إِنَّمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا لَعِبٌ وَلَهْوٌ ۚ وَإِن تُؤْمِنُوا وَتَتَّقُوا يُؤْتِكُمْ أُجُورَكُمْ وَلَا يَسْأَلْكُمْ أَمْوَالَكُمْ ٣٦

The life of this world is but play and pastime, but if you believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), and fear Allah, and avoid evil, He will grant you your wages, and will not ask you your wealth.

إِنَّمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا
The life of this world is
لَعِبٌ وَلَهْوٌ ۚ
but play and pastime,
وَإِن تُؤْمِنُوا وَتَتَّقُوا
but if you believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism), and fear Allah,
يُؤْتِكُمْ أُجُورَكُمْ
He will grant you your wages,
وَلَا يَسْأَلْكُمْ أَمْوَالَكُمْ
and will not ask you your wealth.

إِن يَسْأَلْكُمُوهَا فَيُحْفِكُمْ تَبْخَلُوا وَيُخْرِجْ أَضْغَانَكُمْ ٣٧

If He were to ask you of it, and press you, you would covetously withhold, and He will bring out all your (secret) ill-wills.

إِن يَسْأَلْكُمُوهَا
If He were to ask you of it,
فَيُحْفِكُمْ
and press you,
تَبْخَلُوا
you would covetously withhold,
وَيُخْرِجْ أَضْغَانَكُمْ
and He will bring out all your (secret) ill-wills.
