وَاللَّهُ أَنزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَأَحْيَا بِهِ الْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَسْمَعُونَ ٦٥

And Allah sends down water (rain) from the sky, then He revives the earth therewith after its death. Verily, in this is a sign (clear proof) for people who listen (obey Allah).

وَاللَّهُ أَنزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً

And Allah sends down water (rain) from the sky,

فَأَحْيَا بِهِ الْأَرْضَ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهَا ۚ

then He revives the earth therewith after its death.

إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً

Verily, in this is a sign (clear proof)

لِّقَوْمٍ يَسْمَعُونَ

for people who listen (obey Allah).

وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِي الْأَنْعَامِ لَعِبْرَةً ۖ نُّسْقِيكُم مِّمَّا فِي بُطُونِهِ مِن بَيْنِ فَرْثٍ وَدَمٍ لَّبَنًا خَالِصًا سَائِغًا لِّلشَّارِبِينَ ٦٦

And verily! In the cattle, there is a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, from between excretions and blood, pure milk; palatable to the drinkers.

وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِي الْأَنْعَامِ لَعِبْرَةً ۖ

And verily! In the cattle, there is a lesson for you.

نُّسْقِيكُم مِّمَّا فِي بُطُونِهِ

We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies,

مِن بَيْنِ فَرْثٍ وَدَمٍ

from between excretions and blood,

لَّبَنًا خَالِصًا سَائِغًا لِّلشَّارِبِينَ

pure milk; palatable to the drinkers.

وَمِن ثَمَرَاتِ النَّخِيلِ وَالْأَعْنَابِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِنْهُ سَكَرًا وَرِزْقًا حَسَنًا ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ ٦٧

And from the fruits of date-palms and grapes, you derive strong drink (this was before the order of the prohibition of the alcoholic drinks) and a goodly provision. Verily, therein is indeed a sign for people who have wisdom.

وَمِن ثَمَرَاتِ النَّخِيلِ وَالْأَعْنَابِ

And from the fruits of date-palms and grapes,

تَتَّخِذُونَ مِنْهُ سَكَرًا وَرِزْقًا حَسَنًا ۗ

you derive strong drink (this was before the order of the prohibition of the alcoholic drinks) and a goodly provision.

إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ

Verily, therein is indeed a sign for people who have wisdom.

وَأَوْحَىٰ رَبُّكَ إِلَى النَّحْلِ أَنِ اتَّخِذِي مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا وَمِنَ الشَّجَرِ وَمِمَّا يَعْرِشُونَ ٦٨

And your Lord inspired the bee, saying: "Take you habitations in the mountains and in the trees and in what they erect.

وَأَوْحَىٰ رَبُّكَ إِلَى النَّحْلِ

And your Lord inspired the bee

أَنِ اتَّخِذِي مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًا

saying: 'Take you habitations in the mountains

وَمِنَ الشَّجَرِ

and in the trees

وَمِمَّا يَعْرِشُونَ

and in what they erect.'

ثُمَّ كُلِي مِن كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ فَاسْلُكِي سُبُلَ رَبِّكِ ذُلُلًا ۚ يَخْرُجُ مِن بُطُونِهَا شَرَابٌ مُّخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَانُهُ فِيهِ شِفَاءٌ لِّلنَّاسِ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ ٦٩

"Then, eat of all fruits, and follow the ways of your Lord made easy (for you)." There comes forth from their bellies, a drink of varying colour wherein is healing for men. Verily, in this is indeed a sign for people who think.

ثُمَّ كُلِي مِن كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ

Then, eat of all fruits,

فَاسْلُكِي سُبُلَ رَبِّكِ ذُلُلًا ۚ

and follow the ways of your Lord made easy (for you).

يَخْرُجُ مِن بُطُونِهَا

There comes forth from their bellies,

شَرَابٌ مُّخْتَلِفٌ أَلْوَانُهُ

a drink of varying colour

فِيهِ شِفَاءٌ لِّلنَّاسِ ۗ

wherein is healing for men.

إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

Verily, in this is indeed a sign for people who think.

وَاللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَفَّاكُمْ ۚ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرَدُّ إِلَىٰ أَرْذَلِ الْعُمُرِ لِكَيْ لَا يَعْلَمَ بَعْدَ عِلْمٍ شَيْئًا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ قَدِيرٌ ٧٠

And Allah has created you and then He will cause you to die, and of you there are some who are sent back to senility, so that they know nothing after having known (much). Truly! Allah is All-Knowing, All-Powerful.

وَاللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ

And Allah has created you

ثُمَّ يَتَوَفَّاكُمْ ۚ

and then He will cause you to die

وَمِنكُم مَّن يُرَدُّ إِلَىٰ أَرْذَلِ الْعُمُرِ

and of you there are some who are sent back to senility

لِكَيْ لَا يَعْلَمَ بَعْدَ عِلْمٍ شَيْئًا ۚ

so that they know nothing after having known (much)

إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ قَدِيرٌ

Truly! Allah is All-Knowing, All-Powerful

وَاللَّهُ فَضَّلَ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ فِي الرِّزْقِ ۚ فَمَا الَّذِينَ فُضِّلُوا بِرَادِّي رِزْقِهِمْ عَلَىٰ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُمْ فَهُمْ فِيهِ سَوَاءٌ ۚ أَفَبِنِعْمَةِ اللَّهِ يَجْحَدُونَ ٧١

And Allah has preferred some of you above others in wealth and properties. Then, those who are preferred will by no means hand over their wealth and properties to those (slaves) whom their right hands possess, so that they may be equal with them in respect thereof. Do they then deny the Favour of Allah?

وَاللَّهُ فَضَّلَ بَعْضَكُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ فِي الرِّزْقِ ۚ

And Allah has preferred some of you above others in wealth and properties.

فَمَا الَّذِينَ فُضِّلُوا بِرَادِّي رِزْقِهِمْ

Then, those who are preferred will by no means hand over their wealth and properties

عَلَىٰ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُمْ

to those (slaves) whom their right hands possess,

فَهُمْ فِيهِ سَوَاءٌ ۚ

so that they may be equal with them in respect thereof.

أَفَبِنِعْمَةِ اللَّهِ يَجْحَدُونَ

Do they then deny the Favour of Allah?

وَاللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَاجِكُم بَنِينَ وَحَفَدَةً وَرَزَقَكُم مِّنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ ۚ أَفَبِالْبَاطِلِ يُؤْمِنُونَ وَبِنِعْمَتِ اللَّهِ هُمْ يَكْفُرُونَ ٧٢

And Allah has made for you wives of your own kind, and has made for you, from your wives, sons and grandsons, and has bestowed on you good provision. Do they then believe in false deities and deny the Favour of Allah (by not worshipping Allah Alone).

وَاللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم

And Allah has made for you

مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا

wives of your own kind

وَجَعَلَ لَكُم

and has made for you

مِّنْ أَزْوَاجِكُم بَنِينَ وَحَفَدَةً

from your wives, sons and grandsons

وَرَزَقَكُم مِّنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ ۚ

and has bestowed on you good provision

أَفَبِالْبَاطِلِ يُؤْمِنُونَ

Do they then believe in false deities

وَبِنِعْمَتِ اللَّهِ هُمْ يَكْفُرُونَ

and deny the Favour of Allah (by not worshipping Allah Alone)

وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يَمْلِكُ لَهُمْ رِزْقًا مِّنَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ ٧٣

And they worship others besides Allah, such as do not and cannot own any provision for them from the heavens or the earth.

وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ

And they worship others besides Allah,

مَا لَا يَمْلِكُ لَهُمْ رِزْقًا

such as do not own any provision for them

مِّنَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ

from the heavens or the earth

شَيْئًا وَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ

and cannot (own) anything.

فَلَا تَضْرِبُوا لِلَّهِ الْأَمْثَالَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ٧٤

So put not forward similitudes for Allah (as there is nothing similar to Him, nor He resembles anything). Truly! Allah knows and you know not.

فَلَا تَضْرِبُوا لِلَّهِ الْأَمْثَالَ ۚ

So put not forward similitudes for Allah

إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ

Truly! Allah knows

وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

and you know not

۞ ضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلًا عَبْدًا مَّمْلُوكًا لَّا يَقْدِرُ عَلَىٰ شَيْءٍ وَمَن رَّزَقْنَاهُ مِنَّا رِزْقًا حَسَنًا فَهُوَ يُنفِقُ مِنْهُ سِرًّا وَجَهْرًا ۖ هَلْ يَسْتَوُونَ ۚ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ٧٥

Allah puts forward the example (of two men a believer and a disbeliever); a slave (disbeliever) under the possession of another, he has no power of any sort, and (the other), a man (believer) on whom We have bestowed a good provision from Us, and He spends thereof secretly and openly. Can they be equal? (By no means, not). All the praises and thanks be to Allah. Nay! (But) most of them know not.

۞ ضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلًا

Allah puts forward the example

عَبْدًا مَّمْلُوكًا

(of two men a believer and a disbeliever); a slave (disbeliever)

لَّا يَقْدِرُ عَلَىٰ شَيْءٍ

under the possession of another, he has no power of any sort

وَمَن رَّزَقْنَاهُ مِنَّا رِزْقًا حَسَنًا

and (the other), a man (believer) on whom We have bestowed a good provision from Us

فَهُوَ يُنفِقُ مِنْهُ سِرًّا وَجَهْرًا ۖ

and He spends thereof secretly and openly

هَلْ يَسْتَوُونَ ۚ

Can they be equal?

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ۚ

(By no means, not). All the praises and thanks be to Allah

بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

Nay! (But) most of them know not

وَضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلًا رَّجُلَيْنِ أَحَدُهُمَا أَبْكَمُ لَا يَقْدِرُ عَلَىٰ شَيْءٍ وَهُوَ كَلٌّ عَلَىٰ مَوْلَاهُ أَيْنَمَا يُوَجِّههُّ لَا يَأْتِ بِخَيْرٍ ۖ هَلْ يَسْتَوِي هُوَ وَمَن يَأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ ۙ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ ٧٦

And Allah puts forward (another) example of two men, one of them dumb, who has no power over anything (disbeliever), and he is a burden to his master, whichever way he directs him, he brings no good. Is such a man equal to one (believer in the Islamic Monotheism) who commands justice, and is himself on a Straight Path?

وَضَرَبَ اللَّهُ مَثَلًا رَّجُلَيْنِ

And Allah puts forward (another) example of two men,

أَحَدُهُمَا أَبْكَمُ

one of them dumb,

لَا يَقْدِرُ عَلَىٰ شَيْءٍ

who has no power over anything (disbeliever),

وَهُوَ كَلٌّ عَلَىٰ مَوْلَاهُ

and he is a burden to his master,

أَيْنَمَا يُوَجِّههُّ لَا يَأْتِ بِخَيْرٍ ۖ

whichever way he directs him, he brings no good.

هَلْ يَسْتَوِي هُوَ

Is such a man equal to one

وَمَن يَأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ ۙ

(believer in the Islamic Monotheism) who commands justice,

وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

and is himself on a Straight Path?

وَلِلَّهِ غَيْبُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ وَمَا أَمْرُ السَّاعَةِ إِلَّا كَلَمْحِ الْبَصَرِ أَوْ هُوَ أَقْرَبُ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ٧٧

And to Allah belongs the unseen of the heavens and the earth. And the matter of the Hour is not but as a twinkling of the eye, or even nearer. Truly! Allah is Able to do all things.

وَلِلَّهِ غَيْبُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ

And to Allah belongs the unseen of the heavens and the earth.

وَمَا أَمْرُ السَّاعَةِ إِلَّا كَلَمْحِ الْبَصَرِ

And the matter of the Hour is not but as a twinkling of the eye,

أَوْ هُوَ أَقْرَبُ ۚ

or even nearer.

إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Truly! Allah is Able to do all things.

وَاللَّهُ أَخْرَجَكُم مِّن بُطُونِ أُمَّهَاتِكُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ شَيْئًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَالْأَبْصَارَ وَالْأَفْئِدَةَ ۙ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ ٧٨

And Allah has brought you out from the wombs of your mothers while you know nothing. And He gave you hearing, sight, and hearts that you might give thanks (to Allah).

وَاللَّهُ أَخْرَجَكُم مِّن بُطُونِ أُمَّهَاتِكُمْ

And Allah has brought you out from the wombs of your mothers

لَا تَعْلَمُونَ شَيْئًا

while you know nothing.

وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَالْأَبْصَارَ وَالْأَفْئِدَةَ ۙ

And He gave you hearing, sight, and hearts

لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ

that you might give thanks (to Allah).

أَلَمْ يَرَوْا إِلَى الطَّيْرِ مُسَخَّرَاتٍ فِي جَوِّ السَّمَاءِ مَا يُمْسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ ٧٩

Do they not see the birds held (flying) in the midst of the sky? None holds them but Allah [none gave them the ability to fly but Allah]. Verily, in this are clear proofs and signs for people who believe (in the Oneness of Allah).

أَلَمْ يَرَوْا

Do they not see

إِلَى الطَّيْرِ

the birds

مُسَخَّرَاتٍ فِي جَوِّ السَّمَاءِ

held (flying) in the midst of the sky?

مَا يُمْسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ۗ

None holds them but Allah

إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ

Verily, in this

لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ

are clear proofs and signs for people who believe (in the Oneness of Allah).

وَاللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّن بُيُوتِكُمْ سَكَنًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّن جُلُودِ الْأَنْعَامِ بُيُوتًا تَسْتَخِفُّونَهَا يَوْمَ ظَعْنِكُمْ وَيَوْمَ إِقَامَتِكُمْ ۙ وَمِنْ أَصْوَافِهَا وَأَوْبَارِهَا وَأَشْعَارِهَا أَثَاثًا وَمَتَاعًا إِلَىٰ حِينٍ ٨٠

And Allah has made for you in your homes an abode, and made for you out of the hides of the cattle (tents for) dwelling, which you find so light (and handy) when you travel and when you stay (in your travels), and of their wool, fur, and hair (sheep wool, camel fur, and goat hair), a furnishing and articles of convenience (e.g. carpets, blankets, etc.), a comfort for a while.

وَاللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم

And Allah has made for you

مِّن بُيُوتِكُمْ سَكَنًا

in your homes an abode

وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّن جُلُودِ الْأَنْعَامِ

and made for you out of the hides of the cattle

بُيُوتًا تَسْتَخِفُّونَهَا

(tents for) dwelling, which you find so light (and handy)

يَوْمَ ظَعْنِكُمْ وَيَوْمَ إِقَامَتِكُمْ ۙ

when you travel and when you stay (in your travels)

وَمِنْ أَصْوَافِهَا وَأَوْبَارِهَا وَأَشْعَارِهَا

and of their wool, fur, and hair

أَثَاثًا وَمَتَاعًا إِلَىٰ حِينٍ

a furnishing and articles of convenience (e.g. carpets, blankets, etc.), a comfort for a while

وَاللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّمَّا خَلَقَ ظِلَالًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ الْجِبَالِ أَكْنَانًا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمْ سَرَابِيلَ تَقِيكُمُ الْحَرَّ وَسَرَابِيلَ تَقِيكُم بَأْسَكُمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُتِمُّ نِعْمَتَهُ عَلَيْكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْلِمُونَ ٨١

And Allah has made for you out of that which He has created shades, and has made for you places of refuge in the mountains, and has made for you garments to protect you from the heat (and cold), and coats of mail to protect you from your (mutual) violence. Thus does He perfect His Grace unto you, that you may submit yourselves to His Will (in Islam).

وَاللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّمَّا خَلَقَ ظِلَالًا

And Allah has made for you out of that which He has created shades,

وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ الْجِبَالِ أَكْنَانًا

and has made for you places of refuge in the mountains,

وَجَعَلَ لَكُمْ سَرَابِيلَ تَقِيكُمُ الْحَرَّ

and has made for you garments to protect you from the heat (and cold),

وَسَرَابِيلَ تَقِيكُم بَأْسَكُمْ ۚ

and coats of mail to protect you from your (mutual) violence.

كَذَٰلِكَ يُتِمُّ نِعْمَتَهُ عَلَيْكُمْ

Thus does He perfect His Grace unto you,

لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْلِمُونَ

that you may submit yourselves to His Will (in Islam).

فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ الْبَلَاغُ الْمُبِينُ ٨٢

Then, if they turn away, your duty (O Muhammad SAW) is only to convey (the Message) in a clear way.

فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا

Then, if they turn away,

فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ

your duty (O Muhammad SAW) is only to

الْبَلَاغُ الْمُبِينُ

convey (the Message) in a clear way.

يَعْرِفُونَ نِعْمَتَ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ يُنكِرُونَهَا وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ الْكَافِرُونَ ٨٣

They recognise the Grace of Allah, yet they deny it (by worshipping others besides Allah) and most of them are disbelievers (deny the Prophethood of Muhammad SAW).

يَعْرِفُونَ نِعْمَتَ اللَّهِ

They recognise the Grace of Allah

ثُمَّ يُنكِرُونَهَا

yet they deny it

وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ الْكَافِرُونَ

and most of them are disbelievers
