وَالْعَادِيَاتِ ضَبْحًا ١

By the (steeds) that run, with panting (breath),

وَالْعَادِيَاتِ

By the (steeds) that run,

ضَبْحًا

with panting (breath),

فَالْمُورِيَاتِ قَدْحًا ٢

Striking sparks of fire (by their hooves),

فَالْمُورِيَاتِ

the ones that strike sparks

قَدْحًا

of fire (by their hooves)

فَالْمُغِيرَاتِ صُبْحًا ٣

And scouring to the raid at dawn

فَالْمُغِيرَاتِ

And scouring

صُبْحًا

at dawn

فَأَثَرْنَ بِهِ نَقْعًا ٤

And raise the dust in clouds the while,

فَأَثَرْنَ بِهِ نَقْعًا

And raise the dust in clouds the while

فَوَسَطْنَ بِهِ جَمْعًا ٥

Penetrating forthwith as one into the midst (of the foe);

فَوَسَطْنَ بِهِ

Penetrating forthwith as one

جَمْعًا

into the midst (of the foe)

إِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ لِرَبِّهِ لَكَنُودٌ ٦

Verily! Man (disbeliever) is ungrateful to his Lord;

إِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ

Verily! Man

لِرَبِّهِ

to his Lord

لَكَنُودٌ

is ungrateful (disbeliever)

وَإِنَّهُ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ لَشَهِيدٌ ٧

And to that fact he bears witness (by his deeds);

وَإِنَّهُ

And to that fact

عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ

he bears witness

لَشَهِيدٌ

(by his deeds)

وَإِنَّهُ لِحُبِّ الْخَيْرِ لَشَدِيدٌ ٨

And verily, he is violent in the love of wealth.

وَإِنَّهُ

And verily, he is

لِحُبِّ الْخَيْرِ

violent in the love of wealth

لَشَدِيدٌ
