كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ ذُو الْأَوْتَادِ ١٢

Before them (were many who) belied Messengers, the people of Nuh (Noah); and 'Ad; and Fir'aun (Pharaoh) the man of stakes (with which he used to punish the people),

كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ
Before them (were many who) belied
قَوْمُ نُوحٍ
the people of Nuh (Noah);
وَعَادٌ
and 'Ad;
وَفِرْعَوْنُ
and Fir'aun (Pharaoh)
ذُو الْأَوْتَادِ
the man of stakes (with which he used to punish the people),

وَثَمُودُ وَقَوْمُ لُوطٍ وَأَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ الْأَحْزَابُ ١٣

And Thamud, and the people of Lout (Lot), and the dwellers of the wood; such were the confederates.

وَثَمُودُ
And Thamud,
وَقَوْمُ لُوطٍ
and the people of Lout (Lot),
وَأَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ ۚ
and the dwellers of the wood;
أُولَٰئِكَ الْأَحْزَابُ
such were the confederates.

إِن كُلٌّ إِلَّا كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ عِقَابِ ١٤

Not one of them but belied the Messengers, therefore My Torment was justified,

إِن كُلٌّ إِلَّا كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ
Not one of them but belied the Messengers
فَحَقَّ عِقَابِ
therefore My Torment was justified

وَمَا يَنظُرُ هَٰؤُلَاءِ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً مَّا لَهَا مِن فَوَاقٍ ١٥

And these only wait for a single Saihah [shout (i.e. the blowing of the Trumpet by the angel Israfil Sarafil)] there will be no pause or ending thereto [till everything will perish except Allah (the only God full of Majesty, Bounty and Honour)].

وَمَا يَنظُرُ هَٰؤُلَاءِ
And these only wait for
إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً
a single Saihah [shout]
مَّا لَهَا مِن فَوَاقٍ
there will be no pause or ending thereto
[till everything will perish except Allah (the only God full of Majesty, Bounty and Honour)]

وَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا عَجِّل لَّنَا قِطَّنَا قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْحِسَابِ ١٦

They say: "Our Lord! Hasten to us Qittana (i.e. our Record of good and bad deeds so that we see it) before the Day of Reckoning!"

وَقَالُوا
They say:
رَبَّنَا
Our Lord!
عَجِّل لَّنَا
Hasten to us
قِطَّنَا
Qittana (i.e. our Record of good and bad deeds so that we see it)
قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْحِسَابِ
before the Day of Reckoning!
