إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَنَعِيمٍ ١٧

Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in Gardens (Paradise), and Delight.

إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ
Verily, the Muttaqun (pious)
فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَنَعِيمٍ
will be in Gardens (Paradise), and Delight

فَاكِهِينَ بِمَا آتَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ الْجَحِيمِ ١٨

Enjoying in that which their Lord has bestowed on them, and (the fact that) their Lord saved them from the torment of the blazing Fire.

فَاكِهِينَ بِمَا آتَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ
Enjoying in that which their Lord has bestowed on them
وَوَقَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ الْجَحِيمِ
and (the fact that) their Lord saved them from the torment of the blazing Fire

كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ١٩

"Eat and drink with happiness because of what you used to do."

كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا
Eat and drink
هَنِيئًا
with happiness
بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
because of what you used to do.

مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّصْفُوفَةٍ ۖ وَزَوَّجْنَاهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ ٢٠

They will recline (with ease) on thrones arranged in ranks. And We shall marry them to Houris (female, fair ones) with wide lovely eyes.

مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍ مَّصْفُوفَةٍ ۖ
They will recline (with ease) on thrones arranged in ranks.
وَزَوَّجْنَاهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍ
And We shall marry them to Houris (female, fair ones) with wide lovely eyes.

وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَاتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم بِإِيمَانٍ أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَا أَلَتْنَاهُم مِّنْ عَمَلِهِم مِّن شَيْءٍ ۚ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٌ ٢١

And those who believe and whose offspring follow them in Faith, to them shall We join their offspring, and We shall not decrease the reward of their deeds in anything. Every person is a pledge for that which he has earned.

وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا
And those who believe
وَاتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم بِإِيمَانٍ
and whose offspring follow them in Faith
أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ
to them shall We join their offspring
وَمَا أَلَتْنَاهُم مِّنْ عَمَلِهِم مِّن شَيْءٍ ۚ
and We shall not decrease the reward of their deeds in anything
كُلُّ امْرِئٍ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٌ
Every person is a pledge for that which he has earned

وَأَمْدَدْنَاهُم بِفَاكِهَةٍ وَلَحْمٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ ٢٢

And We shall provide them with fruit and meat, such as they desire.

وَأَمْدَدْنَاهُم
And We shall provide them
بِفَاكِهَةٍ وَلَحْمٍ
with fruit and meat
مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
such as they desire

يَتَنَازَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا لَّا لَغْوٌ فِيهَا وَلَا تَأْثِيمٌ ٢٣

There they shall pass from hand to hand a (wine) cup, free from any Laghw (dirty, false, evil vague talk between them), and free from sin (because it will be legal for them to drink).

يَتَنَازَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا
There they shall pass from hand to hand a (wine) cup
لَّا لَغْوٌ فِيهَا
free from any Laghw (dirty, false, evil vague talk between them)
وَلَا تَأْثِيمٌ
and free from sin (because it will be legal for them to drink)

۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌ لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَّكْنُونٌ ٢٤

And there will go round boy-servants of theirs, to serve them as if they were preserved pearls.

۞ وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ
And there will go round
غِلْمَانٌ لَّهُمْ
boy-servants of theirs
كَأَنَّهُمْ
as if they were
لُؤْلُؤٌ مَّكْنُونٌ
preserved pearls

وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ ٢٥

And some of them draw near to others, questioning.

وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ
And some of them draw near to others
يَتَسَاءَلُونَ
questioning

قَالُوا إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِي أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ ٢٦

Saying: "Aforetime, we were afraid with our families (from the punishment of Allah).

قَالُوا

إِنَّا كُنَّا
Aforetime, we were
قَبْلُ
before
فِي أَهْلِنَا
in our families
مُشْفِقِينَ
afraid (from the punishment of Allah).

فَمَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَانَا عَذَابَ السَّمُومِ ٢٧

"But Allah has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of the Fire.

فَمَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا
But Allah has been gracious to us
وَوَقَانَا
and has saved us
عَذَابَ السَّمُومِ
from the torment of the Fire

إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ ۖ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْبَرُّ الرَّحِيمُ ٢٨

"Verily, We used to invoke Him (Alone and none else) before. Verily, He is Al-Barr (the Most Subtle, Kind, Courteous, and Generous), the Most Merciful."

إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ ۖ
Verily, We used to invoke Him (Alone and none else) before.
إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْبَرُّ الرَّحِيمُ
Verily, He is Al-Barr (the Most Subtle, Kind, Courteous, and Generous), the Most Merciful.
