وَإِنَّهُ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ١٩٢

And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists),

وَإِنَّهُ

And truly, this

لَتَنزِيلُ

is a revelation

رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)

نَزَلَ بِهِ الرُّوحُ الْأَمِينُ ١٩٣

Which the trustworthy Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] has brought down;

نَزَلَ بِهِ

has brought down

الرُّوحُ الْأَمِينُ

the trustworthy Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)]

عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُنذِرِينَ ١٩٤

Upon your heart (O Muhammad SAW) that you may be (one) of the warners,

عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ

Upon your heart (O Muhammad SAW)

لِتَكُونَ

that you may be

مِنَ الْمُنذِرِينَ

(one) of the warners

بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِيٍّ مُّبِينٍ ١٩٥

In the plain Arabic language.

بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِيٍّ مُّبِينٍ

In the plain Arabic language

وَإِنَّهُ لَفِي زُبُرِ الْأَوَّلِينَ ١٩٦

And verily, it (the Quran, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people.

وَإِنَّهُ

And verily, it

لَفِي زُبُرِ الْأَوَّلِينَ

is (announced) in the Scriptures of former people

the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people

أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ آيَةً أَن يَعْلَمَهُ عُلَمَاءُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ١٩٧

Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like 'Abdullah bin Salam who embraced Islam) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)?

أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ آيَةً

Is it not a sign to them

أَن يَعْلَمَهُ عُلَمَاءُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ

that the learned scholars of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)?

وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَاهُ عَلَىٰ بَعْضِ الْأَعْجَمِينَ ١٩٨

And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs,

وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَاهُ

And if We had revealed it

عَلَىٰ بَعْضِ الْأَعْجَمِينَ

unto any of the non-Arabs

فَقَرَأَهُ عَلَيْهِم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِ مُؤْمِنِينَ ١٩٩

And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it.

فَقَرَأَهُ عَلَيْهِم

And he had recited it unto them

مَّا كَانُوا بِهِ مُؤْمِنِينَ

they would not have believed in it

كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكْنَاهُ فِي قُلُوبِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ ٢٠٠

Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.).

كَذَٰلِكَ

Thus

سَلَكْنَاهُ

have We caused it

فِي قُلُوبِ

to enter the hearts of

الْمُجْرِمِينَ

the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.)

لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا الْعَذَابَ الْأَلِيمَ ٢٠١

They will not believe in it until they see the painful torment;

لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ

They will not believe in it

حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا

until they see

الْعَذَابَ الْأَلِيمَ

the painful torment

فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ ٢٠٢

It shall come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not;

فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةً

It shall come to them of a sudden

وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

while they perceive it not

فَيَقُولُوا هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ ٢٠٣

Then they will say: "Can we be respited?"

فَيَقُولُوا

Then they will say

هَلْ نَحْنُ

Can we

مُنظَرُونَ

be respited?

أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ ٢٠٤

Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on?

أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا

Would they then wish for Our Torment

يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ

to be hastened on?

أَفَرَأَيْتَ إِن مَّتَّعْنَاهُمْ سِنِينَ ٢٠٥

Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years,

أَفَرَأَيْتَ

Tell Me,

إِن مَّتَّعْنَاهُمْ

if We do let them enjoy

سِنِينَ

for years,

ثُمَّ جَاءَهُم مَّا كَانُوا يُوعَدُونَ ٢٠٦

And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised!

ثُمَّ جَاءَهُم

And afterwards comes to them

مَّا كَانُوا يُوعَدُونَ

that (punishment) which they had been promised!

مَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يُمَتَّعُونَ ٢٠٧

All that with which they used to enjoy shall not avail them.

مَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم

shall not avail them

مَّا كَانُوا يُمَتَّعُونَ

All that with which they used to enjoy

وَمَا أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ ٢٠٨

And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners

وَمَا أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ

And never did We destroy a township

إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ

but it had its warners

ذِكْرَىٰ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ ٢٠٩

By way of reminder, and We have never been unjust.

ذِكْرَىٰ

By way of reminder

وَمَا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ

and We have never been unjust

وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ الشَّيَاطِينُ ٢١٠

And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down,

وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ الشَّيَاطِينُ

And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down

وَمَا يَنبَغِي لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ ٢١١

Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it).

وَمَا يَنبَغِي لَهُمْ

Neither would it suit them

وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ

nor they can (produce it)

إِنَّهُمْ عَنِ السَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُونَ ٢١٢

Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it.

إِنَّهُمْ

Verily, they

عَنِ السَّمْعِ

have been removed from hearing

لَمَعْزُولُونَ

it far
