ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِن بَعْدِهِم مُّوسَىٰ بِآيَاتِنَا إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَئِهِ فَظَلَمُوا بِهَا ۖ فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُفْسِدِينَ ١٠٣

Then after them We sent Musa (Moses) with Our Signs to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his chiefs, but they wrongfully rejected them. So see how was the end of the Mufsidun (mischief-makers, corrupts, etc.).

ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِن بَعْدِهِم مُّوسَىٰ

Then after them We sent Musa (Moses)

بِآيَاتِنَا إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَئِهِ

with Our Signs to Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his chiefs

فَظَلَمُوا بِهَا ۖ

but they wrongfully rejected them

فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُفْسِدِينَ

So see how was the end of the Mufsidun (mischief-makers, corrupts, etc.)

وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ يَا فِرْعَوْنُ إِنِّي رَسُولٌ مِّن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ١٠٤

And Musa (Moses) said: "O Fir'aun (Pharaoh)! I am a Messenger from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).

وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ

And Musa (Moses) said:

يَا فِرْعَوْنُ إِنِّي

O Fir'aun (Pharaoh)!

رَسُولٌ مِّن

I am a Messenger

رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).

حَقِيقٌ عَلَىٰ أَن لَّا أَقُولَ عَلَى اللَّهِ إِلَّا الْحَقَّ ۚ قَدْ جِئْتُكُم بِبَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ فَأَرْسِلْ مَعِيَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ١٠٥

"Proper it is for me that I say nothing concerning Allah but the truth. Indeed I have come unto you from your Lord with a clear proof. So let the Children of Israel depart along with me."

حَقِيقٌ عَلَىٰ أَن لَّا أَقُولَ عَلَى اللَّهِ إِلَّا الْحَقَّ ۚ

Proper it is for me that I say nothing concerning Allah but the truth.

قَدْ جِئْتُكُم بِبَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ

Indeed I have come unto you from your Lord with a clear proof.

فَأَرْسِلْ مَعِيَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ

So let the Children of Israel depart along with me.

قَالَ إِن كُنتَ جِئْتَ بِآيَةٍ فَأْتِ بِهَا إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ ١٠٦

[Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said: "If you have come with a sign, show it forth, - if you are one of those who tell the truth."

قَالَ

said

إِن كُنتَ جِئْتَ بِآيَةٍ

If you have come with a sign

فَأْتِ بِهَا

show it forth

إِن كُنتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ

if you are one of those who tell the truth

فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ ١٠٧

Then [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick and behold! it was a serpent, manifest!

فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ

Then [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick

فَإِذَا هِيَ

and behold! it was

ثُعْبَانٌ مُّبِينٌ

a serpent, manifest!

وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ بَيْضَاءُ لِلنَّاظِرِينَ ١٠٨

And he drew out his hand, and behold! it was white (with radiance) for the beholders.

وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُ

And he drew out his hand,

فَإِذَا هِيَ بَيْضَاءُ

and behold! it was white

لِلنَّاظِرِينَ

(with radiance) for the beholders.

قَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسَاحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ ١٠٩

The chiefs of the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "This is indeed a well-versed sorcerer;

قَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ

The chiefs of the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said:

إِنَّ هَٰذَا

This is indeed

لَسَاحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ

a well-versed sorcerer;

يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُمْ ۖ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ ١١٠

"He wants to get you out of your land, so what do you advise?"

يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم

He wants to get you out

مِّنْ أَرْضِكُمْ ۖ

of your land

فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ

so what do you advise?

قَالُوا أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَأَرْسِلْ فِي الْمَدَائِنِ حَاشِرِينَ ١١١

They said: "Put him and his brother off (for a time), and send callers (men) to the cities to collect (and) -

قَالُوا

They said:

أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ

Put him and his brother off (for a time),

وَأَرْسِلْ فِي الْمَدَائِنِ حَاشِرِينَ

and send callers (men) to the cities to collect (and)

يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَاحِرٍ عَلِيمٍ ١١٢

"That they bring up to you all well-versed sorcerers."

يَأْتُوكَ

That they bring up to you

بِكُلِّ سَاحِرٍ

all well-versed sorcerers

عَلِيمٍ

وَجَاءَ السَّحَرَةُ فِرْعَوْنَ قَالُوا إِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ الْغَالِبِينَ ١١٣

And so the sorcerers came to Fir'aun (Pharaoh). They said: "Indeed there will be a (good) reward for us if we are the victors."

وَجَاءَ السَّحَرَةُ فِرْعَوْنَ

And so the sorcerers came to Fir'aun (Pharaoh).

قَالُوا

They said:

إِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا

Indeed there will be a (good) reward for us

إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ الْغَالِبِينَ

if we are the victors.

قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ لَمِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ ١١٤

He said: "Yes, and moreover you will (in that case) be of the nearest (to me)."

قَالَ نَعَمْ

He said: 'Yes,'

وَإِنَّكُمْ لَمِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ

and moreover you will (in that case) be of the nearest (to me).

قَالُوا يَا مُوسَىٰ إِمَّا أَن تُلْقِيَ وَإِمَّا أَن نَّكُونَ نَحْنُ الْمُلْقِينَ ١١٥

They said: "O Musa (Moses)! Either you throw (first), or shall we have the (first) throw?"

قَالُوا

They said:

يَا مُوسَىٰ إِمَّا

O Musa (Moses)!

أَن تُلْقِيَ وَإِمَّا

Either you throw (first),

أَن نَّكُونَ نَحْنُ

or shall we have

الْمُلْقِينَ

the (first) throw?

قَالَ أَلْقُوا ۖ فَلَمَّا أَلْقَوْا سَحَرُوا أَعْيُنَ النَّاسِ وَاسْتَرْهَبُوهُمْ وَجَاءُوا بِسِحْرٍ عَظِيمٍ ١١٦

He [Musa (Moses)] said: "Throw you (first)." So when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people, and struck terror into them, and they displayed a great magic.

قَالَ أَلْقُوا ۖ

He [Musa (Moses)] said: 'Throw you (first).'

فَلَمَّا أَلْقَوْا

So when they threw,

سَحَرُوا أَعْيُنَ النَّاسِ

they bewitched the eyes of the people,

وَاسْتَرْهَبُوهُمْ

and struck terror into them,

وَجَاءُوا بِسِحْرٍ عَظِيمٍ

and they displayed a great magic.

۞ وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ أَنْ أَلْقِ عَصَاكَ ۖ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ ١١٧

And We inspired Musa (Moses) (saying): "Throw your stick," and behold! It swallowed up straight away all the falsehoods which they showed.

۞ وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ

And We inspired Musa (Moses)

أَنْ أَلْقِ عَصَاكَ ۖ

(saying): 'Throw your stick,'

فَإِذَا هِيَ تَلْقَفُ

and behold! It swallowed up

مَا يَأْفِكُونَ

straight away all the falsehoods which they showed.

فَوَقَعَ الْحَقُّ وَبَطَلَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ ١١٨

Thus truth was confirmed, and all that they did was made of no effect.

فَوَقَعَ الْحَقُّ

Thus truth was confirmed

وَبَطَلَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ

and all that they did was made of no effect

فَغُلِبُوا هُنَالِكَ وَانقَلَبُوا صَاغِرِينَ ١١٩

So they were defeated there and then, and were returned disgraced.

فَغُلِبُوا هُنَالِكَ

So they were defeated there

وَانقَلَبُوا صَاغِرِينَ

and were returned disgraced

وَأُلْقِيَ السَّحَرَةُ سَاجِدِينَ ١٢٠

And the sorcerers fell down prostrate.

وَأُلْقِيَ السَّحَرَةُ

And the sorcerers fell down

سَاجِدِينَ

prostrate.

قَالُوا آمَنَّا بِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ١٢١

They said: "We believe in the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).

قَالُوا

They said

آمَنَّا

We believe

بِرَبِّ

in the Lord of

الْعَالَمِينَ

'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)

رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَارُونَ ١٢٢

"The Lord of Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)."

رَبِّ

The Lord of

مُوسَىٰ وَهَارُونَ

Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)

قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ آمَنتُم بِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ آذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَمَكْرٌ مَّكَرْتُمُوهُ فِي الْمَدِينَةِ لِتُخْرِجُوا مِنْهَا أَهْلَهَا ۖ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ١٢٣

Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "You have believed in him [Musa (Moses)] before I give you permission. Surely, this is a plot which you have plotted in the city to drive out its people, but you shall come to know.

قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ

Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said:

آمَنتُم بِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ آذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ

You have believed in him [Musa (Moses)] before I give you permission.

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَمَكْرٌ مَّكَرْتُمُوهُ فِي الْمَدِينَةِ

Surely, this is a plot which you have plotted in the city

لِتُخْرِجُوا مِنْهَا أَهْلَهَا ۖ

to drive out its people,

فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ

but you shall come to know.

لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَافٍ ثُمَّ لَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ ١٢٤

"Surely, I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, then I will crucify you all."

لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَافٍ

Surely, I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides

ثُمَّ لَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

then I will crucify you all

قَالُوا إِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ ١٢٥

They said: "Verily, we are returning to our Lord.

قَالُوا

They said

إِنَّا

Verily, we

إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا

are returning to our Lord

مُنقَلِبُونَ

وَمَا تَنقِمُ مِنَّا إِلَّا أَنْ آمَنَّا بِآيَاتِ رَبِّنَا لَمَّا جَاءَتْنَا ۚ رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ ١٢٦

"And you take vengeance on us only because we believed in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.) of our Lord when they reached us! Our Lord! pour out on us patience, and cause us to die as Muslims."

وَمَا تَنقِمُ مِنَّا إِلَّا أَنْ آمَنَّا بِآيَاتِ رَبِّنَا لَمَّا جَاءَتْنَا ۚ

And you take vengeance on us only because we believed in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.) of our Lord when they reached us!

رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا

Our Lord! pour out on us patience,

وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ

and cause us to die as Muslims.

وَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ أَتَذَرُ مُوسَىٰ وَقَوْمَهُ لِيُفْسِدُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَيَذَرَكَ وَآلِهَتَكَ ۚ قَالَ سَنُقَتِّلُ أَبْنَاءَهُمْ وَنَسْتَحْيِي نِسَاءَهُمْ وَإِنَّا فَوْقَهُمْ قَاهِرُونَ ١٢٧

The chiefs of Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people said: "Will you leave Musa (Moses) and his people to spread mischief in the land, and to abandon you and your gods?" He said: "We will kill their sons, and let live their women, and we have indeed irresistible power over them."

وَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِن قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ

The chiefs of Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people said:

أَتَذَرُ مُوسَىٰ وَقَوْمَهُ

Will you leave Musa (Moses) and his people

لِيُفْسِدُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ

to spread mischief in the land,

وَيَذَرَكَ وَآلِهَتَكَ ۚ

and to abandon you and your gods?

قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ اسْتَعِينُوا بِاللَّهِ وَاصْبِرُوا ۖ إِنَّ الْأَرْضَ لِلَّهِ يُورِثُهَا مَن يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ ۖ وَالْعَاقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ ١٢٨

Musa (Moses) said to his people: "Seek help in Allah and be patient. Verily, the earth is Allah's. He gives it as a heritage to whom He will of His slaves, and the (blessed) end is for the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2)."

قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ

Musa (Moses) said to his people:

اسْتَعِينُوا بِاللَّهِ وَاصْبِرُوا ۖ

Seek help in Allah and be patient.

إِنَّ الْأَرْضَ لِلَّهِ

Verily, the earth is Allah's.

يُورِثُهَا مَن يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ ۖ

He gives it as a heritage to whom He will of His slaves,

وَالْعَاقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ

and the (blessed) end is for the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2).

قَالُوا أُوذِينَا مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَأْتِيَنَا وَمِن بَعْدِ مَا جِئْتَنَا ۚ قَالَ عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمْ أَن يُهْلِكَ عَدُوَّكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرَ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ ١٢٩

They said: "We (Children of Israel) had suffered troubles before you came to us, and since you have come to us." He said: "It may be that your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you successors on the earth, so that He may see how you act?"

قَالُوا أُوذِينَا مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَأْتِيَنَا

They said: 'We (Children of Israel) had suffered troubles before you came to us,'

وَمِن بَعْدِ مَا جِئْتَنَا ۚ

and since you have come to us.'

قَالَ عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمْ أَن يُهْلِكَ عَدُوَّكُمْ

He said: 'It may be that your Lord will destroy your enemy'

وَيَسْتَخْلِفَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ

and make you successors on the earth,'

فَيَنظُرَ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ

so that He may see how you act?'

وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَا آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ بِالسِّنِينَ وَنَقْصٍ مِّنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ ١٣٠

And indeed We punished the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with years of drought and shortness of fruits (crops, etc.), that they might remember (take heed).

وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَا

And indeed We punished

آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ

the people of Fir'aun (Pharaoh)

بِالسِّنِينَ

with years of drought

وَنَقْصٍ مِّنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ

and shortness of fruits (crops, etc.)

لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ

that they might remember (take heed)

فَإِذَا جَاءَتْهُمُ الْحَسَنَةُ قَالُوا لَنَا هَٰذِهِ ۖ وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَطَّيَّرُوا بِمُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُ ۗ أَلَا إِنَّمَا طَائِرُهُمْ عِندَ اللَّهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ١٣١

But whenever good came to them, they said: "Ours is this." And if evil afflicted them, they ascribed it to evil omens connected with Musa (Moses) and those with him. Be informed! Verily, their evil omens are with Allah but most of them know not.

فَإِذَا جَاءَتْهُمُ الْحَسَنَةُ

But whenever good came to them,

قَالُوا لَنَا هَٰذِهِ ۖ

they said: 'Ours is this.'

وَإِن تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ

And if evil afflicted them,

يَطَّيَّرُوا بِمُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُ ۗ

they ascribed it to evil omens connected with Musa (Moses) and those with him.

أَلَا إِنَّمَا طَائِرُهُمْ عِندَ اللَّهِ

Be informed! Verily, their evil omens are with Allah

وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

but most of them know not.

وَقَالُوا مَهْمَا تَأْتِنَا بِهِ مِنْ آيَةٍ لِّتَسْحَرَنَا بِهَا فَمَا نَحْنُ لَكَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ ١٣٢

They said [to Musa (Moses)]: "Whatever Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) you may bring to us, to work therewith your sorcery on us, we shall never believe in you."

وَقَالُوا

They said

مَهْمَا تَأْتِنَا بِهِ

Whatever Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) you may bring to us

مِنْ آيَةٍ

to work therewith your sorcery on us

لِّتَسْحَرَنَا بِهَا فَمَا نَحْنُ

we shall never believe in you

فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الطُّوفَانَ وَالْجَرَادَ وَالْقُمَّلَ وَالضَّفَادِعَ وَالدَّمَ آيَاتٍ مُّفَصَّلَاتٍ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا وَكَانُوا قَوْمًا مُّجْرِمِينَ ١٣٣

So We sent on them: the flood, the locusts, the lice, the frogs, and the blood: (as a succession of) manifest signs, yet they remained arrogant, and they were of those people who were Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.).

فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الطُّوفَانَ

So We sent on them the flood,

وَالْجَرَادَ

and the locusts,

وَالْقُمَّلَ

and the lice,

وَالضَّفَادِعَ

and the frogs,

وَالدَّمَ

and the blood:

آيَاتٍ مُّفَصَّلَاتٍ

(as a succession of) manifest signs,

فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا

yet they remained arrogant,

وَكَانُوا قَوْمًا مُّجْرِمِينَ

and they were of those people who were Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.).

وَلَمَّا وَقَعَ عَلَيْهِمُ الرِّجْزُ قَالُوا يَا مُوسَى ادْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِندَكَ ۖ لَئِن كَشَفْتَ عَنَّا الرِّجْزَ لَنُؤْمِنَنَّ لَكَ وَلَنُرْسِلَنَّ مَعَكَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ١٣٤

And when the punishment fell on them they said: "O Musa (Moses)! Invoke your Lord for us because of His Promise to you. If you will remove the punishment from us, we indeed shall believe in you, and we shall let the Children of Israel go with you."

وَلَمَّا وَقَعَ عَلَيْهِمُ الرِّجْزُ

And when the punishment fell on them

قَالُوا يَا مُوسَى ادْعُ

they said: 'O Musa (Moses)!'

لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِندَكَ ۖ لَئِن

Invoke your Lord for us because of His Promise to you.

كَشَفْتَ عَنَّا الرِّجْزَ لَنُؤْمِنَنَّ

If you will remove the punishment from us,

لَكَ وَلَنُرْسِلَنَّ

we indeed shall believe in you,

مَعَكَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ

and we shall let the Children of Israel go with you.

فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمُ الرِّجْزَ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ هُم بَالِغُوهُ إِذَا هُمْ يَنكُثُونَ ١٣٥

But when We removed the punishment from them to a fixed term, which they had to reach, behold! They broke their word!

فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمُ الرِّجْزَ

But when We removed the punishment from them

إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ هُم بَالِغُوهُ

to a fixed term, which they had to reach

إِذَا هُمْ يَنكُثُونَ

behold! They broke their word!

فَانتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَأَغْرَقْنَاهُمْ فِي الْيَمِّ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَكَانُوا عَنْهَا غَافِلِينَ ١٣٦

So We took retribution from them. We drowned them in the sea, because they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and were heedless about them.

فَانتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ

So We took retribution from them.

فَأَغْرَقْنَاهُمْ فِي الْيَمِّ

We drowned them in the sea,

بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا

because they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.)

وَكَانُوا عَنْهَا غَافِلِينَ

and were heedless about them.

وَأَوْرَثْنَا الْقَوْمَ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا يُسْتَضْعَفُونَ مَشَارِقَ الْأَرْضِ وَمَغَارِبَهَا الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا ۖ وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ الْحُسْنَىٰ عَلَىٰ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا ۖ وَدَمَّرْنَا مَا كَانَ يَصْنَعُ فِرْعَوْنُ وَقَوْمُهُ وَمَا كَانُوا يَعْرِشُونَ ١٣٧

And We made the people who were considered weak to inherit the eastern parts of the land and the western parts thereof which We have blessed. And the fair Word of your Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel, because of their endurance. And We destroyed completely all the great works and buildings which Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his people erected.

وَأَوْرَثْنَا الْقَوْمَ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا يُسْتَضْعَفُونَ

And We made the people who were considered weak

مَشَارِقَ الْأَرْضِ وَمَغَارِبَهَا الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا ۖ

وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ الْحُسْنَىٰ عَلَىٰ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ

And the fair Word of your Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel,

بِمَا صَبَرُوا ۖ

because of their endurance.

وَدَمَّرْنَا مَا كَانَ يَصْنَعُ فِرْعَوْنُ وَقَوْمُهُ

And We destroyed completely all the great works and buildings which Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and his people erected.

وَمَا كَانُوا يَعْرِشُونَ
