إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا كَانُوا مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يَضْحَكُونَ ٢٩

Verily! (During the worldly life) those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed.

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا

Verily! (During the worldly life) those who committed crimes

كَانُوا مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا

used to laugh at those who believed.

يَضْحَكُونَ

وَإِذَا مَرُّوا بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ ٣٠

And whenever they passed by them, used to wink one to another (in mockery);

وَإِذَا مَرُّوا بِهِمْ

And whenever they passed by them

يَتَغَامَزُونَ

used to wink one to another (in mockery)

وَإِذَا انقَلَبُوا إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِمُ انقَلَبُوا فَكِهِينَ ٣١

And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting;

وَإِذَا انقَلَبُوا

And when they returned

إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِمُ

to their own people

انقَلَبُوا فَكِهِينَ

they would return jesting

وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوا إِنَّ هَٰؤُلَاءِ لَضَالُّونَ ٣٢

And when they saw them, they said: "Verily! These have indeed gone astray!"

وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ

And when they saw them

قَالُوا

they said

إِنَّ هَٰؤُلَاءِ

Verily! These

لَضَالُّونَ

have indeed gone astray!

وَمَا أُرْسِلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ حَافِظِينَ ٣٣

But they (disbelievers, sinners) had not been sent as watchers over them (the believers).

وَمَا أُرْسِلُوا

But they (disbelievers, sinners) had not been sent

عَلَيْهِمْ حَافِظِينَ

as watchers over them (the believers)

فَالْيَوْمَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ ٣٤

But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers

فَالْيَوْمَ

But this Day

الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا

those who believe

مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ

at the disbelievers

يَضْحَكُونَ

will laugh

عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنظُرُونَ ٣٥

On (high) thrones, looking (at all things).

عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ

On (high) thrones

يَنظُرُونَ

looking (at all things)

هَلْ ثُوِّبَ الْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ ٣٦

Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do?

هَلْ ثُوِّبَ الْكُفَّارُ

Are not the disbelievers paid

مَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ

for what they used to do?
