Ad-Duhaa — Verses 1–5 | Explore this Quran theme on Muallim
وَالضُّحَىٰ ١
By the forenoon (after sun-rise);
- وَالضُّحَىٰ
- By the name of Allah
- the Most Gracious
- the Most Merciful
- and the forenoon (after sun-rise)
وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَىٰ ٢
And by the night when it is still (or darkens);
- وَاللَّيْلِ
- And by the night
- إِذَا سَجَىٰ
- when it is still (or darkens)
مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَىٰ ٣
Your Lord (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) has neither forsaken you nor hated you.
- مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ
- Your Lord (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) has neither forsaken you
- وَمَا قَلَىٰ
- nor hated you
وَلَلْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لَّكَ مِنَ الْأُولَىٰ ٤
And indeed the Hereafter is better for you than the present (life of this world).
- وَلَلْآخِرَةُ
- And indeed the Hereafter
- خَيْرٌ لَّكَ
- is better for you
- مِنَ الْأُولَىٰ
- than the present (life of this world)
وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَىٰ ٥
And verily, your Lord will give you (all i.e. good) so that you shall be well-pleased.
- وَلَسَوْفَ يُعْطِيكَ
- And verily, your Lord will give you
- رَبُّكَ فَتَرْضَىٰ
- so that you shall be well-pleased
