أَفَأَمِنَ الَّذِينَ مَكَرُوا السَّيِّئَاتِ أَن يَخْسِفَ اللَّهُ بِهِمُ الْأَرْضَ أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ ٤٥

Do then those who devise evil plots feel secure that Allah will not sink them into the earth, or that the torment will not seize them from directions they perceive not?

أَفَأَمِنَ الَّذِينَ مَكَرُوا السَّيِّئَاتِ

Do then those who devise evil plots feel secure

أَن يَخْسِفَ اللَّهُ بِهِمُ الْأَرْضَ

that Allah will not sink them into the earth

أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمُ الْعَذَابُ

or that the torment will not seize them

مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

from directions they perceive not?

أَوْ يَأْخُذَهُمْ فِي تَقَلُّبِهِمْ فَمَا هُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ ٤٦

Or that He may catch them in the midst of their going to and fro (in their jobs), so that there be no escape for them (from Allah's Punishment)?

أَوْ يَأْخُذَهُمْ

Or that He may catch them

فِي تَقَلُّبِهِمْ

in the midst of their going to and fro

فَمَا هُم بِمُعْجِزِينَ

so that there be no escape for them (from Allah's Punishment)

أَوْ يَأْخُذَهُمْ عَلَىٰ تَخَوُّفٍ فَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ لَرَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ ٤٧

Or that He may catch them with gradual wasting (of their wealth and health). Truly! Your Lord is indeed full of Kindness, Most Merciful?

أَوْ يَأْخُذَهُمْ عَلَىٰ تَخَوُّفٍ

Or that He may catch them with gradual wasting

فَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمْ

Truly! Your Lord

لَرَءُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ

is indeed full of Kindness, Most Merciful

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا إِلَىٰ مَا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ مِن شَيْءٍ يَتَفَيَّأُ ظِلَالُهُ عَنِ الْيَمِينِ وَالشَّمَائِلِ سُجَّدًا لِّلَّهِ وَهُمْ دَاخِرُونَ ٤٨

Have they not observed things that Allah has created, (how) their shadows incline to the right and to the left, making prostration unto Allah, and they are lowly?

أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا

Have they not observed

إِلَىٰ مَا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ مِن شَيْءٍ

things that Allah has created

يَتَفَيَّأُ ظِلَالُهُ

(how) their shadows incline

عَنِ الْيَمِينِ وَالشَّمَائِلِ

to the right and to the left

سُجَّدًا لِّلَّهِ

making prostration unto Allah

وَهُمْ دَاخِرُونَ

and they are lowly

وَلِلَّهِ يَسْجُدُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ مِن دَابَّةٍ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ وَهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ ٤٩

And to Allah prostrate all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, of the live moving creatures and the angels, and they are not proud [i.e. they worship their Lord (Allah) with humility].

وَلِلَّهِ يَسْجُدُ

And to Allah prostate

مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ

all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth

مِن دَابَّةٍ

of the live moving creatures

وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ

and the angels

وَهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ

and they are not proud [i.e. they worship their Lord (Allah) with humility]

يَخَافُونَ رَبَّهُم مِّن فَوْقِهِمْ وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ ۩ ٥٠

They fear their Lord above them, and they do what they are commanded.

يَخَافُونَ رَبَّهُم

They fear their Lord

مِّن فَوْقِهِمْ

above them

وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ ۩

and they do what they are commanded
