قُلْ أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ أَمْ جَنَّةُ الْخُلْدِ الَّتِي وُعِدَ الْمُتَّقُونَ ۚ كَانَتْ لَهُمْ جَزَاءً وَمَصِيرًا ١٥

Say: (O Muhammad SAW) "Is that (torment) better or the Paradise of Eternity promised to the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2)?" It will be theirs as a reward and as a final destination.

قُلْ أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ

Say: (O Muhammad SAW) 'Is that (torment) better

أَمْ جَنَّةُ الْخُلْدِ

or the Paradise of Eternity

الَّتِي وُعِدَ الْمُتَّقُونَ ۚ

promised to the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2)?

كَانَتْ لَهُمْ جَزَاءً وَمَصِيرًا

It will be theirs as a reward and as a final destination.

لَّهُمْ فِيهَا مَا يَشَاءُونَ خَالِدِينَ ۚ كَانَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ وَعْدًا مَّسْئُولًا ١٦

For them there will be therein all that they desire, and they will abide (there forever). It is a promise binding upon your Lord that must be fulfilled.

لَّهُمْ فِيهَا مَا يَشَاءُونَ

For them there will be therein all that they desire

خَالِدِينَ ۚ

and they will abide (there forever)

كَانَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ وَعْدًا مَّسْئُولًا

It is a promise binding upon your Lord that must be fulfilled
