فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِمَا تُبْصِرُونَ ٣٨

So I swear by whatsoever you see,

فَلَا أُقْسِمُ

So I swear

بِمَا تُبْصِرُونَ

by whatsoever you see

وَمَا لَا تُبْصِرُونَ ٣٩

And by whatsoever you see not,

وَمَا

And by

لَا تُبْصِرُونَ

whatsoever you see not

إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلُ رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ ٤٠

That this is verily the word of an honoured Messenger [i.e. Jibrael (Gabriel) or Muhammad SAW which he has brought from Allah].

إِنَّهُ

That this is verily

لَقَوْلُ

the word of

رَسُولٍ كَرِيمٍ

an honoured Messenger [i.e. Jibrael (Gabriel) or Muhammad SAW which he has brought from Allah]

وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَاعِرٍ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تُؤْمِنُونَ ٤١

It is not the word of a poet, little is that you believe!

وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَاعِرٍ ۚ

It is not the word of a poet,

قَلِيلًا مَّا تُؤْمِنُونَ

little is that you believe!

وَلَا بِقَوْلِ كَاهِنٍ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ ٤٢

Nor is it the word of a soothsayer (or a foreteller), little is that you remember!

وَلَا بِقَوْلِ كَاهِنٍ ۚ

Nor is it the word of a soothsayer (or a foreteller)

قَلِيلًا مَّا تَذَكَّرُونَ

little is that you remember!

تَنزِيلٌ مِّن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ٤٣

This is the Revelation sent down from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).

This is the Revelation

مِّن رَّبِّ

sent down from the Lord

الْعَالَمِينَ

of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)

وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا بَعْضَ الْأَقَاوِيلِ ٤٤

And if he (Muhammad SAW) had forged a false saying concerning Us (Allah),

وَلَوْ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيْنَا

And if he (Muhammad SAW) had forged against Us

بَعْضَ الْأَقَاوِيلِ

some false sayings

لَأَخَذْنَا مِنْهُ بِالْيَمِينِ ٤٥

We surely should have seized him by his right hand (or with power and might),

لَأَخَذْنَا

We surely should have seized

مِنْهُ

him

بِالْيَمِينِ

by his right hand (or with power and might)

ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا مِنْهُ الْوَتِينَ ٤٦

And then certainly should have cut off his life artery (Aorta),

ثُمَّ لَقَطَعْنَا

And then certainly should have cut off

مِنْهُ

his

الْوَتِينَ

life artery (Aorta)

فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ عَنْهُ حَاجِزِينَ ٤٧

And none of you could withhold Us from (punishing) him.

فَمَا مِنكُم

And none of you

مِّنْ أَحَدٍ

could withhold Us from

عَنْهُ حَاجِزِينَ

(punishing) him.

وَإِنَّهُ لَتَذْكِرَةٌ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ ٤٨

And verily, this Quran is a Reminder for the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2).

وَإِنَّهُ

And verily,

لَتَذْكِرَةٌ

this Quran is a Reminder

لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ

for the Muttaqun (pious)

وَإِنَّا لَنَعْلَمُ أَنَّ مِنكُم مُّكَذِّبِينَ ٤٩

And verily, We know that there are some among you that belie (this Quran). [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 29, Page 68]

وَإِنَّا

And verily,

لَنَعْلَمُ

We know that

أَنَّ مِنكُم

there are some among you

مُّكَذِّبِينَ

that belie (this Quran).

وَإِنَّهُ لَحَسْرَةٌ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ ٥٠

And indeed it (this Quran) will be an anguish for the disbelievers (on the Day of Resurrection).

وَإِنَّهُ

And indeed it

لَحَسْرَةٌ

will be an anguish

عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ

for the disbelievers (on the Day of Resurrection)

وَإِنَّهُ لَحَقُّ الْيَقِينِ ٥١

And Verily, it (this Quran) is an absolute truth with certainty.

وَإِنَّهُ

And Verily,

لَحَقُّ الْيَقِينِ

it (this Quran) is an absolute truth with certainty.

فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ ٥٢

So glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most Great.

فَسَبِّحْ

So glorify

بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ

the Name of your Lord

الْعَظِيمِ

the Most Great
