كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَأَصْحَابُ الرَّسِّ وَثَمُودُ ١٢

Denied before them (i.e. these pagans of Makkah who denied you, O Muhammad SAW) the people of Nuh (Noah), and the dwellers of Rass, and the Thamud,

كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ

Denied before them

قَوْمُ نُوحٍ

the people of Nuh (Noah)

وَأَصْحَابُ الرَّسِّ

and the dwellers of Rass

وَثَمُودُ

and the Thamud

وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ وَإِخْوَانُ لُوطٍ ١٣

And 'Ad, and Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and the brethren of Lout (Lot),

وَعَادٌ

And 'Ad,

وَفِرْعَوْنُ

and Fir'aun (Pharaoh),

وَإِخْوَانُ لُوطٍ

and the brethren of Lout (Lot),

وَأَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ وَقَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ ۚ كُلٌّ كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِيدِ ١٤

And the dwellers of the Wood, and the people of Tubba'; everyone of them denied (their) Messengers, so My Threat took effect.

وَأَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ

And the dwellers of the Wood,

وَقَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ ۚ

and the people of Tubba';

كُلٌّ كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ

everyone of them denied (their) Messengers,

فَحَقَّ وَعِيدِ

so My Threat took effect.

أَفَعَيِينَا بِالْخَلْقِ الْأَوَّلِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِي لَبْسٍ مِّنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ ١٥

Were We then tired with the first creation? Nay, They are in confused doubt about a new creation (i.e. Resurrection)?

أَفَعَيِينَا بِالْخَلْقِ الْأَوَّلِ ۚ

Were We then tired with the first creation?

بَلْ هُمْ فِي لَبْسٍ

Nay, They are in confused doubt

مِّنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ

about a new creation (i.e. Resurrection)?
