فَأَتَتْ بِهِ قَوْمَهَا تَحْمِلُهُ ۖ قَالُوا يَا مَرْيَمُ لَقَدْ جِئْتِ شَيْئًا فَرِيًّا ٢٧
Then she brought him (the baby) to her people, carrying him. They said: "O Mary! Indeed you have brought a thing Fariya (an unheard mighty thing).
- فَأَتَتْ بِهِ قَوْمَهَا تَحْمِلُهُ ۖ
- Then she brought him (the baby) to her people, carrying him.
- قَالُوا يَا مَرْيَمُ لَقَدْ
- They said: 'O Mary!'
- جِئْتِ شَيْئًا فَرِيًّا
- Indeed you have brought a thing Fariya (an unheard mighty thing).
يَا أُخْتَ هَارُونَ مَا كَانَ أَبُوكِ امْرَأَ سَوْءٍ وَمَا كَانَتْ أُمُّكِ بَغِيًّا ٢٨
"O sister (i.e. the like) of Harun (Aaron) [not the brother of Musa (Moses), but he was another pious man at the time of Maryam (Mary)]! Your father was not a man who used to commit adultery, nor your mother was an unchaste woman."
- يَا أُخْتَ هَارُونَ مَا
- O sister (i.e. the like) of Harun (Aaron)
- كَانَ أَبُوكِ امْرَأَ سَوْءٍ وَمَا
- Your father was not a man who used to commit adultery
- كَانَتْ أُمُّكِ بَغِيًّا
- nor your mother was an unchaste woman
فَأَشَارَتْ إِلَيْهِ ۖ قَالُوا كَيْفَ نُكَلِّمُ مَن كَانَ فِي الْمَهْدِ صَبِيًّا ٢٩
Then she pointed to him. They said: "How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?"
- فَأَشَارَتْ إِلَيْهِ ۖ
- Then she pointed to him.
- قَالُوا
- They said:
- كَيْفَ نُكَلِّمُ
- How can we talk to
- مَن كَانَ فِي الْمَهْدِ صَبِيًّا
- one who is a child in the cradle?
قَالَ إِنِّي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ آتَانِيَ الْكِتَابَ وَجَعَلَنِي نَبِيًّا ٣٠
"He ['Iesa (Jesus)] said: Verily! I am a slave of Allah, He has given me the Scripture and made me a Prophet;"
- قَالَ
- He said:
- إِنِّي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ
- Verily! I am a slave of Allah,
- آتَانِيَ الْكِتَابَ
- He has given me the Scripture
- وَجَعَلَنِي نَبِيًّا
- and made me a Prophet;
وَجَعَلَنِي مُبَارَكًا أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُ وَأَوْصَانِي بِالصَّلَاةِ وَالزَّكَاةِ مَا دُمْتُ حَيًّا ٣١
"And He has made me blessed wheresoever I be, and has enjoined on me Salat (prayer), and Zakat, as long as I live."
- وَجَعَلَنِي مُبَارَكًا أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُ
- And He has made me blessed wheresoever I be,
- وَأَوْصَانِي بِالصَّلَاةِ وَالزَّكَاةِ
- and has enjoined on me Salat (prayer), and Zakat,
- مَا دُمْتُ حَيًّا
- as long as I live.
وَبَرًّا بِوَالِدَتِي وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْنِي جَبَّارًا شَقِيًّا ٣٢
"And dutiful to my mother, and made me not arrogant, unblest.
- وَبَرًّا بِوَالِدَتِي
- And dutiful to my mother
- وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْنِي جَبَّارًا شَقِيًّا
- and made me not arrogant, unblest
وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَيَّ يَوْمَ وُلِدتُّ وَيَوْمَ أَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ أُبْعَثُ حَيًّا ٣٣
"And Salam (peace) be upon me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive!"
- وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَيَّ
- And Salam (peace) be upon me
- يَوْمَ وُلِدتُّ
- the day I was born
- وَيَوْمَ أَمُوتُ
- and the day I die
- وَيَوْمَ أُبْعَثُ حَيًّا
- and the day I shall be raised alive!
