قُتِلَ الْإِنسَانُ مَا أَكْفَرَهُ ١٧

Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is!

مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقَهُ ١٨

From what thing did He create him?

مِن نُّطْفَةٍ خَلَقَهُ فَقَدَّرَهُ ١٩

From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion;

فَقَدَّرَهُ

and then set him in due proportion

ثُمَّ السَّبِيلَ يَسَّرَهُ ٢٠

Then He makes the Path easy for him;

ثُمَّ السَّبِيلَ

يَسَّرَهُ

He makes it easy for him

ثُمَّ أَمَاتَهُ فَأَقْبَرَهُ ٢١

Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave;

ثُمَّ أَمَاتَهُ

فَأَقْبَرَهُ

and puts him in his grave;

ثُمَّ إِذَا شَاءَ أَنشَرَهُ ٢٢

Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again).

ثُمَّ إِذَا شَاءَ

كَلَّا لَمَّا يَقْضِ مَا أَمَرَهُ ٢٣

Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him.

فَلْيَنظُرِ الْإِنسَانُ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِهِ ٢٤

Then let man look at his food,

فَلْيَنظُرِ

إِلَىٰ طَعَامِهِ

at his food

أَنَّا صَبَبْنَا الْمَاءَ صَبًّا ٢٥

That We pour forth water in abundance,

أَنَّا صَبَبْنَا

That We pour forth

الْمَاءَ صَبًّا

water in abundance

ثُمَّ شَقَقْنَا الْأَرْضَ شَقًّا ٢٦

And We split the earth in clefts,

ثُمَّ شَقَقْنَا

And We split

الْأَرْضَ

the earth

شَقًّا

in clefts

فَأَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا حَبًّا ٢٧

And We cause therein the grain to grow,

فَأَنبَتْنَا

And We cause to grow

فِيهَا

therein

حَبًّا

the grain

وَعِنَبًا وَقَضْبًا ٢٨

And grapes and clover plants (i.e. green fodder for the cattle),

وَعِنَبًا

وَقَضْبًا

and clover plants (i.e. green fodder for the cattle)

وَزَيْتُونًا وَنَخْلًا ٢٩

And olives and date-palms,

وَزَيْتُونًا

وَنَخْلًا

and date-palms

وَحَدَائِقَ غُلْبًا ٣٠

And gardens, dense with many trees,

وَحَدَائِقَ

And gardens

غُلْبًا

dense with many trees

وَفَاكِهَةً وَأَبًّا ٣١

And fruits and Abba (herbage, etc.),

وَفَاكِهَةً

And fruits

وَأَبًّا

and Abba (herbage, etc.)

مَّتَاعًا لَّكُمْ وَلِأَنْعَامِكُمْ ٣٢

(To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle.

وَلِأَنْعَامِكُمْ

and your cattle
