وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِشِمَالِهِ فَيَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي لَمْ أُوتَ كِتَابِيَهْ ٢٥
But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record!
- وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِشِمَالِهِ
- But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand,
- فَيَقُولُ
- will say:
- يَا لَيْتَنِي لَمْ أُوتَ كِتَابِيَهْ
- "I wish that I had not been given my Record!
وَلَمْ أَدْرِ مَا حِسَابِيَهْ ٢٦
"And that I had never known, how my Account is?
- وَلَمْ أَدْرِ
- And that I had never known
- مَا حِسَابِيَهْ
- how my Account is?
يَا لَيْتَهَا كَانَتِ الْقَاضِيَةَ ٢٧
"I wish, would that it had been my end (death)!
- يَا لَيْتَهَا كَانَتِ
- I wish,
- الْقَاضِيَةَ
- would that it had been my end (death)!
مَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنِّي مَالِيَهْ ۜ ٢٨
"My wealth has not availed me,
- مَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنِّي
- has not availed me
- مَالِيَهْ ۜ
- My wealth
هَلَكَ عَنِّي سُلْطَانِيَهْ ٢٩
"My power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!"
- هَلَكَ عَنِّي

خُذُوهُ فَغُلُّوهُ ٣٠
(It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him,

ثُمَّ الْجَحِيمَ صَلُّوهُ ٣١
Then throw him in the blazing Fire.

ثُمَّ فِي سِلْسِلَةٍ ذَرْعُهَا سَبْعُونَ ذِرَاعًا فَاسْلُكُوهُ ٣٢
"Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!"

Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great,
- إِنَّهُ
- Verily, He
- كَانَ لَا يُؤْمِنُ
- used not to believe
- بِاللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ
- in Allah, the Most Great
وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ ٣٤
And urged not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor),
- وَلَا يَحُضُّ
- And urged not
- عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ
- on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor)
فَلَيْسَ لَهُ الْيَوْمَ هَاهُنَا حَمِيمٌ ٣٥
So no friend has he here this Day,
- فَلَيْسَ لَهُ

وَلَا طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنْ غِسْلِينٍ ٣٦
Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds,
- وَلَا طَعَامٌ

- except filth from the washing of wounds
لَّا يَأْكُلُهُ إِلَّا الْخَاطِئُونَ ٣٧
None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.).
