يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَأْكُلُوا الرِّبَا أَضْعَافًا مُّضَاعَفَةً ۖ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ ١٣٠
O you who believe! Eat not Riba (usury) doubled and multiplied, but fear Allah that you may be successful.
- يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا
- O you who believe!
- تَأْكُلُوا الرِّبَا أَضْعَافًا مُّضَاعَفَةً ۖ وَاتَّقُوا
- Eat not Riba (usury) doubled and multiplied,
- اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ
- but fear Allah
- تُفْلِحُونَ
- that you may be successful.
وَاتَّقُوا النَّارَ الَّتِي أُعِدَّتْ لِلْكَافِرِينَ ١٣١
And fear the Fire, which is prepared for the disbelievers.
- وَاتَّقُوا النَّارَ
- And fear the Fire,
- الَّتِي أُعِدَّتْ لِلْكَافِرِينَ
- which is prepared for the disbelievers.
وَأَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَالرَّسُولَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ ١٣٢
And obey Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) that you may obtain mercy.
- وَأَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ
- And obey Allah
- وَالرَّسُولَ
- and the Messenger (Muhammad SAW)
- لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
- that you may obtain mercy
۞ وَسَارِعُوا إِلَىٰ مَغْفِرَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرْضُهَا السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالْأَرْضُ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ ١٣٣
And march forth in the way (which leads to) forgiveness from your Lord, and for Paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth, prepared for Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V. 2:2).
- ۞ وَسَارِعُوا إِلَىٰ مَغْفِرَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ
- And march forth in the way (which leads to) forgiveness from your Lord,
- وَجَنَّةٍ عَرْضُهَا السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالْأَرْضُ
- and for Paradise as wide as are the heavens and the earth,
- أُعِدَّتْ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
- prepared for Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V. 2:2).
الَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ فِي السَّرَّاءِ وَالضَّرَّاءِ وَالْكَاظِمِينَ الْغَيْظَ وَالْعَافِينَ عَنِ النَّاسِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِنِينَ ١٣٤
Those who spend [in Allah's Cause - deeds of charity, alms, etc.] in prosperity and in adversity, who repress anger, and who pardon men; verily, Allah loves Al-Muhsinun (the good-doers).
- الَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ فِي السَّرَّاءِ وَالضَّرَّاءِ
- Those who spend [in Allah's Cause - deeds of charity, alms, etc.] in prosperity and in adversity
- وَالْكَاظِمِينَ الْغَيْظَ
- who repress anger
- وَالْعَافِينَ عَنِ النَّاسِ ۗ
- and who pardon men
- وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِنِينَ
- verily, Allah loves Al-Muhsinun (the good-doers)
وَالَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُوا فَاحِشَةً أَوْ ظَلَمُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ ذَكَرُوا اللَّهَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُوا لِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَن يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَلَمْ يُصِرُّوا عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلُوا وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ ١٣٥
And those who, when they have committed Fahishah (illegal sexual intercourse etc.) or wronged themselves with evil, remember Allah and ask forgiveness for their sins; - and none can forgive sins but Allah - And do not persist in what (wrong) they have done, while they know.
- وَالَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُوا فَاحِشَةً
- And those who, when they have committed Fahishah
- أَوْ ظَلَمُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ
- or wronged themselves with evil
- ذَكَرُوا اللَّهَ
- remember Allah
- فَاسْتَغْفَرُوا لِذُنُوبِهِمْ
- and ask forgiveness for their sins;
- وَمَن يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ
- - and none can forgive sins but Allah -
- وَلَمْ يُصِرُّوا عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلُوا
- And do not persist in what (wrong) they have done,
- وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ
- while they know.
أُولَٰئِكَ جَزَاؤُهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَجَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ وَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ الْعَامِلِينَ ١٣٦
For such, the reward is Forgiveness from their Lord, and Gardens with rivers flowing underneath (Paradise), wherein they shall abide forever. How excellent is this reward for the doers (who do righteous deeds according to Allah's Orders).
- أُولَٰئِكَ
- For such,
- جَزَاؤُهُم
- the reward is
- مَّغْفِرَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ
- Forgiveness from their Lord,
- وَجَنَّاتٌ
- and Gardens
- تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ
- with rivers flowing underneath (Paradise),
- خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ
- wherein they shall abide forever.
- وَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ الْعَامِلِينَ
- How excellent is this reward for the doers (who do righteous deeds according to Allah's Orders).
قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ سُنَنٌ فَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَانظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ ١٣٧
Many similar ways (and mishaps of life) were faced by nations (believers and disbelievers) that have passed away before you (as you have faced in the battle of Uhud), so travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who disbelieved (in the Oneness of Allah, and disobeyed Him and His Messengers).
- قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ سُنَنٌ
- Many similar ways (and mishaps of life) were faced by nations
- فَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ
- so travel through the earth
- فَانظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ
- and see what was the end of those who disbelieved (in the Oneness of Allah, and disobeyed Him and His Messengers)
هَٰذَا بَيَانٌ لِّلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَمَوْعِظَةٌ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ ١٣٨
This (the Quran) is a plain statement for mankind, a guidance and instruction to those who are Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V. 2:2).
- هَٰذَا بَيَانٌ
- This (the Quran) is a plain statement
- لِّلنَّاسِ
- for mankind
- وَهُدًى
- a guidance
- وَمَوْعِظَةٌ
- and instruction
- لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ
- to those who are Al-Muttaqun (the pious)
وَلَا تَهِنُوا وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا وَأَنتُمُ الْأَعْلَوْنَ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ ١٣٩
So do not become weak (against your enemy), nor be sad, and you will be superior (in victory) if you are indeed (true) believers.
- وَلَا تَهِنُوا
- So do not become weak (against your enemy)
- وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا
- nor be sad
- وَأَنتُمُ الْأَعْلَوْنَ
- and you will be superior (in victory)
- إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
- if you are indeed (true) believers
إِن يَمْسَسْكُمْ قَرْحٌ فَقَدْ مَسَّ الْقَوْمَ قَرْحٌ مِّثْلُهُ ۚ وَتِلْكَ الْأَيَّامُ نُدَاوِلُهَا بَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَيَتَّخِذَ مِنكُمْ شُهَدَاءَ ۗ وَاللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الظَّالِمِينَ ١٤٠
If a wound (and killing) has touched you, be sure a similar wound (and killing) has touched the others. And so are the days (good and not so good), We give to men by turns, that Allah may test those who believe, and that He may take martyrs from among you. And Allah likes not the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers).
- إِن يَمْسَسْكُمْ قَرْحٌ
- If a wound (and killing) has touched you,
- فَقَدْ مَسَّ الْقَوْمَ قَرْحٌ مِّثْلُهُ ۚ
- be sure a similar wound (and killing) has touched the others.
- وَتِلْكَ الْأَيَّامُ نُدَاوِلُهَا بَيْنَ النَّاسِ
- And so are the days (good and not so good), We give to men by turns,
- وَلِيَعْلَمَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا
- that Allah may test those who believe,
- وَيَتَّخِذَ مِنكُمْ شُهَدَاءَ ۗ
- and that He may take martyrs from among you.
- وَاللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الظَّالِمِينَ
- And Allah likes not the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers).
وَلِيُمَحِّصَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَيَمْحَقَ الْكَافِرِينَ ١٤١
And that Allah may test (or purify) the believers (from sins) and destroy the disbelievers.
- وَلِيُمَحِّصَ اللَّهُ
- And that Allah may test (or purify)
- الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا
- the believers (from sins)
- وَيَمْحَقَ الْكَافِرِينَ
- and destroy the disbelievers.
