إِنَّ يَوْمَ الْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَاتًا ١٧

Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time,

إِنَّ يَوْمَ الْفَصْلِ
Verily, the Day of Decision
كَانَ مِيقَاتًا
is a fixed time

يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِي الصُّورِ فَتَأْتُونَ أَفْوَاجًا ١٨

The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups);

يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِي الصُّورِ
The Day when the Trumpet will be blown
فَتَأْتُونَ أَفْوَاجًا
and you shall come forth in crowds (groups)

وَفُتِحَتِ السَّمَاءُ فَكَانَتْ أَبْوَابًا ١٩

And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates,

وَفُتِحَتِ السَّمَاءُ
And the heaven shall be opened,
فَكَانَتْ أَبْوَابًا
and it will become as gates,

وَسُيِّرَتِ الْجِبَالُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَابًا ٢٠

And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage.

وَسُيِّرَتِ الْجِبَالُ
And the mountains shall be moved away from their places
فَكَانَتْ سَرَابًا
and they will be as if they were a mirage

إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًا ٢١

Truly, Hell is a place of ambush,

إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ
Truly, Hell
كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًا
is a place of ambush

لِّلطَّاغِينَ مَآبًا ٢٢

A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.),

لِّلطَّاغِينَ
A dwelling place for the Taghun
مَآبًا
(those who transgress the boundary limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hypocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.)

لَّابِثِينَ فِيهَا أَحْقَابًا ٢٣

They will abide therein for ages,

لَّابِثِينَ فِيهَا
They will abide therein
أَحْقَابًا
for ages

لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرْدًا وَلَا شَرَابًا ٢٤

Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink.

لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا
Nothing cool shall they taste therein
بَرْدًا وَلَا شَرَابًا
nor any drink

إِلَّا حَمِيمًا وَغَسَّاقًا ٢٥

Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges.

إِلَّا حَمِيمًا

وَغَسَّاقًا
and dirty wound discharges

جَزَاءً وِفَاقًا ٢٦

An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes).

إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا لَا يَرْجُونَ حِسَابًا ٢٧

For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning.

إِنَّهُمْ

حِسَابًا
a reckoning

وَكَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا كِذَّابًا ٢٨

But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely.

وَكَذَّبُوا

وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَاهُ كِتَابًا ٢٩

And all things We have recorded in a Book.

وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ
And all things
أَحْصَيْنَاهُ
We have recorded
كِتَابًا
in a Book

فَذُوقُوا فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمْ إِلَّا عَذَابًا ٣٠

So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment.

فَذُوقُوا

فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمْ
no increase shall We give you
إِلَّا عَذَابًا
except in torment

إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا ٣١

Verily, for the Muttaqun, there will be a success (Paradise);

إِنَّ
Verily,
لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
for the Muttaqun,
مَفَازًا
there will be a success (Paradise);

حَدَائِقَ وَأَعْنَابًا ٣٢

Gardens and grapeyards;

حَدَائِقَ
Gardens
وَأَعْنَابًا
and grapeyards

وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتْرَابًا ٣٣

And young full-breasted (mature) maidens of equal age;

وَكَوَاعِبَ
And young full-breasted
أَتْرَابًا
(mature) maidens of equal age

وَكَأْسًا دِهَاقًا ٣٤

And a full cup (of wine).

وَكَأْسًا
And a cup
دِهَاقًا
full (of wine)

لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا كِذَّابًا ٣٥

No Laghw (dirty, false, evil talk) shall they hear therein, nor lying;

لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا

وَلَا كِذَّابًا
nor lying

جَزَاءً مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَاءً حِسَابًا ٣٦

A reward from your Lord, an ample calculated gift (according to the best of their good deeds).

رَّبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا الرَّحْمَٰنِ ۖ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًا ٣٧

(From) the Lord of the heavens and the earth, and whatsoever is in between them, the Most Beneficent, none can dare to speak with Him (on the Day of Resurrection except after His Leave).

رَّبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ
the Lord of the heavens and the earth
وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا
and whatsoever is in between them
الرَّحْمَٰنِ ۖ
the Most Beneficent
لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًا
none can dare to speak with Him (on the Day of Resurrection except after His Leave)

يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الرُّوحُ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ صَفًّا ۖ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا ٣٨

The Day that Ar-Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel) or another angel] and the angels will stand forth in rows, none shall speak except him whom the Most Beneficent (Allah) allows, and he will speak what is right.

يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الرُّوحُ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ صَفًّا ۖ
The Day that Ar-Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel) or another angel] and the angels will stand forth in rows
لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ الرَّحْمَٰنُ
none shall speak except him whom the Most Beneficent (Allah) allows
وَقَالَ صَوَابًا
and he will speak what is right

ذَٰلِكَ الْيَوْمُ الْحَقُّ ۖ فَمَن شَاءَ اتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِ مَآبًا ٣٩

That is without doubt the True Day, so, whosoever wills, let him seek a place with (or a way to) His Lord (by obeying Him in this worldly life)!

ذَٰلِكَ الْيَوْمُ الْحَقُّ ۖ
That is without doubt the True Day
فَمَن شَاءَ
so, whosoever wills
اتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِ مَآبًا
let him seek a place with (or a way to) His Lord (by obeying Him in this worldly life)

إِنَّا أَنذَرْنَاكُمْ عَذَابًا قَرِيبًا يَوْمَ يَنظُرُ الْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ الْكَافِرُ يَا لَيْتَنِي كُنتُ تُرَابًا ٤٠

Verily, We have warned you of a near torment, the Day when man will see that (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth, and the disbeliever will say: "Woe to me! Would that I were dust!"

إِنَّا أَنذَرْنَاكُمْ عَذَابًا قَرِيبًا
Verily, We have warned you of a near torment
يَوْمَ يَنظُرُ الْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ
the Day when man will see that (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth
وَيَقُولُ الْكَافِرُ
and the disbeliever will say
يَا لَيْتَنِي كُنتُ تُرَابًا
"Woe to me! Would that I were dust!"
