وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَمْوَاتًا ۚ بَلْ أَحْيَاءٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ ١٦٩

Think not of those who are killed in the Way of Allah as dead. Nay, they are alive, with their Lord, and they have provision.

وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ

Think not of those who are killed in the Way of Allah

أَمْوَاتًا ۚ

as dead.

بَلْ أَحْيَاءٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ

Nay, they are alive, with their Lord,

يُرْزَقُونَ

and they have provision.

فَرِحِينَ بِمَا آتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِ وَيَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِالَّذِينَ لَمْ يَلْحَقُوا بِهِم مِّنْ خَلْفِهِمْ أَلَّا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ ١٧٠

They rejoice in what Allah has bestowed upon them of His Bounty, rejoicing for the sake of those who have not yet joined them, but are left behind (not yet martyred) that on them no fear shall come, nor shall they grieve.

فَرِحِينَ بِمَا آتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِ

They rejoice in what Allah has bestowed upon them of His Bounty

وَيَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِالَّذِينَ لَمْ يَلْحَقُوا بِهِم مِّنْ خَلْفِهِمْ

rejoicing for the sake of those who have not yet joined them, but are left behind

أَلَّا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ

that on them no fear shall come, nor shall they grieve

۞ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِنِعْمَةٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَفَضْلٍ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ١٧١

They rejoice in a Grace and a Bounty from Allah, and that Allah will not waste the reward of the believers.

۞ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ

They rejoice

بِنِعْمَةٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ

in a Grace from Allah

وَفَضْلٍ

and a Bounty

وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

and that Allah will not waste the reward of the believers

الَّذِينَ اسْتَجَابُوا لِلَّهِ وَالرَّسُولِ مِن بَعْدِ مَا أَصَابَهُمُ الْقَرْحُ ۚ لِلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا مِنْهُمْ وَاتَّقَوْا أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ ١٧٢

Those who answered (the Call of) Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad SAW) after being wounded; for those of them who did good deeds and feared Allah, there is a great reward.

الَّذِينَ اسْتَجَابُوا لِلَّهِ وَالرَّسُولِ

Those who answered (the Call of) Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad SAW)

مِن بَعْدِ مَا أَصَابَهُمُ الْقَرْحُ ۚ

after being wounded

لِلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا مِنْهُمْ وَاتَّقَوْا

for those of them who did good deeds and feared Allah

أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ

there is a great reward

الَّذِينَ قَالَ لَهُمُ النَّاسُ إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ جَمَعُوا لَكُمْ فَاخْشَوْهُمْ فَزَادَهُمْ إِيمَانًا وَقَالُوا حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ ١٧٣

Those (i.e. believers) unto whom the people (hypocrites) said, "Verily, the people (pagans) have gathered against you (a great army), therefore, fear them." But it (only) increased them in Faith, and they said: "Allah (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us)."

الَّذِينَ قَالَ لَهُمُ النَّاسُ

Those (i.e. believers) unto whom the people (hypocrites) said,

إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ جَمَعُوا لَكُمْ

"Verily, the people (pagans) have gathered against you

فَاخْشَوْهُمْ

therefore, fear them."

فَزَادَهُمْ إِيمَانًا

But it (only) increased them in Faith,

وَقَالُوا

and they said:

حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ

"Allah (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us)."

فَانقَلَبُوا بِنِعْمَةٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَفَضْلٍ لَّمْ يَمْسَسْهُمْ سُوءٌ وَاتَّبَعُوا رِضْوَانَ اللَّهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَظِيمٍ ١٧٤

So they returned with Grace and Bounty from Allah. No harm touched them; and they followed the good Pleasure of Allah. And Allah is the Owner of Great Bounty.

فَانقَلَبُوا

So they returned

بِنِعْمَةٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَفَضْلٍ

with Grace and Bounty from Allah.

لَّمْ يَمْسَسْهُمْ سُوءٌ

No harm touched them;

وَاتَّبَعُوا رِضْوَانَ اللَّهِ ۗ

and they followed the good Pleasure of Allah.

وَاللَّهُ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَظِيمٍ

And Allah is the Owner of Great Bounty.
