يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اسْتَعِينُوا بِالصَّبْرِ وَالصَّلَاةِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الصَّابِرِينَ ١٥٣

O you who believe! Seek help in patience and As-Salat (the prayer). Truly! Allah is with As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.).

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اسْتَعِينُوا

O you who believe!

بِالصَّبْرِ وَالصَّلَاةِ ۚ إِنَّ

Seek help in patience and As-Salat (the prayer).

اللَّهَ مَعَ الصَّابِرِينَ

Truly! Allah is with As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.).

وَلَا تَقُولُوا لِمَن يُقْتَلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَمْوَاتٌ ۚ بَلْ أَحْيَاءٌ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تَشْعُرُونَ ١٥٤

And say not of those who are killed in the Way of Allah, "They are dead." Nay, they are living, but you perceive (it) not.

وَلَا تَقُولُوا

And say not

لِمَن يُقْتَلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ

of those who are killed in the Way of Allah

أَمْوَاتٌ ۚ

"They are dead."

بَلْ أَحْيَاءٌ

Nay, they are living,

وَلَٰكِن لَّا تَشْعُرُونَ

but you perceive (it) not.

وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُم بِشَيْءٍ مِّنَ الْخَوْفِ وَالْجُوعِ وَنَقْصٍ مِّنَ الْأَمْوَالِ وَالْأَنفُسِ وَالثَّمَرَاتِ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ الصَّابِرِينَ ١٥٥

And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.).

وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُم

And certainly, We shall test you

بِشَيْءٍ مِّنَ الْخَوْفِ

with something of fear

وَالْجُوعِ

and hunger

وَنَقْصٍ مِّنَ الْأَمْوَالِ

and loss of wealth

وَالْأَنفُسِ

lives

وَالثَّمَرَاتِ ۗ

and fruits

وَبَشِّرِ الصَّابِرِينَ

but give glad tidings to As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.)

الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُم مُّصِيبَةٌ قَالُوا إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ ١٥٦

Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: "Truly! To Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return."

الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُم

when afflicted with calamity

مُّصِيبَةٌ

they say

قَالُوا إِنَّا

Truly! To Allah we belong

لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ

and truly, to Him we shall return

أُولَٰئِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ صَلَوَاتٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَرَحْمَةٌ ۖ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُهْتَدُونَ ١٥٧

They are those on whom are the Salawat (i.e. blessings, etc.) (i.e. who are blessed and will be forgiven) from their Lord, and (they are those who) receive His Mercy, and it is they who are the guided-ones.

أُولَٰئِكَ

They are those

عَلَيْهِمْ صَلَوَاتٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ

on whom are the Salawat (i.e. blessings, etc.) from their Lord

وَرَحْمَةٌ ۖ

and (they are those who) receive His Mercy

وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُهْتَدُونَ

and it is they who are the guided-ones
