كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ بِالنُّذُرِ ٣٣

The people of Lout (Lot) belied the warnings.

كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ

The people of Lout (Lot) belied

بِالنُّذُرِ

the warnings

إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حَاصِبًا إِلَّا آلَ لُوطٍ ۖ نَّجَّيْنَاهُم بِسَحَرٍ ٣٤

Verily, We sent against them a violent storm of stones (which destroyed them all), except the family of Lout (Lot), whom We saved in last hour of the night,

إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حَاصِبًا

Verily, We sent against them a violent storm of stones

إِلَّا آلَ لُوطٍ ۖ

except the family of Lout (Lot)

نَّجَّيْنَاهُم بِسَحَرٍ

whom We saved in last hour of the night

نِّعْمَةً مِّنْ عِندِنَا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي مَن شَكَرَ ٣٥

As a Favour from Us, thus do We reward him who gives thanks (by obeying Us).

نِّعْمَةً مِّنْ عِندِنَا ۚ

As a Favour from Us

كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي

thus do We reward

مَن شَكَرَ

him who gives thanks (by obeying Us)

وَلَقَدْ أَنذَرَهُم بَطْشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوْا بِالنُّذُرِ ٣٦

And he [Lout (Lot)] indeed had warned them of Our Grasp, but they did doubt the warnings!

وَلَقَدْ أَنذَرَهُم

And he [Lout (Lot)] indeed had warned them

بَطْشَتَنَا

of Our Grasp

فَتَمَارَوْا

but they did doubt

بِالنُّذُرِ

the warnings!

وَلَقَدْ رَاوَدُوهُ عَن ضَيْفِهِ فَطَمَسْنَا أَعْيُنَهُمْ فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ ٣٧

And they indeed sought to shame his guest (by asking to commit sodomy with them). So We blinded their eyes, "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings."

وَلَقَدْ رَاوَدُوهُ عَن ضَيْفِهِ

And they indeed sought to shame his guest

فَطَمَسْنَا أَعْيُنَهُمْ

So We blinded their eyes

فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ

Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings

وَلَقَدْ صَبَّحَهُم بُكْرَةً عَذَابٌ مُّسْتَقِرٌّ ٣٨

And verily, an abiding torment seized them early in the morning.

وَلَقَدْ صَبَّحَهُم

And verily, seized them early in the morning

بُكْرَةً عَذَابٌ

an abiding torment

مُّسْتَقِرٌّ

that is abiding

فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ ٣٩

"Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings."

فَذُوقُوا

Then taste

عَذَابِي

My Torment

وَنُذُرِ

and

My Warnings

وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ ٤٠

And indeed, We have made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?

وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا

And indeed, We have made

الْقُرْآنَ

the Quran

لِلذِّكْرِ

easy

فَهَلْ

to understand and remember

مِن مُّدَّكِرٍ

then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)?
