وَجَاءَتْ سَكْرَةُ الْمَوْتِ بِالْحَقِّ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ مَا كُنتَ مِنْهُ تَحِيدُ ١٩

And the stupor of death will come in truth: "This is what you have been avoiding!"

وَجَاءَتْ سَكْرَةُ الْمَوْتِ

And the stupor of death will come

بِالْحَقِّ ۖ

in truth

ذَٰلِكَ مَا كُنتَ

This is what you have been

مِنْهُ تَحِيدُ

avoiding!

وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْوَعِيدِ ٢٠

And the Trumpet will be blown, that will be the Day whereof warning (had been given) (i.e. the Day of Resurrection).

وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ ۚ

And the Trumpet will be blown

ذَٰلِكَ يَوْمُ الْوَعِيدِ

that will be the Day whereof warning (had been given) (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)

وَجَاءَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّعَهَا سَائِقٌ وَشَهِيدٌ ٢١

And every person will come forth along with an (angel) to drive (him), and an (angel) to bear witness.

وَجَاءَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ

And every person will come forth

مَّعَهَا سَائِقٌ

along with an (angel) to drive (him)

وَشَهِيدٌ

and an (angel) to bear witness

لَّقَدْ كُنتَ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ هَٰذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنكَ غِطَاءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ الْيَوْمَ حَدِيدٌ ٢٢

(It will be said to the sinners): "Indeed you were heedless of this, now We have removed your covering, and sharp is your sight this Day!"

لَّقَدْ كُنتَ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ هَٰذَا

Indeed you were heedless of this

فَكَشَفْنَا عَنكَ غِطَاءَكَ

now We have removed your covering

فَبَصَرُكَ الْيَوْمَ حَدِيدٌ

and sharp is your sight this Day!

وَقَالَ قَرِينُهُ هَٰذَا مَا لَدَيَّ عَتِيدٌ ٢٣

And his companion (angel) will say: "Here is (this Record) ready with me!"

وَقَالَ قَرِينُهُ

And his companion (angel) will say:

هَٰذَا مَا لَدَيَّ

Here is (this Record) ready with me!

عَتِيدٌ

أَلْقِيَا فِي جَهَنَّمَ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ ٢٤

(And it will be said): "Both of you throw (Order from Allah to the two angels) into Hell, every stubborn disbeliever (in the Oneness of Allah, in His Messengers, etc.).

أَلْقِيَا فِي جَهَنَّمَ

Both of you throw (Order from Allah to the two angels) into Hell

كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ

every stubborn disbeliever (in the Oneness of Allah, in His Messengers, etc.)

مَّنَّاعٍ لِّلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ مُّرِيبٍ ٢٥

"Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter,

مَّنَّاعٍ لِّلْخَيْرِ

Hinderer of good

مُعْتَدٍ

transgressor

مُّرِيبٍ

doubter

الَّذِي جَعَلَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا آخَرَ فَأَلْقِيَاهُ فِي الْعَذَابِ الشَّدِيدِ ٢٦

"Who set up another ilah (god) with Allah, then (both of you) cast him in the severe torment."

الَّذِي جَعَلَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا آخَرَ

Who set up another ilah (god) with Allah

فَأَلْقِيَاهُ فِي الْعَذَابِ الشَّدِيدِ

then (both of you) cast him in the severe torment

۞ قَالَ قَرِينُهُ رَبَّنَا مَا أَطْغَيْتُهُ وَلَٰكِن كَانَ فِي ضَلَالٍ بَعِيدٍ ٢٧

His companion (Satan devil)] will say: "Our Lord! I did not push him to transgress, (in disbelief, oppression, and evil deeds) but he was himself in error far astray."

۞ قَالَ قَرِينُهُ

His companion (Satan devil) will say:

رَبَّنَا

Our Lord!

مَا أَطْغَيْتُهُ

I did not push him to transgress,

وَلَٰكِن

but

كَانَ فِي ضَلَالٍ بَعِيدٍ

he was himself in error far astray.

قَالَ لَا تَخْتَصِمُوا لَدَيَّ وَقَدْ قَدَّمْتُ إِلَيْكُم بِالْوَعِيدِ ٢٨

Allah will say: "Dispute not in front of Me, I had already, in advance, sent you the threat.

قَالَ

Allah will say:

لَا تَخْتَصِمُوا لَدَيَّ

Dispute not in front of Me,

وَقَدْ قَدَّمْتُ إِلَيْكُم

I had already, in advance, sent you

بِالْوَعِيدِ

the threat.

مَا يُبَدَّلُ الْقَوْلُ لَدَيَّ وَمَا أَنَا بِظَلَّامٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ ٢٩

The Sentence that comes from Me cannot be changed, and I am not unjust (to the least) to the slaves."

مَا يُبَدَّلُ الْقَوْلُ لَدَيَّ

The Sentence that comes from Me cannot be changed

وَمَا أَنَا بِظَلَّامٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ

and I am not unjust (to the least) to the slaves.

يَوْمَ نَقُولُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ امْتَلَأْتِ وَتَقُولُ هَلْ مِن مَّزِيدٍ ٣٠

On the Day when We will say to Hell: "Are you filled?" It will say: "Are there any more (to come)?"

يَوْمَ نَقُولُ لِجَهَنَّمَ

On the Day when We will say to Hell:

هَلِ امْتَلَأْتِ

"Are you filled?"

وَتَقُولُ

It will say:

هَلْ مِن مَّزِيدٍ

"Are there any more (to come)?"
