وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ ١
By the night as it envelops;
- وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ
- By the night as it envelops
وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ ٢
And by the day as it appears in brightness;
- وَالنَّهَارِ
- And by the day
- إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ

وَمَا خَلَقَ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنثَىٰ ٣
And by Him Who created male and female;
- وَمَا خَلَقَ

- الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنثَىٰ

إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ ٤
Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes);
- إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ

- لَشَتَّىٰ
