ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْمَرْحَمَةِ ١٧

Then he became one of those who believed, and recommended one another to perseverance and patience, and (also) recommended one another to pity and compassion.

ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا

Then he became one of those who believed

وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالصَّبْرِ

and recommended one another to perseverance and patience

وَتَوَاصَوْا بِالْمَرْحَمَةِ

and (also) recommended one another to pity and compassion

أُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ ١٨

They are those on the Right Hand (the dwellers of Paradise),

أُولَٰئِكَ

They are those

أَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ

on the Right Hand (the dwellers of Paradise)

وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِنَا هُمْ أَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ ١٩

But those who disbelieved in Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), they are those on the Left Hand (the dwellers of Hell).

وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِنَا

But those who disbelieved in Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.)

هُمْ أَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ

they are those on the Left Hand (the dwellers of Hell)

عَلَيْهِمْ نَارٌ مُّؤْصَدَةٌ ٢٠

The Fire will be shut over them (i.e. they will be enveloped by the Fire without any opening or window or outlet.

The Fire will be shut (i.e. enveloped by the Fire without any opening or window or outlet)
