۞ قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَعِظُكُم بِوَاحِدَةٍ ۖ أَن تَقُومُوا لِلَّهِ مَثْنَىٰ وَفُرَادَىٰ ثُمَّ تَتَفَكَّرُوا ۚ مَا بِصَاحِبِكُم مِّن جِنَّةٍ ۚ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ لَّكُم بَيْنَ يَدَيْ عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ ٤٦

Say (to them O Muhammad SAW): "I exhort you on one (thing) only: that you stand up for Allah's sake in pairs and singly, and reflect (within yourselves the life history of the Prophet SAW): there is no madness in your companion (Muhammad SAW), he is only a warner to you in face of a severe torment."

۞ قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَعِظُكُم بِوَاحِدَةٍ ۖ
Say (to them O Muhammad SAW): 'I exhort you on one (thing) only:
أَن تَقُومُوا لِلَّهِ مَثْنَىٰ وَفُرَادَىٰ
that you stand up for Allah's sake in pairs and singly,
ثُمَّ تَتَفَكَّرُوا ۚ
and reflect (within yourselves
مَا بِصَاحِبِكُم مِّن جِنَّةٍ ۚ
the life history of the Prophet SAW): there is no madness in your companion (Muhammad SAW),
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ لَّكُم
he is only a warner to you
بَيْنَ يَدَيْ عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ
in face of a severe torment.

قُلْ مَا سَأَلْتُكُم مِّنْ أَجْرٍ فَهُوَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَى اللَّهِ ۖ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ ٤٧

Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Whatever wage I might have asked of you is yours. My wage is from Allah only. and He is Witness over all things."

قُلْ مَا سَأَلْتُكُم مِّنْ أَجْرٍ
Say (O Muhammad SAW): 'Whatever wage I might have asked of you
فَهُوَ لَكُمْ ۖ
is yours.
إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَى اللَّهِ ۖ
My wage is from Allah only.
وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ
and He is Witness over all things.

قُلْ إِنَّ رَبِّي يَقْذِفُ بِالْحَقِّ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ ٤٨

Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Verily! My Lord sends down Inspiration and makes apparent the truth (i.e. this Revelation that had come to me), the AllKnower of the Ghaib (unseen).

قُلْ
Say (O Muhammad SAW):
إِنَّ رَبِّي
Verily! My Lord
يَقْذِفُ بِالْحَقِّ
sends down Inspiration and makes apparent the truth
عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ
(i.e. this Revelation that had come to me), the All-Knower of the Ghaib (unseen).

قُلْ جَاءَ الْحَقُّ وَمَا يُبْدِئُ الْبَاطِلُ وَمَا يُعِيدُ ٤٩

Say (O Muhammad SAW): "The truth (the Quran and Allah's Inspiration) has come, and AlBatil [falsehood - Iblis (Satan)] can neither create anything nor resurrect (anything)."

قُلْ جَاءَ الْحَقُّ
Say (O Muhammad SAW): 'The truth (the Quran and Allah's Inspiration) has come,
وَمَا يُبْدِئُ الْبَاطِلُ
and AlBatil [falsehood - Iblis (Satan)] can neither create anything
وَمَا يُعِيدُ
nor resurrect (anything).

قُلْ إِن ضَلَلْتُ فَإِنَّمَا أَضِلُّ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِي ۖ وَإِنِ اهْتَدَيْتُ فَبِمَا يُوحِي إِلَيَّ رَبِّي ۚ إِنَّهُ سَمِيعٌ قَرِيبٌ ٥٠

Say: "If (even) I go astray, I shall stray only to my own loss. But if I remain guided, it is because of the Inspiration of my Lord to me. Truly, He is AllHearer, Ever Near (to all things)."

قُلْ إِن ضَلَلْتُ
Say: 'If (even) I go astray,
فَإِنَّمَا أَضِلُّ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِي ۖ
I shall stray only to my own loss.
وَإِنِ اهْتَدَيْتُ
But if I remain guided,
فَبِمَا يُوحِي إِلَيَّ رَبِّي ۚ
it is because of the Inspiration of my Lord to me.
إِنَّهُ سَمِيعٌ قَرِيبٌ
Truly, He is All-Hearer, Ever Near (to all things).

وَلَوْ تَرَىٰ إِذْ فَزِعُوا فَلَا فَوْتَ وَأُخِذُوا مِن مَّكَانٍ قَرِيبٍ ٥١

And if you could but see, when they will be terrified with no escape (for them), and they will be seized from a near place.

وَلَوْ تَرَىٰ إِذْ فَزِعُوا
And if you could but see, when they will be terrified
فَلَا فَوْتَ وَأُخِذُوا
with no escape (for them), and they will be seized
مِن مَّكَانٍ قَرِيبٍ
from a near place.

وَقَالُوا آمَنَّا بِهِ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ التَّنَاوُشُ مِن مَّكَانٍ بَعِيدٍ ٥٢

And they will say (in the Hereafter): "We do believe (now);" but how could they receive (Faith and the acceptance of their repentance by Allah) from a place so far off (i.e. to return to the worldly life again).

وَقَالُوا آمَنَّا بِهِ
And they will say (in the Hereafter): 'We do believe (now);'
وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُمُ التَّنَاوُشُ
but how could they receive (Faith
مِن مَّكَانٍ بَعِيدٍ
and the acceptance of their repentance by Allah) from a place so far off (i.e. to return to the worldly life again).

وَقَدْ كَفَرُوا بِهِ مِن قَبْلُ ۖ وَيَقْذِفُونَ بِالْغَيْبِ مِن مَّكَانٍ بَعِيدٍ ٥٣

Indeed they did disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah, Islam, the Quran and Muhammad SAW) before (in this world), and they (used to) conjecture about the unseen [i.e. the Hereafter, Hell, Paradise, Resurrection and the Promise of Allah, etc. (by saying) all that is untrue], from a far place.

وَقَدْ كَفَرُوا بِهِ مِن قَبْلُ ۖ
Indeed they did disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah, Islam, the Quran and Muhammad SAW) before (in this world)
وَيَقْذِفُونَ بِالْغَيْبِ
and they (used to) conjecture about the unseen
مِن مَّكَانٍ بَعِيدٍ
from a far place

وَحِيلَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ مَا يَشْتَهُونَ كَمَا فُعِلَ بِأَشْيَاعِهِم مِّن قَبْلُ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا فِي شَكٍّ مُّرِيبٍ ٥٤

And a barrier will be set between them and that which they desire [i.e. At-Taubah (turning to Allah in repentance) and the accepting of Faith etc.], as was done in the past with the people of their kind. Verily, they have been in grave doubt.

وَحِيلَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ مَا يَشْتَهُونَ
And a barrier will be set between them and that which they desire
كَمَا فُعِلَ بِأَشْيَاعِهِم مِّن قَبْلُ ۚ
as was done in the past with the people of their kind.
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا فِي شَكٍّ مُّرِيبٍ
Verily, they have been in grave doubt.
