هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰ ١٥
Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)?
- هَلْ أَتَاكَ
- Has there come to you
- حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰ
- the story of Musa (Moses)?
إِذْ نَادَاهُ رَبُّهُ بِالْوَادِ الْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى ١٦
When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa,
- إِذْ نَادَاهُ
- When He called him
- رَبُّهُ
- his Lord
- بِالْوَادِ الْمُقَدَّسِ
- in the sacred valley
- طُوًى
- of Tuwa
اذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُ طَغَىٰ ١٧
Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.).
- اذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ
- Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh)
- إِنَّهُ طَغَىٰ
- verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.)
فَقُلْ هَل لَّكَ إِلَىٰ أَن تَزَكَّىٰ ١٨
And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)",
- فَقُلْ
- And say
- هَل لَّكَ
- to him: 'Would you
- إِلَىٰ أَن تَزَكَّىٰ
- purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)'
وَأَهْدِيَكَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَتَخْشَىٰ ١٩
And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him?
- وَأَهْدِيَكَ
- And that I guide you
- إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ
- to your Lord,
- فَتَخْشَىٰ
- so you should fear Him?
فَأَرَاهُ الْآيَةَ الْكُبْرَىٰ ٢٠
Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles).
- فَأَرَاهُ
- Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him
- الْآيَةَ الْكُبْرَىٰ
- the great sign (miracles)
فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصَىٰ ٢١
But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed;
- فَكَذَّبَ
- But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied
- وَعَصَىٰ
- and disobeyed
ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ يَسْعَىٰ ٢٢
Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah).
- ثُمَّ أَدْبَرَ
- Then he turned his back
- يَسْعَىٰ
- striving hard (against Allah)
فَحَشَرَ فَنَادَىٰ ٢٣
Then he gathered his people and cried aloud,
- فَحَشَرَ
- Then he gathered
- فَنَادَىٰ
- his people and cried aloud
فَقَالَ أَنَا رَبُّكُمُ الْأَعْلَىٰ ٢٤
Saying: "I am your lord, most high",
- فَقَالَ
- Saying:
- أَنَا رَبُّكُمُ
- I am your lord,
- الْأَعْلَىٰ
- most high
فَأَخَذَهُ اللَّهُ نَكَالَ الْآخِرَةِ وَالْأُولَىٰ ٢٥
So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression.
- فَأَخَذَهُ اللَّهُ
- So Allah seized him
- نَكَالَ الْآخِرَةِ وَالْأُولَىٰ
- with punishment for his last and first transgression
- for his last [i.e. his saying: 'I am your lord, most high']
- and first [i.e. his saying, 'O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I']
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِّمَن يَخْشَىٰ ٢٦
Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah.
- إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ
- Verily, in this
- لَعِبْرَةً
- is an instructive admonition
- لِّمَن يَخْشَىٰ
- for whosoever fears Allah
