يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّ مِنْ أَزْوَاجِكُمْ وَأَوْلَادِكُمْ عَدُوًّا لَّكُمْ فَاحْذَرُوهُمْ ۚ وَإِن تَعْفُوا وَتَصْفَحُوا وَتَغْفِرُوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ ١٤
O you who believe! Verily, among your wives and your children there are enemies for you (i.e. may stop you from the obedience of Allah), therefore beware of them! But if you pardon (them) and overlook, and forgive (their faults), then verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
- يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّ
- O you who believe!
- مِنْ أَزْوَاجِكُمْ وَأَوْلَادِكُمْ عَدُوًّا
- Verily, among your wives and your children
- لَّكُمْ فَاحْذَرُوهُمْ ۚ
- there are enemies for you
- وَإِن تَعْفُوا وَتَصْفَحُوا وَتَغْفِرُوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
- (i.e. may stop you from the obedience of Allah),
- therefore beware of them!

- then verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
إِنَّمَا أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَأَوْلَادُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ ۚ وَاللَّهُ عِندَهُ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ ١٥
Your wealth and your children are only a trial, whereas Allah! With Him is a great reward (Paradise).
- إِنَّمَا أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَأَوْلَادُكُمْ
- Your wealth and your children are only
- فِتْنَةٌ ۚ
- a trial,
- وَاللَّهُ عِندَهُ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ
- whereas Allah! With Him is a great reward (Paradise).
فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ وَاسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا وَأَنفِقُوا خَيْرًا لِّأَنفُسِكُمْ ۗ وَمَن يُوقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهِ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ ١٦
So keep your duty to Allah and fear Him as much as you can; listen and obey; and spend in charity, that is better for yourselves. And whosoever is saved from his own covetousness, then they are the successful ones.
- فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ
- So keep your duty to Allah and fear Him as much as you can;
- وَاسْمَعُوا وَأَطِيعُوا
- listen and obey;
- وَأَنفِقُوا خَيْرًا لِّأَنفُسِكُمْ ۗ
- and spend in charity, that is better for yourselves.
- وَمَن يُوقَ شُحَّ نَفْسِهِ
- And whosoever is saved from his own covetousness,
- فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ
- then they are the successful ones.
إِن تُقْرِضُوا اللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا يُضَاعِفْهُ لَكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ۚ وَاللَّهُ شَكُورٌ حَلِيمٌ ١٧
If you lend to Allah a goodly loan (i.e. spend in Allah's Cause) He will double it for you, and will forgive you. And Allah is Most Ready to appreciate and to reward, Most Forbearing,
- إِن تُقْرِضُوا اللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا
- If you lend to Allah a goodly loan (i.e. spend in Allah's Cause)
- يُضَاعِفْهُ لَكُمْ
- He will double it for you,
- وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ۚ
- and will forgive you.
- وَاللَّهُ شَكُورٌ حَلِيمٌ
- And Allah is Most Ready to appreciate and to reward, Most Forbearing,
عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ ١٨
All-Knower of the unseen and seen, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.
