كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ الْمُرْسَلِينَ ١٦٠

The people of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers.

كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ

The people of Lout (Lot)

الْمُرْسَلِينَ

belied the Messengers

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ١٦١

When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him?

إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ

When he said to them

أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ

their brother Lout (Lot)

أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

Will you not fear Allah and obey Him?

إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ ١٦٢

"Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you.

إِنِّي

Verily!

لَكُمْ

to you

رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ

I am a trustworthy Messenger

فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ ١٦٣

"So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me.

فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ

So fear Allah

وَأَطِيعُونِ

keep your duty to Him

وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ١٦٤

"No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).

وَمَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ

No reward do I ask of you for it

إِنْ أَجْرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)

أَتَأْتُونَ الذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ ١٦٥

"Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind),

أَتَأْتُونَ

Go you in unto

الذُّكْرَانَ

the males

مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ

of the 'Alamin (mankind)

وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَاجِكُم ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ ١٦٦

"And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!"

وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم

And leave those whom Allah has created for you

مِّنْ أَزْوَاجِكُم ۚ

to be your wives?

بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ

Nay, you are a trespassing people!

قَالُوا لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَا لُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْمُخْرَجِينَ ١٦٧

They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!"

قَالُوا لَئِن لَّمْ

If you cease not

تَنتَهِ يَا لُوطُ

O Lout (Lot)

لَتَكُونَنَّ

Verily, you will be

مِنَ الْمُخْرَجِينَ

one of those who are driven out

قَالَ إِنِّي لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ الْقَالِينَ ١٦٨

He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy).

قَالَ

He said:

إِنِّي

I am, indeed,

لِعَمَلِكُم

of your (this) action

مِّنَ الْقَالِينَ

of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury

رَبِّ نَجِّنِي وَأَهْلِي مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ ١٦٩

"My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do."

رَبِّ

My Lord!

نَجِّنِي

Save me

وَأَهْلِي

and my family

مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ

from what they do.

فَنَجَّيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ أَجْمَعِينَ ١٧٠

So We saved him and his family, all,

فَنَجَّيْنَاهُ

So We saved him

وَأَهْلَهُ

and his family

أَجْمَعِينَ

all

إِلَّا عَجُوزًا فِي الْغَابِرِينَ ١٧١

Except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind.

إِلَّا عَجُوزًا

Except an old woman

فِي الْغَابِرِينَ

(his wife) among those who remained behind

ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا الْآخَرِينَ ١٧٢

Then afterward We destroyed the others.

ثُمَّ

Then

دَمَّرْنَا

We destroyed

الْآخَرِينَ

the others

وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا ۖ فَسَاءَ مَطَرُ الْمُنذَرِينَ ١٧٣

And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned.

وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا ۖ

And We rained on them a rain

فَسَاءَ مَطَرُ الْمُنذَرِينَ

And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned

إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ١٧٤

Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers.

إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ

Verily, in this

لَآيَةً ۖ

is indeed a sign,

وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم

yet most of them

مُّؤْمِنِينَ

are not believers.

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الرَّحِيمُ ١٧٥

And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful.

وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ

And verily! Your Lord,

لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ

He is indeed the All-Mighty,

الرَّحِيمُ

the Most Merciful.
