أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ نُّزُلًا أَمْ شَجَرَةُ الزَّقُّومِ ٦٢
Is that (Paradise) better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum (a horrible tree in Hell)?
- أَذَٰلِكَ
- Is that
- خَيْرٌ نُّزُلًا
- better entertainment
- أَمْ
- or
- شَجَرَةُ الزَّقُّومِ
- the tree of Zaqqum (a horrible tree in Hell)
إِنَّا جَعَلْنَاهَا فِتْنَةً لِّلظَّالِمِينَ ٦٣
Truly We have made it (as) a trail for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrong-doers, etc.).
- إِنَّا

- جَعَلْنَاهَا

- فِتْنَةً
- (as) a trial
- لِّلظَّالِمِينَ
- for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrong-doers, etc.)
إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٌ تَخْرُجُ فِي أَصْلِ الْجَحِيمِ ٦٤
Verily, it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-fire,
- إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٌ
- Verily, it is a tree
- تَخْرُجُ فِي أَصْلِ الْجَحِيمِ
- that springs out of the bottom of Hell-fire
طَلْعُهَا كَأَنَّهُ رُءُوسُ الشَّيَاطِينِ ٦٥
The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils);
- طَلْعُهَا

- كَأَنَّهُ

- رُءُوسُ الشَّيَاطِينِ
- the heads of Shayatin (devils)
فَإِنَّهُمْ لَآكِلُونَ مِنْهَا فَمَالِئُونَ مِنْهَا الْبُطُونَ ٦٦
Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith.
- فَإِنَّهُمْ
- Truly, they
- لَآكِلُونَ مِنْهَا
- will eat thereof
- فَمَالِئُونَ مِنْهَا الْبُطُونَ
- and fill their bellies therewith
ثُمَّ إِنَّ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا لَشَوْبًا مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ ٦٧
Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqum in their bellies).
- ثُمَّ إِنَّ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا
- Then on the top of that they will be given
- لَشَوْبًا مِّنْ حَمِيمٍ
- boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqum in their bellies)
ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرْجِعَهُمْ لَإِلَى الْجَحِيمِ ٦٨
Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell.

إِنَّهُمْ أَلْفَوْا آبَاءَهُمْ ضَالِّينَ ٦٩
Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path;

فَهُمْ عَلَىٰ آثَارِهِمْ يُهْرَعُونَ ٧٠
So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps!

- in their footsteps!
وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ ٧١
And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them;
- وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ
- And indeed went astray before them
- أَكْثَرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ
- most of the men of old
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِم مُّنذِرِينَ ٧٢
And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers);
- وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا
- And indeed We sent
- فِيهِم

- مُّنذِرِينَ
- warners (Messengers)
فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُنذَرِينَ ٧٣
Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not).

- عَاقِبَةُ الْمُنذَرِينَ
- the end of those who were warned (but heeded not)
إِلَّا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ الْمُخْلَصِينَ ٧٤
Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism).
