لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ فَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ ٥٩

Indeed, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people and he said: "O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. (La ilaha ill-Allah: none has the right to be worshipped but Allah). Certainly, I fear for you the torment of a Great Day!"

لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ

Indeed, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people

فَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا

and he said: 'O my people! Worship Allah!

لَكُم مِّنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ إِنِّي

You have no other Ilah (God) but Him.

أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ

Certainly, I fear for you the torment of a Great Day!

قَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِهِ إِنَّا لَنَرَاكَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ ٦٠

The leaders of his people said: "Verily, we see you in plain error."

قَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِهِ

The leaders of his people said

إِنَّا لَنَرَاكَ

Verily, we see you

فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ

in plain error

قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ لَيْسَ بِي ضَلَالَةٌ وَلَٰكِنِّي رَسُولٌ مِّن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ٦١

[Nuh (Noah)] said: "O my people! There is no error in me, but I am a Messenger from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!

قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ لَيْسَ

said: O my people!

بِي ضَلَالَةٌ وَلَٰكِنِّي

There is no error in me,

رَسُولٌ مِّن

but I am a Messenger

رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!

أُبَلِّغُكُمْ رِسَالَاتِ رَبِّي وَأَنصَحُ لَكُمْ وَأَعْلَمُ مِنَ اللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ ٦٢

"I convey unto you the Messages of my Lord and give sincere advice to you. And I know from Allah what you know not.

أُبَلِّغُكُمْ رِسَالَاتِ رَبِّي

I convey unto you the Messages of my Lord

وَأَنصَحُ لَكُمْ

and give sincere advice to you.

وَأَعْلَمُ مِنَ اللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

And I know from Allah what you know not.

أَوَعَجِبْتُمْ أَن جَاءَكُمْ ذِكْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍ مِّنكُمْ لِيُنذِرَكُمْ وَلِتَتَّقُوا وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ ٦٣

"Do you wonder that there has come to you a Reminder from your Lord through a man from amongst you, that he may warn you, so that you may fear Allah and that you may receive (His) Mercy?"

أَوَعَجِبْتُمْ

Do you wonder

أَن جَاءَكُمْ ذِكْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ

that there has come to you a Reminder from your Lord

عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍ مِّنكُمْ

through a man from amongst you

لِيُنذِرَكُمْ

that he may warn you

وَلِتَتَّقُوا

so that you may fear Allah

وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ

and that you may receive (His) Mercy

فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَنجَيْنَاهُ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ فِي الْفُلْكِ وَأَغْرَقْنَا الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمًا عَمِينَ ٦٤

But they belied him, so We saved him and those along with him in the ship, and We drowned those who belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). They were indeed a blind people.

فَكَذَّبُوهُ

But they belied him,

فَأَنجَيْنَاهُ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ فِي الْفُلْكِ

so We saved him and those along with him in the ship,

وَأَغْرَقْنَا الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا ۚ

and We drowned those who belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.).

إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمًا عَمِينَ

They were indeed a blind people.
