وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ وَجَعَلْنَا مَعَهُ أَخَاهُ هَارُونَ وَزِيرًا ٣٥
And indeed We gave Musa (Moses) the Scripture [the Taurat (Torah)], and placed his brother Harun (Aaron) with him as a helper;
- وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا
- And indeed We gave
- مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ

- وَجَعَلْنَا مَعَهُ
- and placed with him
- أَخَاهُ هَارُونَ
- his brother Harun (Aaron)
- وَزِيرًا
- as a helper
فَقُلْنَا اذْهَبَا إِلَى الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا فَدَمَّرْنَاهُمْ تَدْمِيرًا ٣٦
And We said: "Go you both to the people who have denied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.)." Then We destroyed them with utter destruction.
- فَقُلْنَا
- And We said:
- اذْهَبَا إِلَى الْقَوْمِ
- Go you both to the people
- الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا
- who have denied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.).
- فَدَمَّرْنَاهُمْ تَدْمِيرًا
- Then We destroyed them with utter destruction.
وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ لَّمَّا كَذَّبُوا الرُّسُلَ أَغْرَقْنَاهُمْ وَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ لِلنَّاسِ آيَةً ۖ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِلظَّالِمِينَ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا ٣٧
And Nuh's (Noah) people, when they denied the Messengers We drowned them, and We made them as a sign for mankind. And We have prepared a painful torment for the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc).
- وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ
- And Nuh's (Noah) people
- لَّمَّا كَذَّبُوا الرُّسُلَ
- when they denied the Messengers
- أَغْرَقْنَاهُمْ
- We drowned them
- وَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ لِلنَّاسِ آيَةً ۖ
- and We made them as a sign for mankind
- وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِلظَّالِمِينَ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا
- And We have prepared a painful torment for the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc)
وَعَادًا وَثَمُودَ وَأَصْحَابَ الرَّسِّ وَقُرُونًا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ كَثِيرًا ٣٨
And (also) 'Ad and Thamud, and the dwellers of Ar-Rass, and many generations in between.
- وَعَادًا
- And (also) 'Ad

- وَأَصْحَابَ الرَّسِّ
- and the dwellers of Ar-Rass
- وَقُرُونًا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ كَثِيرًا
- and many generations in between.
وَكُلًّا ضَرَبْنَا لَهُ الْأَمْثَالَ ۖ وَكُلًّا تَبَّرْنَا تَتْبِيرًا ٣٩
And for each of them We put forward examples (as proofs and lessons, etc.), and each (of them) We brought to utter ruin (because of their disbelief and evil deeds).

- ضَرَبْنَا لَهُ الْأَمْثَالَ ۖ

وَلَقَدْ أَتَوْا عَلَى الْقَرْيَةِ الَّتِي أُمْطِرَتْ مَطَرَ السَّوْءِ ۚ أَفَلَمْ يَكُونُوا يَرَوْنَهَا ۚ بَلْ كَانُوا لَا يَرْجُونَ نُشُورًا ٤٠
And indeed they have passed by the town [of Prophet Lout (Lot)] on which was rained the evil rain. Did they (disbelievers) not then see it (with their own eyes)? Nay! But they used not to expect for any resurrection.
- وَلَقَدْ أَتَوْا عَلَى الْقَرْيَةِ
- And indeed they have passed by the town
- الَّتِي أُمْطِرَتْ مَطَرَ السَّوْءِ ۚ
- on which was rained the evil rain.
- أَفَلَمْ يَكُونُوا يَرَوْنَهَا ۚ
- Did they (disbelievers) not then see it (with their own eyes)?
- بَلْ كَانُوا لَا يَرْجُونَ نُشُورًا
- Nay! But they used not to expect for any resurrection.
