وَاقْتَرَبَ الْوَعْدُ الْحَقُّ فَإِذَا هِيَ شَاخِصَةٌ أَبْصَارُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا قَدْ كُنَّا فِي غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ هَٰذَا بَلْ كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ ٩٧
And the true promise (Day of Resurrection) shall draw near (of fulfillment). Then (when mankind is resurrected from their graves), you shall see the eyes of the disbelievers fixedly stare in horror. (They will say): "Woe to us! We were indeed heedless of this; nay, but we were Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.)."
- وَاقْتَرَبَ الْوَعْدُ الْحَقُّ
- And the true promise (Day of Resurrection) shall draw near (of fulfillment).
- فَإِذَا هِيَ شَاخِصَةٌ أَبْصَارُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا
- Then (when mankind is resurrected from their graves), you shall see the eyes of the disbelievers fixedly stare in horror.
- يَا وَيْلَنَا قَدْ
- (They will say): 'Woe to us!
- كُنَّا فِي غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ هَٰذَا بَلْ
- We were indeed heedless of this;
- كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ
- nay, but we were Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.).
إِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ حَصَبُ جَهَنَّمَ أَنتُمْ لَهَا وَارِدُونَ ٩٨
Certainly! You (disbelievers) and that which you are worshipping now besides Allah, are (but) fuel for Hell! (Surely), you will enter it.
- إِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ
- Certainly! You (disbelievers) and that which you are worshipping
- مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ
- now besides Allah,
- حَصَبُ جَهَنَّمَ
- are (but) fuel for Hell!
- أَنتُمْ لَهَا وَارِدُونَ
- (Surely), you will enter it.
لَوْ كَانَ هَٰؤُلَاءِ آلِهَةً مَّا وَرَدُوهَا ۖ وَكُلٌّ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ ٩٩
Had these (idols, etc.) been aliha (gods), they would not have entered there (Hell), and all of them will abide therein.
- لَوْ كَانَ هَٰؤُلَاءِ آلِهَةً
- Had these (idols, etc.) been aliha (gods),
- مَّا وَرَدُوهَا ۖ
- they would not have entered there (Hell),
- وَكُلٌّ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ
- and all of them will abide therein.
لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِيرٌ وَهُمْ فِيهَا لَا يَسْمَعُونَ ١٠٠
Therein breathing out with deep sighs and roaring will be their portion, and therein they will hear not.
- لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِيرٌ
- Therein breathing out with deep sighs
- وَهُمْ فِيهَا
- and therein
- لَا يَسْمَعُونَ
- they will hear not
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ سَبَقَتْ لَهُم مِّنَّا الْحُسْنَىٰ أُولَٰئِكَ عَنْهَا مُبْعَدُونَ ١٠١
Verily those for whom the good has preceded from Us, they will be removed far therefrom (Hell) [e.g. 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary); 'Uzair (Ezra), etc.].
- إِنَّ الَّذِينَ سَبَقَتْ لَهُم مِّنَّا الْحُسْنَىٰ
- Verily those for whom the good has preceded from Us
- أُولَٰئِكَ
- they
- عَنْهَا مُبْعَدُونَ
- will be removed far therefrom (Hell)
لَا يَسْمَعُونَ حَسِيسَهَا ۖ وَهُمْ فِي مَا اشْتَهَتْ أَنفُسُهُمْ خَالِدُونَ ١٠٢
They shall not hear the slightest sound of it (Hell), while they abide in that which their ownselves desire.
- لَا يَسْمَعُونَ حَسِيسَهَا ۖ

- وَهُمْ فِي مَا اشْتَهَتْ أَنفُسُهُمْ

- خَالِدُونَ
- eternally
لَا يَحْزُنُهُمُ الْفَزَعُ الْأَكْبَرُ وَتَتَلَقَّاهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ هَٰذَا يَوْمُكُمُ الَّذِي كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ ١٠٣
The greatest terror (on the Day of Resurrection) will not grieve them, and the angels will meet them, (with the greeting): "This is your Day which you were promised."
- لَا يَحْزُنُهُمُ الْفَزَعُ الْأَكْبَرُ
- The greatest terror (on the Day of Resurrection) will not grieve them
- وَتَتَلَقَّاهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ
- and the angels will meet them
- هَٰذَا يَوْمُكُمُ الَّذِي كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ
- (with the greeting): 'This is your Day which you were promised.'
