وَاذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا أَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الشَّيْطَانُ بِنُصْبٍ وَعَذَابٍ ٤١
And remember Our slave Ayub (Job), when he invoked his Lord (saying): "Verily! Shaitan (Satan) has touched me with distress (by losing my health) and torment (by losing my wealth)!
- وَاذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا أَيُّوبَ
- And remember Our slave Ayub (Job)
- إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُ
- when he invoked his Lord
- أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الشَّيْطَانُ
- saying: 'Verily! Shaitan (Satan) has touched me
- بِنُصْبٍ وَعَذَابٍ
- with distress (by losing my health) and torment (by losing my wealth)'
ارْكُضْ بِرِجْلِكَ ۖ هَٰذَا مُغْتَسَلٌ بَارِدٌ وَشَرَابٌ ٤٢
(Allah said to him): "Strike the ground with your foot: This is a spring of water to wash in, cool and a (refreshing) drink."
- ارْكُضْ بِرِجْلِكَ ۖ
- (Allah said to him): 'Strike the ground with your foot:'
- هَٰذَا مُغْتَسَلٌ بَارِدٌ
- This is a spring of water to wash in, cool
- وَشَرَابٌ
- and a (refreshing) drink.
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ أَهْلَهُ وَمِثْلَهُم مَّعَهُمْ رَحْمَةً مِّنَّا وَذِكْرَىٰ لِأُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ ٤٣
And We gave him (back) his family, and along with them the like thereof, as a Mercy from Us, and a Reminder for those who understand.
- وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ أَهْلَهُ
- And We gave him (back) his family
- وَمِثْلَهُم مَّعَهُمْ
- and along with them the like thereof
- رَحْمَةً مِّنَّا
- as a Mercy from Us
- وَذِكْرَىٰ لِأُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ
- and a Reminder for those who understand
وَخُذْ بِيَدِكَ ضِغْثًا فَاضْرِب بِّهِ وَلَا تَحْنَثْ ۗ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَاهُ صَابِرًا ۚ نِّعْمَ الْعَبْدُ ۖ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ ٤٤
"And take in your hand a bundle of thin grass and strike therewith (your wife), and break not your oath. Truly! We found him patient. How excellent (a) slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)!
- وَخُذْ بِيَدِكَ ضِغْثًا
- And take in your hand a bundle of thin grass
- فَاضْرِب بِّهِ
- and strike therewith (your wife)
- وَلَا تَحْنَثْ ۗ
- and break not your oath
- إِنَّا وَجَدْنَاهُ صَابِرًا ۚ
- Truly! We found him patient
- نِّعْمَ الْعَبْدُ ۖ
- How excellent (a) slave
- إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ
- Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)
