain after they have despaired, and spreads abroad His Mercy. And He is the Wali (Helper, Supporter, Protector, etc.), Worthy of all Praise.

وَهُوَ الَّذِي

And He it is Who

يُنَزِّلُ الْغَيْثَ

sends down the rain

مِن بَعْدِ مَا قَنَطُوا

after they have despaired

وَيَنشُرُ رَحْمَتَهُ ۚ

and spreads abroad His Mercy.

وَهُوَ الْوَلِيُّ الْحَمِيدُ

And He is the Wali (Helper, Supporter, Protector, etc.), Worthy of all Praise.

وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ خَلْقُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَثَّ فِيهِمَا مِن دَابَّةٍ ۚ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ جَمْعِهِمْ إِذَا يَشَاءُ قَدِيرٌ ٢٩

[42:29] And among His Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.) is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and whatever moving (living) creatures He has dispersed in them both. And He is All-Potent over their assembling (i.e. resurrecting them on the Day of Resurrection after their death, and dispersion of their bodies) whenever He will.

وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ

And among His Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.)

خَلْقُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ

is the creation of the heavens and the earth,

وَمَا بَثَّ فِيهِمَا مِن دَابَّةٍ ۚ

and whatever moving (living) creatures He has dispersed in them both.

وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ جَمْعِهِمْ إِذَا يَشَاءُ قَدِيرٌ

And He is All-Potent over their assembling (i.e. resurrecting them on the Day of Resurrection after their death, and dispersion of their bodies) whenever He will.

وَمَا أَصَابَكُم مِّن مُّصِيبَةٍ فَبِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَيَعْفُو عَن كَثِيرٍ ٣٠

[42:30] And whatever of misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much. (See the Quran Verse 35:45).

وَمَا أَصَابَكُم مِّن مُّصِيبَةٍ

And whatever of misfortune befalls you,

فَبِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ

it is because of what your hands have earned.

وَيَعْفُو عَن كَثِيرٍ

And He pardons much.

وَمَا

وَمَا أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ۖ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ ٣١

[42:31] And you cannot escape from Allah (i.e. His Punishment) in the earth, and besides Allah you have neither any Wali (guardian or a protector) nor any helper.

وَمَا أَنتُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ۖ

And you cannot escape from Allah (i.e. His Punishment) in the earth,

وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ

and besides Allah

مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ

you have neither any Wali (guardian or a protector) nor any helper.

وَمَا

[42:32] And among His Signs are the ships, in the sea, like mountains.

إِن يَشَأْ يُسْكِنِ الرِّيحَ فَيَظْلَلْنَ رَوَاكِدَ عَلَىٰ ظَهْرِهِ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ ٣٣

[42:33] If He wills, He causes the wind to cease, then they would become motionless on the back (of the sea). Verily, in this are signs for everyone patient and grateful.

إِن يَشَأْ

If He wills,

يُسْكِنِ الرِّيحَ

He causes the wind to cease,

فَيَظْلَلْنَ رَوَاكِدَ عَلَىٰ ظَهْرِهِ ۚ

then they would become motionless on the back (of the sea).

إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ

Verily, in this

لَآيَاتٍ

are signs

لِّكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ

for everyone patient and grateful.

إِن

[42:34] Or He may destroy them (by drowning) because of that which their (people) have earned. And He pardons much.

أَوْ يُوبِقْهُنَّ

Or He may destroy them

وَيَعْفُ عَن كَثِيرٍ

And He pardons much.

[42:35] And those who dispute (polytheists, etc. with Our Messenger Muhammad SAW) as regards Our Ayat (proofs, signs, verses, etc. of Islamic Monotheism) may know that there is no place of refuge for them (from Allah's punishment).

وَيَعْلَمَ الَّذِينَ يُجَادِلُونَ

And those who dispute

فِي آيَاتِنَا

as regards Our Ayat

مَا لَهُم مِّن مَّحِيصٍ

may know that there is no place of refuge for them (from Allah's punishment)

وَيَعْلَمَ

فَمَا أُوتِيتُم مِّن شَيْءٍ فَمَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَمَا عِندَ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ ٣٦

[42:36] So whatever you have been given is but a passing enjoyment for this worldly life, but that which is with Allah (Paradise) is better and more lasting for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and put their trust in their Lord (concerning all of their affairs).

فَمَا أُوتِيتُم مِّن شَيْءٍ

So whatever you have been given

فَمَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ

is but a passing enjoyment for this worldly life,

وَمَا عِندَ اللَّهِ

but that which is with Allah (Paradise)

خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ

is better and more lasting

لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا

for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism)

وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ

and put their trust in their Lord (concerning all of their affairs).

فَمَا

وَالَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَائِرَ الْإِثْمِ وَالْفَوَاحِشَ وَإِذَا مَا غَضِبُوا هُمْ يَغْفِرُونَ ٣٧

[42:37] And those who avoid the greater sins, and Al-Fawahish (illegal sexual intercourse, etc.), and when they are angry, they forgive

وَالَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ

And those who avoid

كَبَائِرَ الْإِثْمِ

the greater sins,

وَالْفَوَاحِشَ

and Al-Fawahish (illegal sexual intercourse, etc.),

وَإِذَا مَا غَضِبُوا

and when they are angry,

هُمْ يَغْفِرُونَ

they forgive.

وَالَّذِينَ

وَالَّذِينَ اسْتَجَابُوا لِرَبِّهِمْ وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَأَمْرُهُمْ شُورَىٰ بَيْنَهُمْ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ ٣٨

[42:38] And those who answer the Call of their Lord [i.e. to believe that He is the only One Lord (Allah), and to worship none but Him Alone], and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and who (conduct) their affairs by mutual consultation, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them;

وَالَّذِينَ اسْتَجَابُوا لِرَبِّهِمْ

And those who answer the Call of their Lord

وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ

and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat)

وَأَمْرُهُمْ شُورَىٰ بَيْنَهُمْ

and who (conduct) their affairs by mutual consultation

وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ

and who spend of what We have bestowed on them

وَالَّذِينَ

[42:39] And those who, when an oppressive wrong is done to them, they take revenge.

وَالَّذِينَ

وَجَزَاءُ سَيِّئَةٍ سَيِّئَةٌ مِّثْلُهَا ۖ فَمَنْ عَفَا وَأَصْلَحَ فَأَجْرُهُ عَلَى اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الظَّالِمِينَ ٤٠

[42:40] The recompense for an evil is an evil like thereof, but whoever forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah. Verily, He likes not the Zalimun (oppressors, polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.).

وَجَزَاءُ سَيِّئَةٍ سَيِّئَةٌ مِّثْلُهَا ۖ

فَمَنْ عَفَا وَأَصْلَحَ

but whoever forgives and makes reconciliation

فَأَجْرُهُ عَلَى اللَّهِ ۚ

[42:41] And indeed whosoever takes revenge after he has suffered wrong, for such there is no way (of blame) against them.

وَلَمَنِ انتَصَرَ

فَأُولَٰئِكَ

for such

[42:42] The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress men and wrongly rebel in the earth, for such there will be a painful torment.

إِنَّمَا السَّبِيلُ

The way (of blame) is only against

عَلَى الَّذِينَ يَظْلِمُونَ النَّاسَ

those who oppress men

وَيَبْغُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ ۚ

and wrongly rebel in the earth

أُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ

for such there will be a painful torment

[42:43] And verily, whosoever shows patience and forgives that would truly be from the things recommended by Allah.

وَلَمَن صَبَرَ وَغَفَرَ

And verily, whosoever shows patience and forgives

إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ لَمِنْ عَزْمِ الْأُمُورِ

that would truly be from the things recommended by Allah.

وَلَمَن

وَمَن يُضْلِلِ اللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُ مِن وَلِيٍّ مِّن بَعْدِهِ ۗ وَتَرَى الظَّالِمِينَ لَمَّا رَأَوُا الْعَذَابَ يَقُولُونَ هَلْ إِلَىٰ مَرَدٍّ مِّن سَبِيلٍ ٤٤

[42:44] And whomsoever Allah sends astray, for him there is no Wali (protector) after Him. And you will see the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, oppressors, etc.) when they behold the torment, they will say: "Is there any way of return (to the world)?"

وَمَن يُضْلِلِ اللَّهُ

And whomsoever Allah sends astray,

فَمَا لَهُ مِن وَلِيٍّ مِّن بَعْدِهِ ۗ

for him there is no Wali (protector) after Him.

وَتَرَى الظَّالِمِينَ

And you will see the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, oppressors, etc.)

لَمَّا رَأَوُا الْعَذَابَ

when they behold the torment,

يَقُولُونَ

they will say:

هَلْ إِلَىٰ مَرَدٍّ مِّن سَبِيلٍ

"Is there any way of return (to the world)?"

وَمَن

وَتَرَاهُمْ يُعْرَضُونَ عَلَيْهَا خَاشِعِينَ مِنَ الذُّلِّ يَنظُرُونَ مِن طَرْفٍ خَفِيٍّ ۗ وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّ الْخَاسِرِينَ الَّذِينَ خَسِرُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَهْلِيهِمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۗ أَلَا إِنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ فِي عَذَابٍ مُّقِيمٍ ٤٥

[42:45] And you will see them brought forward to it (Hell) made humble by disgrace, (and) looking with stealthy glance. And those who believe will say: "Verily, the losers are they who lose themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Verily, the Zalimun [i.e. Al-Kafirun (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness and in His Messenger SAW, polytheists, wrong-doers, etc.)] will be in a lasting torment.

وَتَرَاهُمْ يُعْرَضُونَ عَلَيْهَا

And you will see them brought forward to it (Hell)

خَاشِعِينَ مِنَ الذُّلِّ

made humble by disgrace

يَنظُرُونَ مِن طَرْفٍ خَفِيٍّ ۗ

and looking with stealthy glance.

وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا

And those who believe will say:

إِنَّ الْخَاسِرِينَ

Verily, the losers are they

الَّذِينَ خَسِرُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَهْلِيهِمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۗ

who lose themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection.

أَلَا إِنَّ الظَّالِمِينَ فِي عَذَابٍ مُّقِيمٍ

Verily, the Zalimun [i.e. Al-Kafirun (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness and in His Messenger SAW, polytheists, wrong-doers, etc.)] will be in a lasting torment.

وَتَرَاهُمْ

[42:46] And they will have no Auliya' (protectors) to help them other than Allah. And he whom Allah sends astray, for him there is no way.

وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّنْ أَوْلِيَاءَ يَنصُرُونَهُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ ۗ

And they will have no Auliya' (protectors) to help them other than Allah.

وَمَن يُضْلِلِ اللَّهُ

And he whom Allah sends astray,

فَمَا لَهُ مِن سَبِيلٍ

for him there is no way.

وَمَا

اسْتَجِيبُوا لِرَبِّكُم مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَ يَوْمٌ لَّا مَرَدَّ لَهُ مِنَ اللَّهِ ۚ مَا لَكُم مِّن مَّلْجَإٍ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّكِيرٍ ٤٧

[42:47] Answer the Call of your Lord (i.e. accept the Islamic Monotheism, O mankind, and jinns) before there comes from Allah a Day which cannot be averted. You will have no refuge on that Day nor there will be for you any denying (of your crimes as they are all recorded in the Book of your deeds).

اسْتَجِيبُوا لِرَبِّكُم

Answer the Call of your Lord

مِّن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَ يَوْمٌ لَّا مَرَدَّ لَهُ مِنَ اللَّهِ ۚ

before there comes from Allah a Day which cannot be averted

مَا لَكُم مِّن مَّلْجَإٍ يَوْمَئِذٍ

You will have no refuge on that Day

وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّكِيرٍ

nor there will be for you any denying (of your crimes as they are all recorded in the Book of your deeds)

فَإِنْ أَعْرَضُوا فَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَفِيظًا ۖ إِنْ عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا الْبَلَاغُ ۗ وَإِنَّا إِذَا أَذَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ مِنَّا رَحْمَةً فَرِحَ بِهَا ۖ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ فَإِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ كَفُورٌ ٤٨

[42:48] But if they turn away (O Muhammad SAW from the Islamic Monotheism, which you have brought to them). We have not sent you (O Muhammad SAW) as a Hafiz (protector) over them (i.e. to take care of their deeds and to recompense them). Your duty is to convey (the Message). And verily, when We cause man to taste of Mercy from Us, he rejoices thereat, but when some ill befalls them because of the deeds which their hands have sent forth, then verily, man (becomes) ingrate!

فَإِنْ أَعْرَضُوا

But if they turn away

فَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ عَلَيْهِمْ حَفِيظًا ۖ

We have not sent you as a Hafiz (protector) over them

إِنْ عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا الْبَلَاغُ ۗ

Your duty is to convey (the Message)

وَإِنَّا إِذَا أَذَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ مِنَّا رَحْمَةً

And verily, when We cause man to taste of Mercy from Us

فَرِحَ بِهَا ۖ

he rejoices thereat

وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ

but when some ill befalls them

بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ

because of the deeds which their hands have sent forth

فَإِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ كَفُورٌ

then verily, man (becomes) ingrate

فَإِنْ

كَفُورٌ

لِّلَّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَاءُ ۚ يَهَبُ لِمَن يَشَاءُ إِنَاثًا وَيَهَبُ لِمَن يَشَاءُ الذُّكُورَ ٤٩

[42:49] To Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. He creates what He wills. He bestows female (offspring) upon whom He wills, and bestows male (offspring) upon whom He wills.

لِّلَّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ

To Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth.

يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَاءُ ۚ

He creates what He wills.

يَهَبُ لِمَن يَشَاءُ إِنَاثًا

He bestows female (offspring) upon whom He wills,

وَيَهَبُ لِمَن يَشَاءُ الذُّكُورَ

and bestows male (offspring) upon whom He wills.

لِّلَّهِ

أَوْ يُزَوِّجُهُمْ ذُكْرَانًا وَإِنَاثًا ۖ وَيَجْعَلُ مَن يَشَاءُ عَقِيمًا ۚ إِنَّهُ عَلِيمٌ قَدِيرٌ ٥٠

[42:50] Or He bestows both males and females, and He renders barren whom He wills. Verily, He is the All-Knower and is Able to do all things.

أَوْ يُزَوِّجُهُمْ

Or He bestows

ذُكْرَانًا وَإِنَاثًا ۖ

both males and females

وَيَجْعَلُ مَن يَشَاءُ عَقِيمًا ۚ

and He renders barren whom He wills

إِنَّهُ عَلِيمٌ قَدِيرٌ

Verily, He is the All-Knower and is Able to do all things

أَوْ

۞ وَمَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَن يُكَلِّمَهُ اللَّهُ إِلَّا وَحْيًا أَوْ مِن وَرَاءِ حِجَابٍ أَوْ يُرْسِلَ رَسُولًا فَيُوحِيَ بِإِذْنِهِ مَا يَشَاءُ ۚ إِنَّهُ عَلِيٌّ حَكِيمٌ ٥١

[42:51] It is not given to any human being that Allah should speak to him unless (it be) by Inspiration, or from behind a veil, or (that) He sends a Messenger to reveal what He wills by His Leave. Verily, He is Most High, Most Wise.

۞ وَمَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ

It is not given to any human being

أَن يُكَلِّمَهُ اللَّهُ

that Allah should speak to him

إِلَّا وَحْيًا

unless (it be) by Inspiration,

أَوْ مِن وَرَاءِ حِجَابٍ

or from behind a veil,

أَوْ يُرْسِلَ رَسُولًا

or (that) He sends a Messenger

فَيُوحِيَ بِإِذْنِهِ مَا يَشَاءُ ۚ

to reveal what He wills by His Leave.

إِنَّهُ عَلِيٌّ حَكِيمٌ

Verily, He is Most High, Most Wise.

وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ رُوحًا مِّنْ أَمْرِنَا ۚ مَا كُنتَ تَدْرِي مَا الْكِتَابُ وَلَا الْإِيمَانُ وَلَٰكِن جَعَلْنَاهُ نُورًا نَّهْدِي بِهِ مَن نَّشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ۚ وَإِنَّكَ لَتَهْدِي إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ ٥٢

[42:52] And thus We have sent to you (O Muhammad SAW) Ruhan (an Inspiration, and a Mercy) of Our Command. You knew not what is the Book, nor what is Faith? But We have made it (this Quran) a light wherewith We guide whosoever of Our slaves We will. And verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) are indeed guiding (mankind) to the Straight Path (i.e. Allah's religion of Islamic Monotheism).

وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ رُوحًا مِّنْ أَمْرِنَا ۚ

And thus We have sent to you (O Muhammad SAW) Ruhan (an Inspiration, and a Mercy) of Our Command.

مَا كُنتَ تَدْرِي مَا الْكِتَابُ وَلَا الْإِيمَانُ

You knew not what is the Book, nor what is Faith?

وَلَٰكِن جَعَلْنَاهُ نُورًا

But We have made it (this Quran) a light

نَّهْدِي بِهِ مَن نَّشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ۚ

wherewith We guide whosoever of Our slaves We will.

وَإِنَّكَ لَتَهْدِي إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

And verily, you (O Muhammad SAW) are indeed guiding (mankind) to the Straight Path (i.e. Allah's religion of Islamic Monotheism).

وَكَذَٰلِكَ

صِرَاطِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۗ أَلَا إِلَى اللَّهِ تَصِيرُ الْأُمُورُ ٥٣

[42:53] The Path of Allah, to Whom belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. Verily, all the matters at the end go to Allah (for decision).

صِرَاطِ اللَّهِ

The Path of Allah,

الَّذِي لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۗ

to Whom belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth.

أَلَا إِلَى اللَّهِ تَصِيرُ الْأُمُورُ

Verily, all the matters at the end go to Allah (for decision).
